James Connolly: Where Left meets Right

Many years ago when I was in West Belfast, a friend gave me a pin of James Connolly. Not knowing the local history, I thanked her sincerely and said who is that? She smiled and with a twinkle in her eye said, he was an Irish rebel. He was a Communist. I thoughtfully nodded, cherishing the gift and resolved to read up on this Irish rebel.

Aside from being a Socialist, James Connolly was one of the signers of the Irish Proclamation which was very similar to the American Declaration of Independence promising to protect equality, free speech, freedom of religion and civil liberty. Most would see that as a direct contradiction to his claim of being a Socialist.

It reminds me of a friend who used to think I was a Communist for the same reason I thought he wasn’t – we both believed in democracy and free speech. I thought that was somewhat ironic.

On another occasion I spoke with a National leader of a Canadian Trade Union who also claimed to be a Communist. Knowing my passion for democracy and my concerns about the revolution in Cuba he said to me, the Communists in Russia, China and Eastern Europe call themselves Communists but they aren’t really Communists. I said to him yeah, well what the hell are they because that is what Communism is. I was referring to the oppressive slavery that resulted in the death camps and the machine guns pointed inward on the East side of the Berlin Wall.

My father used to say that Communism works in theory but not in practice. Clearly wherever Communism has been portrayed, civil liberty has been lost and it has become the oppressive slave driver it originally set out to abolish.

In my opinion, James Connolly’s pledge is the reason why Communism never works outside a Free Republic. If you want to oppose slavery then you protect civil liberty. If you want to promote collective rights, you do so by protecting individual rights. The end does not justify the means. If you want to create a democratic socialist sate, you need to protect democracy. It's that simple.

My union friend used to claim that Cuba was the best model of Communism we have. I shook my head in amazement. No it’s not. Cuba has political prisoners of conscience. Sure it’s watered down Communism in that people are allowed to have a religion, but they only allow one political party on the ballot and you can’t be a member of that political party and run for a position in government if you have a religious affiliation. That is discrimination and is not a democracy.

In response I said the best model of Socialism we have is the Kibbutz movement in Israel where people are free to come and go as they please. It is based on a democratic system. In my opinion that is the only condition where socialism can properly exist. Where people are free to join or leave and democracy is protected by law.

When push comes to shove I agree with the Beatles in their song Revolution. You say you want a revolution Well, you know We all want to change the world But when you talk about destruction Don't you know that you can count me out. You ask me for a contribution But if you want money For people with minds that hate All I can tell is brother you have to wait. But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao You ain't going to make it with anyone any how.

China Red Square, East Berlin and Stalin’s death camps are all what I oppose. Yet James Connolly’s free republic I completely support. If he wants to create nationalized oil and public banks within a free republic based on democracy and the will of the people then have at it. Just don’t start denying private ownership of land and forcing public ownership of everything without making it publically accountable. Otherwise you just go from one rich elite to another.

In the famous musical Fiddler on the Roof, the young university student that wanted to marry the guy’s daughter appears to be involved in the demonstrations that gave rise to the Communist Revolution in Russia. Which has to make you wonder how many Jews supported that revolution. Not just the Rothschild’s, the average worker. Somewhat ironic since after Lenin high jacked the trade union movement in Russia he executed the striking trade unionists and killed more Jews than Hitler. The families of the striking trade unionists were too afraid to even collect their dead. Historically people have been conned to support a revolution opposing one great evil only to be taken over by a worse evil. That is why we need to protect civil liberty and a free Republic.

Defending the Constitution and the Charter of Rights

Lots more news to catch up on. The breaking news is the fact that Don Lyons just had his bail revoked because he has been accused of assaulting his girlfriend. Big surprise there. That and the Edmonton cocaine bust tied to the Hells Angels that the local media hasn’t seemed to have picked up on yet. Before I get down and dirty on the new news I wanted to make two philosophical posts because they are important and relevant.

