The Force has awakened: Trudeaumania has begun

The morning breaks, the shadows flee. Canadians have spoken. Justin Trudeau's campaign was one of hope and tolerance over Harper's hate and fear. One of the slogans on facebook was "I don't hate my neighbors. They make me samosas." Harper's legacy is one of hate, intolerance, fiscal irresponsibility and tax paid propaganda. Stephen Harper abandoned every traditional conservative principle known to man. He took the Reform Party and merged with Mulroneyism, the very entity the Reform Party was created to oppose. Canada is better than that. That's why Dona Cadman pulled her support. Hamilton made us proud to be Canadian. Thomas Mulcair was a good man. It's time for all of us to move forward. Peace.

Update: I will say this: civil liberty is important. Justin's father, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, was the one who gave us the sacred Charter of Rights. That was a good thing. We can debate property rights and gun ownership until the cows come home. The right to a fair trial, the right to have a lawyer, the need to be charged with an offense before being arrested and detained, the protection from unnecessary searches and seizures as well as protection from warantless surveillance are all fundamental rights in any democratic society. Those same rights are found in the US Bill of Rights as well as the Canadian Charter of Rights.

I did not endorse Justin Trudeau during his campaign. At first I was exited about the idea of him running but was shocked when he voted with Harper to throw away the Charter of Rights his own father gave us. In those votes, Thomas Mulcair supported the Charter of Rights, Justin Trudeau did not. Harper was the evil emperor who did everything in his power to crush those rights.

I am encouraged by the fact that Justin is determined to amend the hated Bill C-51 immediately. Amending it isn't good enough. It needs to be thrown out because it is illegal. It violates the Charter of Rights which is the highest law of this land. I am hopeful he is not paying lip service to civil liberty. I am hopeful that we can now celebrate the anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights, something Harper refused to do. I am hopeful that now we can once again protect civil liberty after Stephen Harper destroyed it.

I am encouraged Justin has notified Obama that he will keep his campaign promise and end Canada's participation with bombing raids in Syria. Canada had a long history of peace keeping established by Lester B Person who won the Nobel Peace prize in 1957. Before Stephen Harper, Canada never had a reputation for invading other countries. Canadians were always the diplomats trying to keep the peace. We took combat roles in WWI and WWII as well as in the Korean war because we were helping liberate countries who were invaded and oppressed.

During the last US election, Donald Trump stated his position on the war in Libya. He said he would invade them and take their oil. He said when you go to war and you win, that is the spoils of war. Donald Trump was simply an honest George Bush. He was however, not a patriot. The American revolution was about putting an end to imperialism and creating a free republic. It was not about creating a new super power to take over and rob the world. The American Constitution protects a free republic. It does not create an empire that takes over other countries and turns them into colonies. I seem to remember some split tea over taxation without representation.

Chretien was right for not participating in the invasion of Iraq which was based on a premeditated lie. MI 6 gave the media false information about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. The US sold Saddam Hussein chemical weapons to use on Iran just like England sold Chemical weapons to Syria. Canada was wrong for helping Sarkozy, le chien sale, execute Gaddafi for choosing to buy a reactor from Argentina instead of France. History has recorded that.

Justin Trudeau scraping Harper's fleet of F-35's is a good thing. The F-35's are a bad investment. They are expensive to maintain, Canada can't facilitate the air to air refueling and they don't work in Canada's arctic so they aren't for defending Canada, they are for invading other countries for their oil. The Boeing Super hornet is a much better investment. Boeing is good. Lockheed Martin is bad.

If we want to confront ISIS in Syria then we are going to have to explain why Stephen Harper's body guard and CSIS were funding them. If we want to confront terrorism in Canada we need to charge CSIS with murder for supplying the explosives for the Air India bombing. We need to stop spending millions of tax dollars trying to turn drug addicts into terrorists. What happened to John Nuttal in Surrey wasn't just entrapment, it was unethical. I've heard talk about a new missing woman's inquiry. How about a missing money inquiry? How about investigating the billions of dollars CSIS and the RCMP's anti terror unit lose not just spend from their budget every year. That is theft. When you give a drug addict thousands of dollars to commit a terrorist act and the C-4 explosives to do it, you haven't saved the world from a terrorist, you just created one.

