The Regina Police service is reporting that "At around 12:15 a.m. on April 26th, 2024, the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit (SGU), supported by the Tactical Support Unit (TSU), was executing a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Retallack St.
During this search warrant execution there was an accidental discharge of a police officer’s firearm, which struck another police officer. This officer sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. No members of the public were injured during this incident."
Wow, this was the Street Gang Unit and the Tactical Support Unit executing a search warrant. The whole point of firearm safely is to avoid accidental discharges.
At least it wasn't as bad as the RCMP officer in Surrey who shot herself in the foot drawing her firearm. She radioed in saying she'd been shot and they sent the dogs out who shot the unarmed kid dead. They thought the kid shot her. She said on the radio, I think I shot myself. The alpha dogs didn't hear that part and decided to play judge, jury and executioner. Then she lied in court and said she shot the kid.
The kid was hysterical running to the police for help screaming they're trying to kill me. Instead of trying to calm the kid down she pulled out her firearm and shot herself in the foot. She later lied to the court and said she was the one that shot him 9 times. She was not. She's not going to fatally shoot the kid 9 times after she shot herself in the foot. Other officers shot the kid in retaliation. She lied and the other officers got off. That is the Surrey RCMP. His name was Hudson Brooks.
How many police officers have to be injured before we finally make them give up their guns?
ReplyDeleteLol. That makes about as much sense as the civilian gun control except worse. Police without guns would be a bad idea : ) I think the border agents finally got them after they had a walk out. Border agents without guns is a bad idea too.
DeleteThe Surrey RCMP need to be dissolved. That whole division is corrupt!
ReplyDeleteI think a division is provincial as in E Division. Surrey needs it's own force. You can't stop progress forever.
DeleteQuestion is why are they serving a search warrant at 12am when it's dark. Sounds like a situation where shits only gonna go wrong..??
ReplyDeleteI assume they were going for the element of surprise. It was obviously an accident and a tragedy that is being investigated. It's like when you're hunting. You need to be aware of what's behind your target. When you have people entering from the front and rear, you need to be mindful of that. The more people you have the more trickier it becomes.
DeleteThe RCMP Green Team used to have a policy of never doing warrant service after dark for fear of being mistaken for a grow rip crew. Looks like there are other reasons to have daylight on your side.
ReplyDeleteI can tell them what went wrong, and here it is, the officer with the negligent discharge had their finger on the trigger. Period.
ReplyDeleteI guarantee you the proof of that is either down at Forensics or has already been destroyed deliberately, none of the bullets taken out of Hudson's body at autopsy matched the female officers gun.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that's true. They all use the same service pistol. My point was, if she panicked and shot herself in the foot, there's no way she regained her composure to shoot and hit him 9 times after she shot herself in the foot. After she shot herself in the foot he ran past her. If she had shot him at the time she would have said I'm shot and I shot someone meaning two people require medical assistance not just one.
DeleteBallistics is just going to say he was shot with a 9 mm. However, as you say, if her magazine still had nine bullets in it and she only fired one round, that evidence would have been likely omitted from the report.