Even though most of us are rightly concerned about the drug related violence that is plaguing our community, none of that is reason to give up our civil liberty. Especially when we see who it is that’s ultimately the driving force behind the drug related violence. I’m not talking about the Hells Angels this time. I’m talking even further up the food chain. We all know locally the drug violence leads either to the Hells Angels or a drug dealing rival they are fighting with. I’m talking about who benefits from their business. The ones that benefited from Freeway Ricky’s business in LA without his knowledge.

First I want to address the Constitution. The US Constitution has been a blue print for democracy around the world. The Irish Proclamation is similar to the US Declaration of Independence. The Canadian Charter of Rights is very similar to the US Bill of Rights. All of these important documents need to be preserved and protected because they are currently under attack.

Stephen Harper is an enemy of the Charter of Rights. At first I thought he supported those rights but just didn’t like the fact that it was Pierre Trudeau, his arch enemy, that finally entrenched it into law that would bind subsequent governments. Now I realize Harper's hate of the charter goes much deeper than that.

One article even had the audacity to claim Harper opposed the Charter of Rights because Quebec never signed on to it. What a joke that is. Harper doesn’t give a rat’s ass about Quebec. Saying he doesn’t support the Charter because Quebec never signed the constitution is absurd. Quebec didn’t want to be a part of England and swear allegiance to the crown. They totally support the civil liberties in the Charter of Rights. Ever heard of the French Revolution?

The French Revolution was founded on three principles: Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. In fact, the real motto was Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité ou la Mort. Liberty or death so to speak. Just like Thomas Paine's declaration.

People try and translate Fraternity to something else trying to make it more politically correct but in doing so it loses in the translation. The French symbol for Liberty is a woman. Fraternity does not exclude women. It’s a bond within a common struggle. Some people say Solidarity now but for many that term raises the hair on the back of their necks because of it’s socialist leanings and often for it’s political hypocrisy by those who shout the word the loudest. I prefer the term Fraternity which in no means excludes woman.

My point is, Quebecors clearly support the principles within the Charter of Rights. It’s England and the crown they have a problem with not liberty. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France.

Stephen Harper opposes the Charter of Rights because it protects civil liberty. That is what he has a problem with it and that is why he continues to violate it on a regular basis. Sadly he isn’t the only one. Justin Trudeau had the audacity to claim that the NDP were lukewarm on the charter when he voted with Harper for a bill that violated the Charter and was illegal. It was the NDP, the Bloc and the Green Party that voted to defend the Charter not Justin Trudeau shockingly enough.

Likewise the Constitution in the US is under serious attack by the same government officials who swore and oath to defend it. One of the most offensive things Keith Alexander said when he was being heckled in Las Vegas, other than pretending he wasn’t a liar was his pretending he supported the constitution. That was another bold faced lie that needs to be addressed.

One of the hecklers said Read the Constitution. He answered with I have, you should. That was absurd and offensive. The Constitution is all about protecting civil liberty. It’s all about protection from unnecessary searches and seizures. It’s all about the right to a fair trial, to legal representation. Someone has to be charged with an offence before they can be arrested. These are the fundamental rights they are violating on a daily basis. That needs to be addressed. We need to be familiar with the civil liberties protected by the Constitution and the Charter of Rights so the next time some snake oil salesman like Keith Alexander or Sarah Palin pretends to support the Constitution we will see through their lies and know otherwise.

Order a free copy of the Canadian Charter of Rights

You can order a free copy of the Canadian Charter of Rights from the Human Rights Department of Canadian Heritage by filling out this form and E-mailing it to droits-rights@pch.gc.ca of by faxing it to: 819 994 5252. The Charter is available in two sizes, in poster (18" x 23") or certificate (11" x 14") size. There is no charge. Every home in Canada should have one on their wall. Stephen Harper won't celebrate the 30th anniversary of the charter but we can and should.

NSA heckled for lying and violating the constitution

The Vancouver Province is reporting that Keith Alexander, the Director of the NSA was heckled at a conference in Las Vegas which clearly shows you can’t fool all of the people all of the time. The NSA is an enemy of the constitution. Keith Alexander is a liar and a traitor.

