I don't want to hate, I just want to state the obvious. The US Constitution is without question an inspired document and a model for free republics. However, this reoccurring government shut down every time the polarized parties can't agree on a budget is an insane flaw in that system. I don't know of any other country in the world that has that problem.
It's what you would call a manufactured emergency. I remember when I first heard about it happening several years ago I thought it was very strange. If the politicians can't agree on a budget, none of the government workers get paid but the politicians do. Bizarre. Since then it has happened so many times it has become a regular occurrence.
This time is the longest in history and none of the politicians care. If the government can't agree on a budget, government employees should still get paid. That's insane. If anything, the politicians shouldn't get paid. That's the only thing that would make sense. Someone should make an amendment to fix that.
I voted again to pay federal workers, soldiers and to change the law so workers, soldiers are always paid during any future shutdowns.

It's wrong that ICE agents are getting paid but other essential federal workers are not. In fact, it's outrageous!

Your right, but all of the members of Congress and the Senate only talk a good game. When is Rand Paul going to haul Dr. Fauci back before congress?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately Fauci is just one of many.
