My politics...A red tory, that's rather amusing. My politics is confusing because they aren't linear. I support and oppose issues not stereotypes. Back in the day everyone used to think if you support business, you're on the right. If you oppose business you're on the left, but it really isn't that simple. No one in their right mind is opposed to business. Business creates jobs, provides tax revenue and fuels the economy. The concern is over good business versus bad business. I support small business and a free market. Stephen Harper does not. He supports large corporations securing monopolies which removes the competition in a free market that results in consumers getting screwed. I also like public health care.

Drugs haven't influenced my life or anyone in my family. I've just seen crack mess up a lot of peoples lives. I've seen the New York model in action and I support it. I don't think 20 and 30 year prison sentences will solve anything. The organized crime groups will just keep finding other mules. My solution is simple. If a prolific offender who continually steals to support his drug habit gets caught again, they should go to jail for three full months with no access to any kind of harmful drugs. In my mind that is not excessive. If a crack dealer is caught selling crack on the street, or if someone is caught trafficking under a kilo of cocaine for the Hells Angels, they both should get two years in jail, not house arrest. I don't think the prisons should be privatized either.

I don't think pot should be legalized but I do think it should be decriminalized. Sending people to our crowded prisons and over burdened court system for pot is not cost effective. Unless they are caught driving under the influence. That should be treated like any other impaired charge. Exporting large quantities of pot into the Sates with the intent of bringing back cocaine to be sold as crack should however, face a reasonable prison sentence depending on the volume. I don't think we should stand and watch crack dealers sell crack or crystal meth in public and not do anything about it. In my mind, that is what is enabling the gang war. As long as there is that kind of money to be made, there will always be those consumed in greed to fight over that money. We need to stop the public sale of crack and crystal meth.
Dennis Watsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06736981069304416233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-74016296097020280722012-10-20T13:14:24.453-07:002012-10-20T13:14:24.453-07:00Exactly. The thing that bugs me about it is that Harper is putting out these commercials that says the opposition opposes trade agreements that will stimulate the economy. That can't be farther from the truth. He's putting out commercials trying to say these insane trade agreements are good for the economy when they clearly are not. The removal of our democratic rights is a huge concern.

Dennis Watsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06736981069304416233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-45278402703144550542012-10-20T13:10:08.717-07:002012-10-20T13:10:08.717-07:00I just noticed that. He rather give that company to Communist China as well.

Dennis Watsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06736981069304416233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-20529680824494947652012-10-20T12:14:16.657-07:002012-10-20T12:14:16.657-07:00Here is something that is proving interesting...

What kind of insane "agreement" allows a company to import and dump (I'm sure they call it "dispose of") toxic chemicals and then sue and win when they're are not allowed to?

The reason this shit gets crazier and crazier is after they get what they want the first time and it becomes accepted, they come back for more. No difference in the dynamic of the erosion of freedom and rights, it's all the same principle. Unless you tell them "no" and smack them hard enough for it not to wear off for a while, they'll keep coming back. Put a few corporate types in jail for a bit and you'll get their attention.trailrunner78https://www.blogger.com/profile/06694102447472594355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-21681326004558993792012-10-20T01:19:47.528-07:002012-10-20T01:19:47.528-07:00your political stances are very confusing, it seem...your political stances are very confusing, it seems like you disagree with much of what the CPC is throwing out, but most likely vote conservative. You seem like a red tory, but with very strong anti drugs morals (im guessing drugs somehow messed with your life directly or indirectly).

i have no idea about your past, ut you seem like a decent guy, i hope you use your platform to promote good, and forward thinking ideas to solve our gang and drug problems. the ideas we are using seem to do nothing, and getting harder on dealers seems to have put the US in a very bad position.Reasonablehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01830224876012461941noreply@blogger.com
