Kelowna Boat Collision

CBC is reporting that "A dozen people were taken to hospital after two boats collided on Okanagan Lake near the William R. Bennett Bridge in Kelowna Wednesday night, according to B.C. Emergency Health Service."

Tragic and baffling. They say alcohol or conditions weren't a factor. The only thing I can think of is one boat was anchored without lights on and another boat didn't see it but it was one 40 minutes after sunset so it wasn't pitch black out. If a boat is traveling at night surely it has some kind of headlight. We kayak at night with headlamps so we can see and be seen.
