RCMP motorcycle training exercise crash in Surrey

City News is reporting that "An RCMP officer has been injured during a training exercise in Surrey. Officers were conducting a traffic-related exercise at 152nd Street and 100th Avenue when a collision occurred, police say."

"Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient and transported this patient to hospital in stable condition. Houghton says the training was being conducted by the Integrated Road Safety Unit."

The bike doesn't look damaged so it doesn't appear to be major.

Update: Fraser Valley Today is reporting that "Police accidentally bumped bikes while travelling southbound on 96 Avenue and 152 Street in an RCMP training exercise Saturday morning, sending one officer to hospital with serious injuries."

"On April 4, at around 10:10 a.m., officers from various RCMP units were participating in a Motorcycle Escort re‑certification course in Surrey when a BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) officer in a fully marked RCMP motorbike was rear-ended by another BCHP officer." This wasn't a drill team doing stunts.

    1. Indeed. I have to admit there must be more to the story. How does someone just fall off their motorcycle on a sunny day with dry pavement? What kind of traffic related exercises were they doing in the middle of traffic on 152nd on a Saturday?