So let's hope Justin Trudeau can restore Canadian dignity which Stephen Harper desecrated. The Empire will not strike back on my blog simply because in Canada the Force has awakened. Trudeaumania has begun. Gentlemen may cry conspiracy theory conspiracy theory but there is no theory. The conspiracy has already begun. This is the new Star Wars trailer. Peace.

Happy Halloween! One comment on Justin Trudeau's family Halloween picture was "Canada's own royal family." Young girls on twitter said Canada's new Prime Minister looks like a Disney Prince.

Warning: Attacks on civil liberty disguised as free trade

Justin Trudeau promotes trade agreement with Japan. Is this really a trade agreement or does it really do away with civil liberty like FIPA and all the others? Free trade is good. Compensation awards and removing civil liberty is not. The problem with NAFTA was the chapter 11 compensation awards. It gives corporations the right to sue the government under closed door tribunals not courts, and get financial compensation if the government prevents the corporation from doing something harmful. That is insane. It gave one corporation a lump sum of tax dollars because the government wouldn't let them dump toxic chemicals in Canada.

The compensation awards are bad business for tax payers financially and they remove citizens' democratic rights. Instead of elimination this provision from successive trade agreements, each trade agreement has made this insanity worse. Civil liberty is still under attack.

  1. I can appreciate Liberal optimism as much as the next person but.......Harper was the stern father who didnt buy stuff he couldnt afford (read balanced budget) and treated all his kids the same (read Hijab) and disciplined fairly when required (read the 2 for 1 time served he abolished) and stood with our allies and protectors (read ISIS). I guess now that I'm a 55 yr old father of 2 and have been a victim of property crime several times I can appreciate a Leader with conviction and principals. Good luck to all of you who voted for change and make sure you are first in line to give Jamie Bacon a "hug" when he is released early for good behaviour.

    1. That is ridiculous. Stephen Harper and Dianne Watts were anything BUT fiscally responsible. 65 billion plus on a bank bailout the banks didn't need. 4 billion plus on a spy palace to spy on Canadians without a warrant. A fleet of F-35's that don't work in the arctic, are expensive to maintain and have to be refueled in air which is incompatible with Canada's current air-to-air refuelling fleet. The Boeing Super Hornet is fiscally responsible. Harper's insider trading F-35s are not.

Protect us from ISIS? Stephen Harper's own bodyguard was caught red handed funding ISIS in Syria. Dianne Watts spent all her time and budget going after grow ops and did absolutely nothing about the crack dealers selling crack outside businesses in Newton and Whalley. Don’t waste my time with your offensive lies.

  2. While Harper indeed needed to go for all the reasons you mention and more besides, the idea of Justin Trudeau as PM does not give me the warm and fuzzies.....

Canadians will be very lucky to get out from under his regime without losing all their guns. Think an Australian/British style "turn them in" situation.

In other news, shovel sales are way up.......

    1. Time will tell but I personally don't think he's going to f*ck with the gun owners from the get go. Why would he? He's riding a tide of popularity. There is no need for him to piss people off. That's a Gordon Campbell, Brian Mulroney / Stephen Harper move. All three fell and were despised because of their arrogance and their determination to piss off voters. Justin has already done some things that have impressed me and restored my faith in Canada.

    2. Hey, I like your blog and how it exposes old school yard bullies (read gangsters) but if you think Justin will be tougher on crime than Harper then your touque is on too tight. Eight years of Chretien and they never touched the 2 for 1. Whatever Jamie gets in the end he will still get double credit for time served right? Right? Their idea of tough on crime was making my 78 year old dad register his deer gun.

    3. That's the root of the problem. One fact is somehow supposed to erase and over rule 20 malicious lies when the one fact is yet another malicious lie. Stephen Harper was not tough on crime.

