CBC is reporting that "Two bodies that were found Saturday in the B.C. Interior are confirmed to be those of missing Surrey men, Ryan Provencher, 38, and Richard Scurr, 37. Lytton RCMP officers were called to a rural area near Ashcroft, B.C., about 100 kilometres west of Kamloops, for a report that two bodies had been discovered at the site, north of Spences Bridge. RCMP confirmed Tuesday that the bodies are those of Provencher and Scurr. Police believe the cause of their deaths is criminal in nature, and the RCMP's major crime unit in the southeast district is now investigating." Condolences to the families.
this does make one wonder what is going on in the area. Ben Tyner disappeared in the area and it was reported police think he met with foul play, only his horse returned.

That whole area is connected by roads, used to drive through the area a lot and up and down roads back in the 1980/90s. Beautiful country........wonder what the RCMP really know.....if any thing.

Deleteillegal grow ops, doubt it. a lot of the country is too open and they could be seen from the air. even large barns, aren't seen a lot, when I used to go up there. If they are killed because of illegal activities I'd suggest killing of wild life for profit and export.
ReplyDeletethe search for Tynor was extensive and thorough. If it were grow ops, they would have been found. the general distance isn't that big. Princeton to Merritt to Logan Lake, Ashcroft, etc. doesn't take long to travel on the roads.
Getting to Missula Lake from Princeton, 30, 40 minutes.
Outside of Merritt is the Douglas Lake Cattle Company its very large and has several lakes and a resort on it and owned now by an American billionaire. there is a gravel round which you can take from outside of Vernon, through the ranch and arrive in Merritt. Took it a few times back in the 1970s.
There is lots of terrain to "get lost in", but the area itself isn't that large. The forests in the area aren't as dense as they are on the west coast, as I recall.
