Natural gas from cow manure
On a more positive note, the local news is reporting that dairy farms in BC are taking their cow manure and combining it with organic waste to create natural gas. I kid you not. It's a bit more expensive to produce but is a completely clean and sustainable means of disposing of cow manure which otherwise creates a problem with air pollution and water contamination. It's also better than fracking for natural gas with contaminated water.
The Vancouver Province is reporting that Chris Bush is man behind Catalyst Power and B.C.’s first anaerobic digester, which takes cow manure and turns it into biomethane, a product similar to natural gas that is fed directly into a Fortis pipeline in Abbotsford. Well done.
