Jamie Kehoe's Funeral
Jamie Kehoe’s funeral was held on Wednesday. The sign outside the funeral chapel said “For Jamie Always Think Twice Before You act.” A profound and stirring message given the untimely death of such a bright life just when it was ready to begin. Murdered for no reason. A senseless act of violence Tradic yet disturbing.
Nothing can change the fact that this heinous murder was senseless. The guy ran up to Jamie and slit his throat for no reason. Disturbing because it displays a complete lack of respect for human life.

Sure, but...Don't we know that while we lived in BC, Mao starved to death tens of millions in the *Great Leap Forward* of late '50's, early '60's...?
Or that easily within living memory, just 66 years ago, Hitler slaughtered six million Jews, etc...?
Or that in the Soviet Union, Lenin-Stalin murdered perhaps forty million men, women & children in GULAG...? And that a proud Officer of that SAME service that murdered those folks, the KGB, (then, just diff. initials, NKVD), is right NOW the President of Russia...?
Viewing this incredible scene, how anyone can be still *disturbed* by our times' utter indifference to any child's life, is a little strange to me...
It is just totally ordinary by now.
Yes Hitler, Stalin and Lenin committed mass murder. I guess I’m just naïve and idealistic. I just think people should have a greater value for human life. We can argue the death penalty back and forth but someone just arbitrarily walking up to someone and slitting their throat is so cold I do find it disturbing. Jesse Cadman, Mathew Martins, Michael Levy – we don’t seem to be making any real progress here.

ReplyDeleteThose numbers do seem a bit inflated.
ReplyDeleteI’ll have to check the math.
Don't forget about his guy, close to home;

He could've not had a license to sell there; territory is everything. Even a 15-year-old was hit bad.
Yeah I just finally blogged it thanks. Third Hells Angel shooting in Surrey in five weeks.

I've done it for you; and the results are infinitely worse than my few figures, I study Russian history for 30 years, and 20th century history.
The *Black Book of Communism* is written & exhaustively researched by French scholars, all of whom were SOCIALISTS.
"The Black Book of Communism: Crimes, Terror, Repression is a book authored by several European academics and edited by Stéphane Courtois, which describes a history of repressions, both political and civilian, by Communist states, including genocides, extrajudicial executions, deportations, and artificial famines. The book was originally published in 1997 in France ."
"In the introduction, editor Stéphane Courtois asserts that "...Communist regimes...turned mass crime into a full-blown system of government". He cites a death toll which totals 94 million, not counting the "excess deaths" (decrease of the population due to lower than-expected birth rates). The breakdown of the number of deaths given by Courtois is as follows:
* 65 million in the People's Republic of China
* 20 million in the Soviet Union
* 2 million in Cambodia
* 2 million in North Korea
* 1.7 million in Africa
* 1.5 million in Afghanistan
* 1 million in the Communist states of Eastern Europe
* 1 million in Vietnam
* 150,000 in Latin America
* "10,000 deaths "resulting from actions of the international Communist movement and Communist parties not in power."
"Courtois states that Communist regimes are responsible for a greater number of deaths than any other political ideal or movement, including Nazism. The statistics of victims includes executions, intentional destruction of population by starvation, and deaths resulting from deportations, physical confinement, or through forced labor."
"Courtois considers Communism and Nazism slightly different totalitarian systems. He claims that Communist regimes have killed "approximately 100 million people in contrast to the approximately 25 million victims of Nazis". Courtois states that Nazi Germany's methods of mass extermination were adopted from Soviet methods."
"Estimates for the number of victims in the Soviet Union range between 3.5 million and 60 million, and those for Mao Zedong's China range between 19.5 million and 75 million."

The total is around one hundred million dead.

"...6 million Jews...You're a sensationalist."
You're ignorant and don't read history, because the standard, academically-accepted number for Jewish deaths, has long been established by meticulous Nazi record-keeping @ 6 million. Wake up, read the history books, or go away.
