As fires still rage and draconian "woods bans" remain in place, perfectly air worthy water bombers sit idle on the tarmac because there is no one to crew them.

Meanwhile, massive flooding in Punjab province. https://apnews.com/article/pakistan-punjab-province-flood-india-river-dam-d73ee603002a018fe1611c862e7e9fec?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us
ReplyDeleteThat's because Modi is weaponizing the Dams. Instead of using the Dams to hold back water in the wet season and release it in the dry season, he's holding back the water during the dry season to starve out farmers. Then he releases it during the wet season to create massive flooding. Modi did the same thing to Pakistan.
DeleteI'm thinking there's quite a few pilots in the Canadian Forces who could be flying these things. If you can fly a fully loaded C-130, you can fly a water bomber after no more than a familiarization course on the specific air frame followed by a check ride. Landing on water and then taking off, but then again, this is "pilot stuff".
ReplyDeleteThey don't want to hire pilots. They just want to hire guys with shovels. Kind of like spitting in the wind. Students used to come here and fly float planes during forest fire season to get hours for their commercial pilots license.
