Ontario makes more Fentanyl busts, BC doesn't

Orillia Matters is reporting that "Four Richmond Hill residents are among 23 people charged and more than $7 million worth of fentanyl and weapons seized in York Region and the Greater Toronto Area. The investigation, dubbed Project Chatter, began in October, when police learned someone was involved in the trafficking of drugs in the GTA." 15 kilos of fentanyl.

Global is reporting that “Thirty-two illegal firearms that were taken off the streets and of the 24 that we’ve received tracing information back so far, 23 come back as originating in the United States of America, with one from here in Canada.”

The rest can't be traced because they are throw aways smuggled in from the US. The Toronto Sun has a video with pictures of some of the suspects over the years.

Orillia Matters listed everyone charged and their charges.

  1. Am I the only one who notices that the amount of money seized vs the value of the drugs seized is always heavily out of whack? The two numbers are never even close.

  2. Yeah pretty sad how there are all these arrests of weight elsewhere and none here. It feels like guys are just collecting a paycheck for showing up and either not putting in the work at the least, or being bought off at worst.

  3. That list of charges is pretty crazy, and yet we know they will all be out in a few years. In a way we deserve what we are getting, because we have proven ourselves willing to tolerate it.
