I'm not wearing a poppy for Remembrance Day this year and I'll explain why. We have forgotten what the poppy was supposed to represent. Remembering the noble sacrifice of soldiers service is a good thing. Betraying their cause is not.
When we think of poppies and Remembrance Day we think of trench warfare in the First and Second world war. The second world war implemented the Holocaust. The famous poem In Flanders' Fields was at the end of the First World War which ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
"Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields."
In 2026 we've come full circle. We're supporting a genocide instead of fighting against it. We have betrayed those soldier's sacrifice. Our pride has turned to arrogance supporting atrocities. Several years ago I made a blog post about going from Flanders' Fields in France to opium fields in Afghanistan and said Maggie, what have we done?
The Taliban brought opium production in Afghanistan to a grinding halt. Then after the allied invasion, Afghanistan returned to being the largest producers of opium in the world. What the CIA did secretly in Vietnam, they did openly in Afghanistan. Then came the Oil Wars, Cobalt Wars and the rise of over paid mercenaries through Erik Prince of Darkness and the private military contractors. This was another betrayal of the true meaning of the poppy.
The sole purpose of the unprovoked war with Iran was to support the unprovoked invasion of Lebanon. Genocide and expansionism. The very quest we opposed in the First and Second World War. The Gaza genocide is an atrocity based on lies. Selling beach front property and building casinos on the graves of dead Palestinian children is sheer Satanism.
In the last US Mid Term election we saw how unpopular the Iran war is. Pierre Poilievre would have joined right in. Yet that doesn't make Mark Carney good becuase he's not. He has his own dark and devious agenda. Two wrongs don't make a right. Two wrongs are simply both wrong. Both extremes lead to the same place: the UN's New World Order.

Politicans can fight their own wars.
