Since you're going to swagger around saying that shit where the public can hear you (VPD officers did it on two separate occasions within my earshot at public functions where I "just happened" to be standing near them, how pervasive is that mentality for THAT to happen? It's like a motto or something...) act like no one can tell you what to do, how about you use that rebellious streak to do your fucking job even when political types don't want you to? Quit doing revenue enhancement and do some police work. trailrunner78https://www.blogger.com/profile/06694102447472594355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-60831424404676933412019-02-18T13:17:59.940-08:002019-02-18T13:17:59.940-08:00Absolutely!Absolutely!SK Teacherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06903945281784180143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-79843945872442469792019-02-17T16:59:10.137-08:002019-02-17T16:59:10.137-08:00I'd say "you have to be kidding me",...I'd say "you have to be kidding me", but I know you're not....taxing the air above the building because of what you could do with it....way past "taxation", well into "theft". Sort of like the portion of taxes that goes to pay for police service not satisfactorily delivered.trailrunner78https://www.blogger.com/profile/06694102447472594355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-52089725583178469862019-02-17T16:34:18.782-08:002019-02-17T16:34:18.782-08:00Aaaannnnd lets not forget that the police are work...Aaaannnnd lets not forget that the police are working for the city.
There is an expectation from the city that the police must issue tickets to generate revenue.

Drug addicts dont have money.
Arresting drug addicts and Dealers costs money...

So?
Issue tickets to law abiding taxpayers and workers.
They have money.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06766222491377145829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-51888145647924423772019-02-17T05:37:33.117-08:002019-02-17T05:37:33.117-08:00Seemingly the same problem exists on Robson Street...Seemingly the same problem exists on Robson Street in Vancouver. The City is taxing local businesses for the air above them meaning they are charging them for taxes on the potential of condos being built at that location. This is killing small business and forcing them to move. It's bad business for everyone involved:

https://www.vancourier.com/news/taxed-to-death-how-vancouver-s-small-businesses-are-falling-victim-to-soaring-property-tax-1.23121997

https://globalnews.ca/news/3924007/robson-street-store-closing-after-93-per-cent-property-tax-increase/

https://globalnews.ca/news/4529370/small-business-owners-facing-huge-tax-bill-hope-vancouver-mayoral-candidates-will-help/Dennis Watsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06736981069304416233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-60770375110431012392019-02-16T23:55:20.338-08:002019-02-16T23:55:20.338-08:00Have a look to see who owns the land along the Sur...Have a look to see who owns the land along the Surrey Strip. Check to see if any one is pulling permits for the area or asking quietly for re zoning. If you can bring drug dealers to an area and lower the prices of land and at the same time up the property taxes, you can get people to move and then they will re develop and make a shit load of money.

Haven't been in the area for a couple of decades, but as I recall there were mostly small businesses. To get rid of them is some times difficult, but bring in drug dealers and they'll leave of their own accord.

by Bosa renting out the land, they are making a lot of money, $30K a month is way too much, Bosa will most likely have the property values lowered so they will pay less in property tax.

Surrey is policed by the RCMP and they ought not to be. Never like the idea of large cities being policed by the RCMP. they don't know how to do it. they were created and trained to work in rural areas and not much has changed in the RCMP in a hundred odd years, except they gave up horses for work.

Drug dealing will be with us as long as there are profits and drug addicts, however, dealing right out in the open is a bit too much for even me. it lowers property values.

its interesting this all happens on the Surrey strip. It doesn't happen in high end neighbourhoods at all does it? Once the developers are ready to re develop and upscale the Surrey strip, then the dealers will be moved. e.a.f.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06244666617774794918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-54709820831690306972019-02-16T23:35:32.691-08:002019-02-16T23:35:32.691-08:00
The police gave them a ticket for jay walk...
The police gave them a ticket for jay walking. The police will ticket someone with a job for jay walking but they won't arrest a drug dealer for selling crack, crystal meth or fentanyl. That is just plain evil. Instead the cops will press the pedestrian walk button and ticket people for running the light.
Man that must SUCK to realize thefolks you've hired to protect you
not only aren't going to do it, but they're actually going to sell out to the other side. It's the only explanation for this kind of thing, anyone with any experience of such matters is going to immediately say, "Hmm, looks like someones getting paid off not to interfere". Why folks in BC haven't figured that out yet I have no idea. trailrunner78https://www.blogger.com/profile/06694102447472594355noreply@blogger.com
