The Langley Advance times is reporting that "A Maple Ridge man is now facing a second-degree murder charge in connection to the death of 41-year-old Arthur Comeau in April of 2022.
The incident occurred on April 28, when Ridge Meadows RCMP were called to the 12300-block of Carlton Street to investigate reports of multiple shots being fired.
Upon arrival, Comeau was found injured with several gunshot wounds, which he succumbed to on scene."
"The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the investigation and were able to identify 31-year-old Justin Wareing as the primary suspect.
On June 8, 2023, a second-degree murder charge was officially laid against Wareing, with the case now going before the courts."
Justin Michael Wareing was also charged in the murder of Cashmere Ali in Maple Ridge on July 15 2022. CTV reported that he was arrested days after the shooting. CBC reported that he was known to pose a significant public safety risk to the city of Maple Ridge at the time of the second fatal shooting.
Wareing was born in 1991 and was charged in a December 18 2018 robbery in Vancouver for which he was found guilty on July 14 2020.
There is a publication ban on the other charges he faced in Surrey court at that time.
He was charged with breach of probation in 2010 but it doesn't say what he was on probation for. He was found guilty of a March 11 2017 assault in Maple Ridge. It was a K file so that means it was a domestic assault.
His 2023 murder charge is also covered by a publication ban.
Darr Khunkhun was shot dead in Maple Ridge April 9th 2022.
