Surf's up. Finally. Grouse Mountain opened today and Cyprus opens tomorrow for skiing and snowboarding. I've been keeping my eyes peeled on the webcams. All this rain we've had has been mostly rain on the mountains but the temperature finally dropped and they just got a foot and a half of snow.
I was going to go snowshoeing on Sky Chair today but they had groomers all over the place. The Hollyburn ridge snowshoe trail had nice fresh snow on it. Very pristine snowshoeing in fresh snow but a lot of work if you're breaking trail going up the mountain. Made arrangements to purchase a new motorcycle. New year, new ride. I can finally breathe again.
Whistler has snow and is open. Silver star in Vernon has snow and is open. Big White in Kelowna has snow and is open. Sun Peaks north east of Kamloops has snow and opened today. Revelstoke has snow and is open. The season has begun.
