Update: Ryan Wedding was not bigger than Raynald Desjardin
The Montreal Gazette is reporting that "A Laval resident who was sought by the RCMP since 2023 in a cocaine trafficking investigation led by the RCMP was arrested in Mexico last week. According to La Presse, Adham Haouili, 43, the son-in-law of Montreal Mob boss Raynald Desjardins, 72, was arrested Friday afternoon at Mexico City International Airport, where he planned to meet his wife. On Monday, the RCMP division based in Westmount confirmed the arrest."
"For decades, Desjardins has been described by police as being among the highest-ranking members of organized crime in Quebec. In the past, he was close to the Rizzuto organization, but an investigation revealed that about 15 years ago he was part of a group that tried to take control of the Montreal Mafia away from the Rizzutos." That would be the Calabrians out of Hamilton. Laval is Red and White.
William Thomas Webber and Benoit David, also charged in Project Camelot were arrested last August. The CFSEU in Quebec make drug busts. Too bad the CFSEU in BC is useless.
Raynald names carries serious weight. Is he still a big time player or is he retired ?
ReplyDeleteQuebec organized crime isn't my specialty. That's the EasternCanadianCrimeReport's beat. Desjardins betrayed the Rizzutos. That means he went to the Calabrians out of Hamilton. His name does carry weight. I vaguely remember something about an informant ratting some of them out.

ReplyDeleteYes. They were and are. They moved into Montreal when the Quebec Hells Angels went to jail with the support of the Ontario Hells Angels and Stadnick. Then when the Quebec Hells Angels got out of jail they refused to leave and the Ontario Hells Angels refused to give them their jurisdiction back. The also have the support of CSIS and the FBI. I didn't make that up about the Calabrians from Hamilton. A French girl in Quebec told me. She said the locals all knew about it.

DeleteThe Calabrians had Hamilton and Ontario. The Rizzutos had Montreal and Quebec. The Calabrians got greedy and wanted it all. Stadnick and the Ontario Hells Angels caused the war which is now supported by the FBI.