Harper cut funding for prisons and implemented mandatory minimum sentences for the possession of pot. That prevented us from being able to afford to deal with violent crime. His advisers were all criminals and fraudsters like Bruce Carson and Arthur Porter.

Diane Watts was not tough on crime. She did absolutely nothing about the crack dealers that were causing all the violence. True Paul Martin gave us Peter Leask, but Harper gave us Jacques Leger. Harper appointed a Hells Agnels lawyer to the bench in Quebec. That was messed up.

Yes Jamie Bacon is a pos but he was just a puppet for the Hells Angles. Locking him in jail for 300 years will solve nothing. The Hells Angels will just get another puppet. We need judicial reform. We need to be able to get rid of bad judges. We don't need to promote Hells Angles lawyers to the bench. That is part of the problem not the solution.

    4. Here's what a lifelong Liberal Senator has in mind for you if you own a gun in Canada. Only a minimum of reading between the lines is necessary. It doesn't mention it here but another one of her goals is that ALL HANDGUNS confiscated. Of course they don't say confiscated, they say "buy back", or "turn in". Much more reasonable sounding, but the end result is the same.

      http://eurekablog.ca/index.php?cID=666Senator

"Gun control" types (by which we really mean people control) know they cannot eat the elephant all in one bite. Incrementalist tactics are part of their playbook, go read Das Kapital by Marx/Engels, the works of Lenin, and Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals", the playbook of the American Left since the 60's. (Hillary Clinton wrote him fan letters back in the day and considered going to work for him after college and law school.) They are in it for the long game, they know if they do it bit by bit they will be the winners years down the road. Their goal is to change society to the vision that led to millions of dead in the 20th Century. ALL totalitarian governments start out confiscating/prohibiting the means of resistance as their first step. The British trying to do this and the Colonists resistance was what triggered the American Revolution.

First comes all the changes "for the common good", including the confiscation of weapons. Would-be tyrants don't want folks resisting, imagine that. Eventually you wind up with the most ruthless seizing power, either directly or by means of false flag attacks to justify their actions. It happens EVERY TIME. "You are stupid, we know what is best for you. Munch your pizza and watch Dancing With The Stars, we'll take care of the rest. Go to work and pay your taxes, slave."

"C-68 has little to do with gun control or crime control, but it is the first step necessary to begin the social re-engineering of Canada."
-Liberal Senator Sharon Carstairs, Jan 11/1996 at the 11th Annual Community Legal Education Associations (CLEA) Conference, Winnipeg, Manitoba

These people will flat come out and tell you what they intend. "We don't like Canada as it is, it needs to be SOCIALLY RE-ENGINEERED". Someone saying that should cause a visceral fear reaction if you understand what it means. But you have to listen and you have to take them as seriously as they take themselves. If you just change the channel, they are one step further towards their dream, and your children and their children's nightmare.

Those who think it can never happen in Canada have not been paying attention, and don't know Canadian history very well.

If they try it down south there will be blood. Whether Canadians still have that kind of backbone remains to be seen. All that is necessary is to resist. " I lost that gun out in the woods" is a good start for most. The first time it costs them big, they will stop and back off, dying for their ideals is not part of their plan, they imagine YOU in that role.

If you are smart, you will already be scouting out safe, secure locations to bury a decent rifle or two and a basic load of ammo. Long guns aren't registered anymore, right? ;-) Investigate how to cache weapons correctly for the long term, a rusty gun is of little use.

Gun control is NOT about crime control. And it's not about guns. It's about control. If you understand that, then ask yourself why they don't want you to have them. When only the police have guns, we call that a police state. It CAN happen in Canada. It can happen anywhere that people aren't willing to resist tyranny, and unfortunately after decades of bit by bit movement in that direction, Canada is ripe for it.

    5. If Justin tries to take away our guns, I will oppose that. However, Harper has already implemented mandatory minimum sentences for the simple possession of a firearm. That is worse gun control than any Liberal has ever dreamed of.