Operation Northwoods had nothing to do with protecting Americans. Recalling the air support for the USS Liberty had nothing to do with protecting Americans. Giving a drug addict $250,000 and a new BMW to fire a missile at American soldiers has nothing to do with protecting Americans. They are liars and traitors. Not to mention thieves who steal billions of tax dollars every year from their budget and refuse to give a public accounting of where that stolen money went. The NSA, the CIA and all the intelligence agencies within the Five Eyes alliance are criminals who are actively trying to destroy the constitution.

I sincerely believe that the coming civil war that Canadians and Americans will face will not be about left versus right nor will it be about terrorism. It will be about those who support a free republic and those who do not. Keith Alexander does not. Stephen Harper does not. Harper created a whole new agency called the Communications Security Establishment Canada who are solely mandated to violate the Charter of Rights. Harper gave them permission to exchange information with foreign “partners” who gathered information from torture just like Adolf Hitler.

Thankfully, the people are starting to think. Finally. So tell me, what shall we die for Elizabeth? Brethren, hoist the colours - The Constitution and the Charter of Rights. That is what we must defend. That is what this is about. Edward Snowden is a hero. Keith Alexander is not.

After shouting out BS and saying we don’t trust you, one heckler said, you lied to congress why should we believe what you are saying now? Alexander responds with I never lied to congress. Then the heckler provides the name and date of the NSA representative that did in fact lie to congress and Alexander says thanks for that. If that NSA representative lied to congress and Alexander was the director of the NSA at the time, then Alexander was the one that told him to lie to congress.

Research ship sets sail to study Pacific dead zone

A research ship funded by a Google executive has set sail from San Francisco to study a dead zone in the Pacific Ocean off Vancouver Island. Dead zones in the ocean are a growing problem where areas of low-oxygen water are expanding because of pollution and climate change. Since we get most of our oxygen from the ocean, this needs to be addressed.

UVic has a deep sea web cam in place to study the ocean floor called VENUS: Victoria Experimental Network Under the Sea. Now there appears to be a network of web cams in place called Neptune. The Venus web cam spotted an octopus that entered the dead zone but left to find an area with more oxygen.

Fake threat closes US Embassies

Last night when I was watching a movie on TV they interrupted the movie for an important news break. They claimed a serious but vague terrorist threat has resulted in the closure of all the US embassies in Muslim countries around the world. It was so ridiculous I had to turn it off because I couldn’t stomach it any longer.

The Main Stream Media has become absolutely absurd. The fictional drama is completely out of control. Back in the day we used to have something called investigative journalism. Now because of time and budget restraints most media outlets just reprint any press release any intelligence agency sends them despite the fact that the intelligence agencies have been caught intentionally giving the press false information in the past. Now if you dare speak out against the official version like Dan Rather, you run the risk of losing your job. The press is no longer free.

I am not saying Americans are bad and terrorism is good. I’m saying the exact opposite. Canadians used to have a reputation for being polite while Americans used to have a reputation for being rude and arrogant. Times are changing. Many Canadians are becoming rich yuppies who are rude and arrogant. Many Americans are humble and friendly. The old stereotypes no longer apply.

Killing innocent civilians is a despicable act. For example, the Air India bombing was a horrible event and we should rightfully shun any group or organization that condones or promotes any kind of terrorist activity. That would begin with CSIS. CSIS was directly involved in the Air India bombing and need to be charged and tried for murder since their handler helped plan the attack and provided the explosives. Blindly reprinting every press release CSIS sends out now destroys any credibility the media ever hoped of having.

Bill Tieleman pointed out James Cromitie was a low-level ex-drug dealer who converted to Islam. A well-paid FBI informant befriended the Walmart worker and promised him $250,000 and a new BMW car to fire Stinger surface-to-air missiles at U.S. military planes and plant bombs at Jewish targets in New York. That goes way beyond entrapment. You tell any crack head you will give them $250,000 and a new car if they point a weapon you give them at anyone, they will not hesitate in doing so. That doesn’t mean every crack head is a terrorist. It means you just created one.

