Fatal shooting in Amherst Nova Scotia

CBC is reporting that "Police in Amherst, N.S., are turning to the public for tips after a man was shot on Prince Arthur Street on Monday evening and later died from his injuries.

According to a Facebook post by the Amherst Police Department, a report was made at 6:51 p.m. about a man who appeared to be injured on the ground. When police arrived, they found a man who was seriously wounded and sustained a single gunshot wound."

"The man was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said. 'Those responsible fled the scene in a vehicle after the incident,' police said in an update on Facebook. In response to concern in the community, the Cumberland Homelessness and Housing Support Association said in a Facebook post that the incident happened near its facility, but that its staff and guests were not involved."

  1. I heard the victim was a drug dealer and I heard the shelter is under investigation for the guests selling drugs on property.

    1. That was my first suspicion but I wanted to give the shelter the benefit of the doubt. In BC we have a huge problem with drug dealers selling drugs at detox centers. That's predatory. They are trying to get clean. Leave them alone.
