Jerry Langton was a former editor of a large New York paper. That's credible in my mind.
Dennis Watsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06736981069304416233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-60391693008877046252014-10-09T01:04:30.021-07:002014-10-09T01:04:30.021-07:00Jerry Langton's book Showdown contained many e...Jerry Langton's book Showdown contained many errors and the author used pure fiction to fill in parts of the story that he couldn't glean from his sources. I would not put too much stock in anything he has written.bigbob705@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18015929676931742756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-20980214193606652332014-09-23T01:08:36.506-07:002014-09-23T01:08:36.506-07:00If they were found guilty and sentenced to prison,...If they were found guilty and sentenced to prison, and the rules stipulate you serve 2/3 of your sentence prior to being paroled, you do ask a very good question. Why are these men out of jail now and not later? Will some one be asking the politicians that question, i.e. the M.P. Will any one be asking the parole board this question?

Perhaps their sentences did have a qualifier, which enabled them to ask for early parole, who knows. it is always entertaining to see how men such as these are treated yet Robert Latimer had to fight to be granted parole and then even the parole board would not permit him to travel freely. He actually had to go to court and have that decision over turned. You do wonder how much is politically motivated.

Personally I'm not in favour of longer sentences and do think, if there is little risk of someone getting back into the business, that parole after 2/3 of the sentence is o.k. It gives the justice system an opportunity to see how the "offender" does. Unfortunately there frequently is little follow up. Perhaps those who subscribe to the Fraser Institute's philosophy consider that a waste of tax dollars.e.a.f.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06244666617774794918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6576246045591350665.post-80328228971958082982014-09-21T10:34:55.829-07:002014-09-21T10:34:55.829-07:00Hells Angels have long manipulated ICBC!