The Boston Marathon bombing was bad enough. Police claimed the suspects were throwing pressure cooker bombs at them as they tried to escape. Really? How many pressure cooker bombs can you fit into a back pack? Pressure cookers are normally the size of a slow cooker. You can’t throw a slow cooker filled with nails and explosives very far. That’s like throwing a shot put at your enemy. It’s not going to go very far before it explodes.

This most recent false flag drama is clearly a distraction. What we need to ask ourselves is what are they trying to distract us from? Two things. They are trying to distract us from the reality that the anti terrorist budget keeps losing billions of dollars every year. I’m not talking about wasting billions of dollars on anti terrorism. I’m talking about them losing that much from their budget not knowing or at least not telling what it was spent on.

The other thing they are trying to distract us from is Obama’s Operation Fast and Furious. Previously I said Nixon would never have been allowed to hide Watergate under executive privilege. In fact he tried. The Supreme Court said that executive privilege did not extend to hiding criminal activity. The agency's arms dealing and drug trafficking in Operation Fast and Furious is a huge concern that we need to address. Simply because it was the exact same thing they did in Operation Wide Receiver. It is the exact same thing they did out of Mena, Arkansas. Iran contra never stopped. That is what we need to address. Not perpetuating fear and hate to hide the agency’s drug trafficking and arms dealing.

Especially when we want to empower those arms dealing drug traffickers to throw away the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. In New York the police visited a woman who was researching pressure cookers online. How did they know she was researching pressure cookers online? They were monitoring everyone in violation of the Fourth Amendment. The constitution protects the freedom of religion. A Saudi student in Michigan was interrogated by the FBI after he was seen carrying a pressure cooker filled with rice and meat to a friend’s house for dinner. We need to shun all kinds of terrorism and all kinds of hate and intolerance. We need to protect civil liberty.

“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Ben Franklin.

The Kelowna Summer Jam Revisited

Well it looks like the new police chief in Kelowna is keeping his word about keeping the heat on gang members in town this summer. The Kelowna Now is reporting that Police Strip Car In Front of City Hall And Find 'Significant" Amount of Drugs.

The RCMP had received a complaint regarding a custom BMW about suspected drug activity. Members of the CFSEU located the vehicle outside City Hall on Friday and arrested the occupants for possession of a controlled substance. After searching the vehicle, a significant amount of drugs were discovered. Three cheers for the CFSEU and for the concerned citizens of Kelowna who called it in. Now that’s what I’m talking about.

We remember last summer the police did an amazing job busting up a major drug ring and car theft ring tied to the Hells Angels in Kelowna. Only rats sell crack and steal cars. If ya get jammed up don’t mention my name. B*tch.

Pierre Lemaitre found dead

The National Posted reported that Pierre Lemaitre, a high-profile Mountie who was a spokesman for the RCMP following the Taser death of Robert Dziekanski was found dead in his Abbotsford home last Monday. Still no official word on his cause of death.

Sorry to say but the fact that his cause of death has still not been released is very suspicious. Especially since his death was shortly after Const. Bill Bentley, one of the four officers charged, was shockingly found not guilty of perjury after he was facing a charge that he lied at a public inquiry into Dziekanski’s death.

The Abbotsford News reported that Lemaitre held a press conference on Oct. 14, 2007 to address the incident that had occurred earlier that day in which Dziekanski died after being Tasered by police. Video footage shot by a witness contradicted much of what was relayed to the media. Lemaitre – and the RCMP as a whole – were criticized for inaccuracies in their reports, with some saying they had deliberately misled the public.

Lemaitre testified in April 2009 at the Braidwood public inquiry into Dziekanski's death. Inquiry commissioner Thomas Braidwood concluded in his final report that Lemaitre had not intentionally disclosed inaccurate information about Dziekanski's death and that he was later prevented by a superior from correcting the public record.

