First water lily bloom of the season. I have these in pots of water on my patio because they look like lotus but you can grow them in our climate. It's kind of Zen. Rise above it all like the lotus.
It's interesting how animates these things are. They open up in the sunshine and close in the rain or at night. It's as though they're alive. I know all plants are alive so to speak but these are responsive like Venus fly traps. This last picture is early evening taken after the previous two pictures during the day.
