The Nova Scotia source legislation for the new "don't take a hike" proclamation, is actually more draconian than the gov is letting on: a one-week hiking trip could in theory lead to $3.5M in fines ($500k per day), & 3.5 years in jail (6 months for each hiking day).

They wrote me a similar ticket for not complying with some of their COVID guidelines, same color of paper, a little smaller, $3500. Never paid it. Still have it around somewhere. They're trying to scare people.

Indeed it sounds like Covid. $3,500 to $25,000. That's quite a jump. Both are ridiculous. Going after hiking, biking and fishing is a violation of the mobility rights in the Charter. One of the problems is people who smoke in the back country. They're using that to once again restrict your mobility