There was another taser fatality this weekend in Alberta. Recently in Chicago a 95 year old vet died after he was taserd by police then shot in the stomach with a bean bag fired out of a shot gun. This is why letting any police officers operate in Canada without any legal accountability is a huge concern for everyone. Everyone needs to be accountable to the law. Civil liberty is very important.

Two cases this week of RCMP officers in Alberta firing on unarmed suspects in roadside stops.

Bioluminescence

I took the bike out to Whitecliff tonight for the sunset. It’s very peaceful. Sometimes we all need a break from the cesspool of greed and violence tied to the drug trade. All eyes are on Edmonton right now with the latest cocaine bust there. The EDGE unit is doing an amazing job at restoring public confidence in law enforcement after the EPS had such a bad reputation of sharing intel with the Hells Angels. Let’s hope CSIS or the RCMP don’t pull the plug on their operation since they are doing such a great job. We’ve seen that happen before. I remember Chuck Pillon.

All this talk about crack has got me shaking my head. Crack was big in the States back in the /80’s. Why on earth are we still banging our head against the wall feeding that insane plague? Let’s remember who Gary Webb said was responsible for the US crack epidemic in the /80’s. Me thinks it’s the same clowns responsible for our present crack epidemic here in Canada.

Enjoying a peaceful sunset at the beach after all this talk about crack violence made me think of that scene from Star Wars when a guy tries to sell Obiwan death sticks at a bar. He uses a Jedi mind trick on him and says you don’t want to sell me death sticks. You want to go home and rethink your miserable life. Then the guy gets up and says exactly that before leaving.

These guys do need to rethink their miserable lives. As well as the misery they profit from. Shooting someone because you want a monopoly on the crack trade is pure greed. Cutting crack with Levamisole so you can stretch it and make more money while you give people flesh eating disease is pure greed. That has absolutely nothing to do with riding motorcycles.

I saw a group of divers heading out to the water after sunset. Turns out they weren’t divers they were swimmers with glow sticks and headlamps wanting to go for a swim and see the bioluminescence. Plankton that glow in the dark. That’s a whole new world I haven’t explored yet. There is so much out there you can’t find in a crack pipe or a bottle of Drano.

Police seize 28 kilos of cocaine in Edmonton

The Edmonton journal is reporting that the Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement (EDGE) unit seized 28 kilos of cocaine from an apartment complex in Edmonton last Friday. Police say the apartment was being used as a cocaine conversion lab. Inside, they also found 10.5 kilograms of a chemical agent used to convert powder cocaine to crack.

Jesse James Langevin, 27, of Edmonton, and Vincent Louie, 42, of Vancouver, have each been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and cocaine conversion. It would be worth finding out what the cutting agent was. Was it Levamisole again? Handing out free crack pipes so people don’t catch a cold while getting flesh eating disease is insane.

In an unrelated investigation that same day, EDGE executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of 105th Avenue and 117th Street, arresting three people and seizing a loaded 9-mm handgun with a silencer, a loaded magazine, a bulletproof vest, radio-jamming devices, three homemade GPS tracking devices and $31,700 in cash.

Cardoso said the handguns were later discovered to have been stolen from B.C. and Saskatchewan. Tevya Wesley Thickson, 22, Awet Mehari Ghebre, 23, and Francheska Quach, 26, face a total of more than two dozen weapons and drug-related charges. Guns and radio-jamming devices spells grow rips. Either that or they are talking over drug labs for the red and white like Uncle Joe in Salmon Arm.

In June Daniel Huddlestone, 34, and Cameron Monkman, 28, from a Hells Angels puppet club called the Malicious Crew were charged with attempted murder using a firearm, robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault and other weapons offences with regards to the Sylvan Lake shooting outside Red Deer.

