ReplyDeleteI was at the HA Hallo'ween bash at the Elks Hall in Kamloops over twenty-five years ago. But that's about it, I have no involvement, don't use at all. Back then we just figured the guys were OK; they kept to themselves & there was no overt violence in the towns. But things have changed; we now know the terrible reality. Trouble is, most folks leave well enough alone; if things don't affect your world you don't give other trips a second thought. If the public shows zero outrage, the Government will feel no pressure to close down the crazy violence that actually threatens us all.

I lived in SBDO, Ca. in the 60's and 70's where the HAMC originated, my Son and I often visited "The Shack biker's bar that was nearby where we lived...we encountered quite a few HA there from time to time and found ALL of them friendly, courteous and NOT scary, frightening or intimidating ! They are a mixture of people from all walks of life and to many " living to ride and riding to live " as the saying goes, is the ONLY form of real comradeship and enjoyable lifestyle they have. Gyspies are NOT that different nor are any group of people who like to associate and share their views and life experience with others. Some are even veterans and ex cops who are disillusioned with society and justice as a whole. Many others feel abandoned by everyone from parents to government. I am NOT siding with, supporting or defending the HAMC which I am aware has been involved with many crimes and violent altercations over the decades...but from my experience as a senior member of the media...they are NOT ALL bad and their slogan " They never remember when we do good and they never forget when we do bad " does have some truth to it ! The self righteous members of law enforcement who continually spy on and harass members of the HAMC and other motorcycle gangs are in many ways hypocrites to the extent that they shy away from messing with the B I G criminals...y'know the respectable FAT CATS like doctors, lawyers, politicians ,etc. who rip off the public with a smile and do it legally protected.......their is corruption within ALL police forces from the highest level down too...that's why zacardelli the RCMP commissioner resigned...before he was arrested and prosecuted ! The RCMP and ALL cops in fact have looong protected themselves, their own interests and the rich and powerful in the establishment as every reporter and journalist with real ethics knows ! In fact police are gangs in themselves and they know it ! So where the HAMC may not be angelistic...they are certainly nowhere near as dangerous or BAD as the mafia,the mexican and columbian cartels or numerous other organized criminal groups.....if anything....they are just more vulnerable and visibly easier for law enforcement to target and infiltrate ! Bottom line, whatever so called criminal activities some HAMC and other gangs may be involved in...is really about trying to catch up with the FAT CATS and their pampered, protected lifestyles...maybe the motorcycle Guys really just want a bigger piece of the pie !

Although I believe the world is a big enough place for people to share different opinions, and I would like to know through your experience or by example, the "good" that they never remember. Being courteous and friendly to patrons wont be quite enough to sway me when weighed against torture, hard drug trade, murder, and rape. All of which I can provide links to sources. I'm not trying to facetious, however if I have been misinformed about a group defined as an "organized crime syndicate" by the US Justice department, I would like to know.

That is what that organization is doing across Canada. Using violence to murder rival drug dealers to take over the drug trade. I respect your opinion but I firmly disagree with it. It's not something I'm going to argue about either. I have posted a millions cases to back up what I'm saying. The Hells Angels are a criminal organization. They sell drugs. That is what they do.
