Hopedale RCMP arrested and charged a woman who was operating a snowmobile on the night of April 10, 2023. She was charged with impaired operation and driving while prohibited in Canada. Prohibited from driving a snowmobile? How does that happen? You don't need a liscense to ride a snowmobile do you? Are they driving on the road?
BTW What the hell is Saint Pierre and Miquelon? France owns a piece of Newfoundland? I did not know that. My daughter wants to know why the town of Dildo is beside Conception bay?
They seized and impounded their Snowmobile. So she can pay to get it out of their impound yard. RCMP are road pirates, stealing the people's money.

DeleteYes, there have always been a couple of small islands which be long to France. People living there are French citizens, payFrench taxes and enjoy benefits from the French government. If they are seriously ill and need medical attention, they are flown to France. They are treated just as if they lived in Paris. Of course that will now mean they will have to wait until they are 64 instead of 62 to retire. Some years ago there was a small documentary on the Islands. It was informative and interesting.
ReplyDeleteAs to being charged with driving a snow mobile while impaired, not knowing the actual laws in that area, its happened before. I recall there were charges for being drunk while riding a bike. That was about 40 years ago, but yes. As I say, don't know the actual law they used to charge people but it is interesting.
There are laws on the books in Canada, U.S.A., Europe which are quite strange and some which are very out dated.

DeleteThose island are a hot spot for booze smuggling, have been for generations. They’re part of France’s DOM-TOM overseas departments similar to Martinique & Guadeloupe in the Caribbean and New Caledonia in the Pacific. Kinda like the British Falkland Islands, holdovers from the colonial days

ReplyDeleteIf you are driving a motorized vehicle impaired you lose your license just like it was a car ATV, Snowmobile... doesn't matter.
Yeah but you don't need a license to drive a snowmobile or an ATV do you?
DeleteThey drive snowmobiles on the road in Newfoundland, due to large amounts of snow, I’m not sure if it’s legal but they do it , she more than likely had conditions to not be operating any motorized vehicles, you also lose your license for operating a motorized vehicle impaired, even a ride on lawnmower, those islands are islands that were never claimed by Britain or Canada , they missed them during the process of becoming Canada , Newfoundland wasn’t part of Canada when Canada first became a country it was part of Britain , they used to drive on other side of road there and the islands are still a French colony or part of France because that is who originally claimed them