Police said the latest wave of Hells Angel rivals in Alberta has been more persistent than previous attempts to set up shop in the province. The Calgary Herald is quoting the fact that Alex Caine claimed the Outlaws would be using Alberta as a stepping stone to challenge the Hells Angels in BC in his recent book. His next one about the Hells Angels should be out this fall.

Speaking of Jesse James Langevin, a blog reader from Edmonton sent me some pictures of him from his facebook. This one is him kissing his pal Dez Osborn. There are a lot of pictures of him and Dez. I just don’t get that man love. It sure doesn’t seem very manly.

Sadly that appears ot be one of his only friends.

Dez likes to brag about his support of the Edmonton Hells Angels. That’s what 81 51 means. 81 is HA for Hells Angels while 51 is EA for Edmonton Angels. The Hells Angels have a chapter in Westridge. That’s why he posted a red bandana with the words Support Westridge on it.

His current cover photo is a support shirt that says established 1997. That’s when the Hells Angels started chapters in Edmonton and Calgary.

Red and White 15th would be the 15th anniversary for the Hells Angels in Edmonton. I guess it’s pretty obvious who was supplying the cocaine in this bust.

One blog reader pointed out that they use sodium bicarbonate to make crack – baking soda. Yet the police said 10.5 kilos of the powder chemical agent used to make crack was valued at $52,000. I don’t think 10.5 kilos of baking soda costs that much. That leads me to believe it was a cutting agent used to stretch crack not make crack. That would lead me to believe it was in fact Levamisole since that is the most common cutting agent used and the price value would fit.

Update: The Edmonton Journal is reporting that the Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement Unit announced more arrests today. Lana Michelle Davies, 30, is facing charges of possession and trafficking. Police seized several firearms - including three handguns, two rifles and one sawed-off shotgun - as well as drugs, including 10 litres of gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), crystal meth, mushrooms and marijuana. Word is the red and white in Edmonton are scrambling for cover.

Police are now searching for William Stewart Culver, 30, who’s wanted on warrants for four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, as well as 29 various firearms charges. Culver is believed to be armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.

Update: I forgot to mention that William Culver turned himself in. I guess he isn't high enough up the food chain for them to hide him out in Argentina. He's no Surrey girl. He looks hard core. No Merle Norman eyebrows there. He looks like he'd shoot your ass dead without flinching.

Double shooting in Surrey

OK OK… back to the gang war. Two blog readers sent in links to the Twitter feed about police on scene in another Surrey Shooting at 126th Street and 59th avenue off Highway number 10 so I went over to get some pictures. Not that I don’t have anything better to do on the long weekend.

Global was on scene and is reporting that two male victims are in hospital after police received reports of gunfire exchanged between two cars in the 5800-block of 126th Street at around 2:45 PM. One of the males is in critical condition and the other suffered minor injuries.

Mounties said they are looking for two vehicles, a gold car and a dark-coloured minivan. Yet CTV is reporting that Witnesses described the vehicles as a gold-coloured compact car and a dark-coloured foreign sports car. Not much to go on. Didn’t anyone get a plate number? We’ve really gotta start doing that.

CBC is reporting that Surrey Memorial hospital emergency was in lockdown and closed to visitors after the two shooting victims turned up at the hospital. There were 17 yellow markers on the road. Assuming those represent shell casings. It appears several shots were exchanged.

Locals said that a lot of people smoke dope at the park there. I pointed out that nobody cares if anyone smokes dope. Not enough to shoot someone over. They also said drug deals were done there frequently since it’s beside a park and close to highway number 10. One witness even said they saw a drug deal go down right in front of the police there and the police didn’t do anything about it. I guess that would depend on what else they were selling. They will shoot you over crack. One would hate to think they shot a rival pot dealer but stranger things have happened.

Update: Kim Bolan is reporting that the guy seriously wounded in the shooting is the stepson of murdered gangster Sandip Duhre. Which once again shows that the Hells Angels extermination of their drug dealing rivals is continuing. Glad Bill Fordy met with them and says everything is A OK.
