Kelowna bans gang colours

This is good. It is one step closer to the New York model everyone talks about without knowing what it was.

Banning gang colours in bars and nightclubs is a clear step forward. Recording everyone's photo ID is something I'm not sure I'm OK with. First there's the privacy issue, big brother watching our every move. Then there's the other aspect of the privacy issue. What's to prevent a gang from getting the list of other gang members or public individuals to mark and harass?

Let's face it, Ian Grant was a Hells Angel in Winnipeg and a confidential police file was found in his home listing all the names, addresses and next of kin to all the Hells Angels and their rivals in Winnipeg. If the Hells Angels can get a copy of a confidential RCMP file what's stopping them from getting a list of names and addresses of people who visit a particular bar. Especially if the bar is owned by Hells Angels.

Likely the intent of collecting ID is to ban known gang members from attending bars period even if they aren't wearing colours. That is a noble quest. Just problematic.

Nevertheless, banning gang colours in bars and nightclubs is a good thing. Taking that one step further and banning them from all public businesses in Kelowna is a good thing. The intent is to stop the intimidation simply wearing gang colours conveys. These gangs are not lawful organizations they are known drug dealers fighting over the drug trade.

One problem is how do you tell someone they have to leave their tattoo outside? Independent Soldiers have the gangs name tattooed on their forearms. Will Kelowna ban them from wearing short sleeve t-shirts in public businesses? If they do I applaud them. Banning them from the premises is a good way to start cleaning up the mess by taking out the garbage.

Weird Hal Porteous

This is old news but I wanted to cite it to illustrate a given. Hal Porteous is a member of the Vancouver Hells Angels. He produced a pretty lame rap video trying to glorify the life of a drug dealer. His red neck attempt at hip hop looked like Weird Al Yankovic's take off on Ridin Dirty or Lonley Island's I'm on a Boat. Even though that has T-Pain in it, it was a joke. The sad thing is, Weird Hal wasn't joking.

The reason I mention it is not to make fun of a red neck. Much. Kim Bolan has already done that and even Hells Angels don't like the video. The reason I mention it is to illustrate that the age old lie is no longer believable. The Hells Angels claim they are not a criminal organization. They claim they are just a group of guys who ride motorcycles. Leaving the multitude of drug convictions aside, take a look at the video.

There are two people of interest in the sappy video. Robert Shannon and Jody York. Robert Shannon has been seen on various photo ops with Weird Hal on several occasions. Robert Shannon is now a convicted cocaine smuggler who the U.S. Department of Justice claims was smuggling cocaine for the Hells Angels. Yeah that skinny geeky looking kid with bleached hair. What a perfect cover.

Anyways, it has been alleged that not only did the Hells Angels profit from this drug smuggling ring, they used their organization to threaten others to promote it including threatening Robert Shannon's co accused in prison by stating they know where his grandmother lives. You can't get much lower than that. Except for Otis Garret of course.

Jody York was Robert Shannon's business partner who was also in Weird Hal's dumb video. He can be seen toasting the ears (People who go to jail for the group) in the video with Weird Hal.

Here's a photo of Robert Shannon and his Dad on another bloody boat before he was arrested. The family had to have known where all that money was coming from.

The intent of the video is to glorify the life of a drug dealer. It has a known Hells Angel in it and a known cocaine smuggler in it. Since he produced the video with the permission of the Hells Angels it is clear that the Hells Angels are a criminal organization in Canada and should be shut down before they exploit any more young boys in the back of their cars.

We need to reform the judicial system in B.C. to catch up with Ontario and the rest of Canada so we stop being enablers for gang violence.

The Hells Angels and the Vancouver Gang War

Where there's drugs involved, shooting result as rival groups fight over the money to be made. The media throws a lot of names into the spotlight of smaller groups and spend a great deal of resources covering the businesses of the Hells Angels since they are the largest criminal organization in Western Canada.

All the drug convictions speak for themselves. You can't have that many drug convictions as an organization and not be involved in the sale of drugs as an organization. It's really that simple.

The interesting thing is, how the Hells Angels do business. Or at least who they employ to do business for them. Hence the term puppet club. A puppet club is a group that does everything the Hells Angels want but aren't Hells Angels. That way if they get caught doing anything illegal, the Hells Angels aren't responsible, the puppet club is.

However, a recent Ontario decision clearly stated that "the puppet master is not less blameworthy than the puppet." That was applying to the Melissa Todorovic decision but it also applies to organized crime. If I hire someone to kill someone, then I am guilty of murder. If I hire someone to sell drugs, then I am guilty of drug trafficking. It's that simple.

The media reports that the Crew is an organized group in Prince George that has links to the Hells Angels in Vancouver. Selling crack cocaine is their primary source of business. We are told that the Crew are new to Prince George and are only permitted to sell crack there with permission of the Renegades who the media tells us are a puppet organization of the Hells Angels.

According to Sargent Tom Bethune from the RCMP, the Renegades primarily sell Marijuana and powder cocaine but both groups are directly and indirectly involved with prostitution, theft and money laundering. Since both groups are involved with the Hells Angels then the Hells Angels are involved directly or indirectly in all of those activities. In fact, Bethune went so far as to say: "No one can sell drugs in Prince George without permission of the Hells Angels."

Not only does that statement fall within the realm of believability, I submit that Prince George is not the only place in B.C. where the Hells Angels are in charge of. They are clearly expanding and if five out of seven homicides were tied to organized crime in Prince George and that the Prince George Puppet Master is the Vancouver Hells Angels then logic would dictate many of the other gang deaths in Vancouver and across the province are also directly or indirectly related to the Hells Angels.

The first observation to support that premise is the simple fact you can't bring that much cocaine into a city and not be responsible for what happens when those drugs hit the streets. However, it appears to be much more subtle than that. As I said before what was Matt Schrader doing with Elliott Castaneda in Mexico right before he was killed since Matt has friends who are tied to the Hells Angels and the Hells Angles don't like the UN.

The Hells Angels sell crack? Who would have thought that? Even if it's just a puppet group of a puppet group if they bring the drug into the country and enforce for those who sell it, then they are responsible for it as are all those nice families with wonderful children living behind gated security.

If the Hells Angels are as the police say involved in Prostitution, then are any of their prostitutes among the missing from the Vancouver East side? Did any of their prostitutes end up on the Picton Farm? The one that Hells Angel Associate Dave Picton ran? Well at least Robert Picton's lawyer claimed in court that Dave Picton was a Hells Angel Associate.

The problem is, not only do the Hells Angels lie, they keep things on a need to know basis. If you don't need to know about that area of the business, you are not told about it. Nevertheless, how can anyone in good conscience close their eyes to the truth and keep living a lie? Forever if it pays well enough so it would seem.
