Deep snow on Mount Seymour past Brockton Point
I went snowshoeing on Seymour today. A week and two days after surgery. The snow was awesome. Usually the trail on Seymour is well packed and you just need crampons but today there was a bit of fresh snow and after Brockton point it was very deep. People with crampons were sinking up to their waste after Brockton point. Snowshoes or backcountry skis were better after that point today. It might rain on the weekend which will help to pack it down.
I made it 3/4 the way up to the base of the bowl on First peak but it got a bit steep and slippery from all the snow blowing in the wind so I turned back. I don't want to blow out my hernia again. I want it to heal properly before I hit it hard.
This snowpack will last several months.
You should have a weekly podcast on Spotify. Time to move up in the world.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very interesting idea. I'm not sure how that work. I'll have to look into that.
DeleteWell, it wouldn't be like the blog. You'd be able to continue to use it as a platform as you do here of course, you are going to voice your opinions and viewpoints during your discussions, but I say discussions because you're going to need something else. You're going to need guests. Now, you'll be able to get through a good long while just interviewing people who are completely onside with you on various issues, but that will only go so far. Look at Joe Rogan. He has people on there that he disagrees with more at the beginning of a show than at the end, and them the same. And his model is the most successful one out there for a podcast, period. He is now the 500lb monkey no one can screw with, at all. And he's rich.
ReplyDeleteBasically every podcast that is just one guy talking never works. Also, if there's any degree of popularity and you can sell enough advertising to believe there is some upward mobility to it, it winds up replacing a job because all the podcasts at that level are 3-4 hrs and require more guests to be available, research, pre-production, etc..
As with the original commentor, I do see room for a successful podcast here that is more Canadian oriented, that could also become well known down south because a lot of the subjects and issues are global(ist) in nature. You would need to be controversial because that's what attracts viewers but I think you'd not find that difficult. Good luck.
I like the What'sherface vlog. Having guests on would be a good idea but that might be next level. I hate Youtube because of the censorship but a free spotify account might work. The fact that Youtube demonetizes everyone who expresses a conservative viewpoint is absurd. There are a lot of crazy things going on in the world that need to be addressed.
DeleteBit of an expense setting up equipment etc. Maybe a GoFundMe to get set up?
ReplyDeleteI don't think a Gofundme will be necessary because most vlogs you can set up through your laptop. I'll look into it.
DeleteWhat about a Spotify for audio and rumble if your interested in the video/visual aspect of a conversation. I would be interested in that, especially of you can get both sides of the aisle to come on and talk honestly. Everyone from a Local, Provincial and Federal perspective. Your resume already speaks for itself.
ReplyDeleteWould honestly love to see something like what Patrick Bet-David is doing, but from a Canadian angle. I think with you stance, you may be a great person to pull it off.
