The Surrey Now Leader is reporting that Semiahmoo First Nation Chief Harley Chappell has resigned in response to the firing of Surrey Police Chief Norm Lipinski. Sounds like more dirty politics from the bitter Save the Surrey RCMP crew.
CBC is reporting that "Now-former chair Harley Chappell said the board made the decision to fire Lipinski at a special meeting that Chappell did not attend. In his resignation letter shared with CBC News, Chappell said he feels the decision violates the board's governance policies and the provincial Police Act."
"I feel the political tentacles and pressures have reached far too deeply into our newly formed SPS board, and I morally and ethically cannot be part of this moving forward."
"The Surrey Police Union said it was concerned about the transparency around the end of Lipinski's tenure. Union president Ryan Buhrig said in a letter to members, before the board confirmed Lipinski had left, that police board members were not returning his calls."
"In the letter, which was obtained by CBC Newsm Buhrig questioned whether Lipinski is taking the blame for challenges that were created by Mayor Brenda Locke, the City of Surrey, and the Province of British Columbia." (and CSIS)

It’s obvious that Brenda Lockeness Monster got rid of him. She’s horrible.
ReplyDeleteYikes! This would make a pretty good Netflix miniseries.
ReplyDeleteBrenda apparently says that she had nothing to do with Norm Lipinski getting terminated. Like…really? I’m not buying what she’s trying to sell. She’s so full of it that’s it’s very plain for all to see. I look forward to October 18 at when we finally vote her out of office.
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes! Just when this circus couldn’t get any crazier, it just did because another person named James Carwana resigned from the board! Apparently, he was against Terminating Norm. There’s an article in the Province about it. And now Rob Stutt is replacing Harley Chappell as the chair. Rob worked in the RCMP and has children also working in that organization…boy, talk about conflict of interest.
ReplyDeleteYeah, everyone is resigning now those bitter sh*t bags have total control.
DeleteI guess they need to be sued.
