One person was struck by a hammer, she noted. All four victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment, and the suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of first responders. Police initially said two of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries, but in the update at the scene, Smith confirmed that their injuries are now believed to be life-altering.
