The Vancouver Sun is reporting that a Surrey man allegedly stole a large rental truck and, just after 1 a.m., drove it into six unoccupied cruisers parked outside a community policing station near Burnaby's Lougheed Mall. Surrey what?!
Police arrested the man after he got out of the truck and took him to Burnaby Hospital at 3 a.m. where he ripped out a sprinkler from the ceiling, causing a flood in the emergency room. Some patients being treated had to be relocated to a different section of the hospital. [Global video]
Absolutely PRICELESS! Though this kind of behaviour is outrageous, it speaks volumes to the bigger picture of RCMP sitting in detachments and not out with a full compliment of vehicles ON PATROL!!!
ReplyDelete^Not sure if I agree with your sentiment, good sir. To me it seems reasonable for a community police station to have a row of 6 cars in the lot at 1am. What really gets me is that this will be a bill for the taxpayers to foot. What a waste of money.
ReplyDeleteThe worse part about this is the guy will probably just get a little slap on the wrist for this. We have no law in Canada...not any more. We need to bring back punishment like the good ol' Cat o' Nine Tails. That would fix him.
