Bear Creek Lights: Soulless in Surrey

We went to the outdoor light display at Bear Creek tonight. It was a bit anti climatic. It was nice buy a bit empty. We've been once before several years ago but I keep missing it because it shuts down so early. November 20th is the last day. 

It's free but you need to order tickets in advance and every day is sold out. They say you can also show up on standby which is what we did. It's kind of a weird time. After Diwali and before Christmas. So what's the occasion? It's impossible to tell. 

There's absolutely nothing there that has anything to do with Christmas or anything else for that matter. It kind of felt empty and soulless. Lac La Farge is better and is open in December but with all those lights you won't see a single nativity. I don't think they have any reference to Christmas either. 

In Latin countries the lights are much more festive.
