Explosion and fire at Wainwright military base

There was an explosion and fire at a military base in Wainright Alberta on Saturday that killed 4 and critically injured 19. Mark Carney gave a nails on a chalkboard address talking about it without saying anything about what caused the explosion and fire. Now the media is spinning it as a grass fire.

CTV is reporting that "The Department of National Defence has said that there are no indications that the fire and explosion at CFB Wainwright was a terrorist attack." So the fire was the result of an explosion during a training exercise.

The mayor said he heard shelling then a pause and assumed they stopped the exercise due to the high winds. This news report claims they were throwing grenades which is what likely caused the grass fire. So why can't we just say that? It was an accident. Why go on and on about other things?

Obviously the loss of any human life is a tragedy especially military personnel during a training exercise. Before the oil wars and state sanctioned genocides, the military has always been seen as a noble force for good. We just need to keep it that way and take the mercenaries and the political atrocities out of it.

  1. This control the narrative at all cost official announcements are pathetic.
The Canadian government really shows its cards when everything becomes a matter of controlling the narrative.
Accidents do happen and people understand that. What people don't understand is a cloak of secrecy over trying to figure out and investigate said accidents.

It's amazing how little truth matters to most people these days.

  2. I saw this on Global news "A preliminary investigation into the deadly fire at CFB Wainwright suggests a munition from a live training exercise sparked a fast-moving grass fire, causing Saturday’s explosion, according to multiple military sources."

    1. "munition from a live training exercise sparked a fast-moving grass fire" makes the most sense. Let's hope it was a normal training exercise and not practicing preignitions:

    2. Jeez I didn't even think of that, now they say it was on an automatic grenade launcher range but still not saying what started it. A incendiary grenade would do it just guessing.

    3. The military also helps with fighting forest fires including with preignitions. I certainly hope that's not what this was.
