Fatal shooting in Langley
The Indo-Canadian Voice is reporting that "ON Thursday, October 20 just after 11 p.m., Langley RCMP was called to the 7700-block of 211B Street following a report of a shooting. Police located an adult victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene. A short time later, a Ford F150 fully engulfed in flames was located in the area of 232 Street and 76 Avenue." The Langley Advance is reporting that "A series of bullet holes can be seen in the drivers side window of a SUV." That's yet another illegal gun and magazine BTW.
Mag dump.
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiosity, can anyone explain, how come the window did not shatter, due to all those bullets?
ReplyDeleteBullets are small and fast. So fast they go right through the window without shattering it. A shotgun spreads out and would shatter it. If you threw a rock through a window that was small enough and fast enough, you'd get the same effect.
DeleteIn addition to Dennis explanation which is correct, window glass in vehicles is "safety glass", which is laminated with layers of glass and plastic, it's easier to see with windshields as they are thicker. Safety glass when it shatters produces small "kernals" for lack of a better word rather than those long sharp "shards" like older windows in houses/buildings.Even newer glass in commercial buildings is constructed this way for liability reasons.
DeleteThese are some pictures of bullet holes in the window of a business in Surrey:

Just correcting the comment re: safety glass. Windshields are safety glass, all of the other glass is just tempered glass. Source: I am a former fire fighter
DeleteNice grouping
ReplyDeleteIndeed. However, I'm guessing the assailant was pretty close to the target.