As for Lenin, Harper was a far worse Communist then Pierre Elliot Trudeau ever was. Harper destroyed civil liberty, Pierre protected it by law. Harper sold our oil rights to Communist China. Harper opposed small business and a free market by promoting corporate monopolies. As I have said before it was the Rothschilds who funded the Communist revolution in Russia. The Corporate thugs took over the social movement and destroyed it completely.

    6. K, It's not one side or the other, it's ALL of them! These people, once in power, ALL seek to expand and abuse, just a matter of degree and method, and most folks are still fixed on that one side vs. the other. It's the nature of the beast.Harper did it in his way (agree on the mandatory minimums) and Trudeau will do it in his. Wait and see. Don't forget how enthusiastic you were at first about Trudeau, and how he disappointed you....he will do it again.

All people in power eventually manifest the desire to restrict public possession of arms. But they are rarely able to do it all in one bite, because even if folks can't admit it to themselves, deep down it makes a sector of the population that knows history very nervous, especially since there is no correlation between the government collecting all the guns and public safety, in fact the reverse is demonstrably true.

    7. Indeed. It has been said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. George Washington reversed that trend by signing the Constitution and establishing a free republic. Stephen Harper trampled that ideal. Time will tell what Justin Trudeau's legacy will be.

    8. I'm going to go one further than Trailrunner and posit that it is not when they get into power, but when they are allowed to run for that power.

What do I mean? Just simply you have to be pre-approved to even run as a candidate for one of these parties. They are not going to let anyone even try to run who is not part of the "club" and may not "tow the line" (not just a party's line, but the line, in general - let's face it, no matter who/which party is elected the country does not radically change over night - nor does it over a matter of years. This is true in Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, etc.

The policies of each party are really not that different from each other. Only what part of the policy (singular) that is emphasised is different.

The different parties (who truly are not any different) are like pressure release valves.

Besides, who ever votes FOR someone, Canadians end up voting against someone - you do not like party x in office, so you vote for party y or w, whichever one you feel has the best chance of making sure party x does not either stay in office or does not get into office.

  3. Hahahaha,i can't believe a 55 year old anything in canada can't see through Harpers deceit and betrayal, lmfao. Obviously not well educated or not reading the fine print! I am not too sure what Trudeau will bring to the table, but i am not going to reollect a terrorist into our office! Canadians rights were terminated right in front of them ,obviously enough of us,canadians, seen this and don't like it! Wait till your rights are violated for whatever reason. I am sure we have all had property crimes against us,dumbass,{justice for all},but like K said, take down the crack dealers who are the killers, quit wasting money on pot smokers, maybe your property crime will go down!, Something has to change and if we don't give it a chance, you are just admitting defeat!

  4. Nice to see you writing. There are always other things to write about, which may be of interest to your readers, like this post.

It felt good to see Harper and his Cons defeated at the polls. Its how a democracy works. Finally Harper could not "bribe" the voters of this country and many had had enough of his dictatorial ways.

    He treated the Veterans shamefully.
He increased jail sentences at a time crime is declining but failed to provide additional resources for communities such as Surrey or investigate the murder of the First Nations Women.
His party had 17 criminal convictions and more coming to trial.
He violated our Constitution and replaced approx. 2/3 of the judges in Canada with his appointments.
Harper's decision to try and deprive Canadians of their citizenship was disgusting and violated our Constitution and the U.N. charter.

Trudeau is off to a good start. He used the media room, which hadn't been used in 7 yrs by the P.M. Then he invited all the other party leaders to attend the climate change summit in Paris.

It was never about the economy or the security of the country for me. it was about our democracy, the scientists, the Veterans, our right to vote. If all Trudeau does re instate the things Steve cancelled, then I'm good to go with this government and that includes having the Long Form Census re instated.

Anyhow good to have you back.

    1. Thanks but I'm not back. I just wanted to end on a positive note. I made a promise to my kids and I intend on keeping it. The media room is a good point. I wonder if Justin will allow the media to ask more then a few pre scripted questions. There was so much about the Harper government that resembled the evil emperor in Star Wars it made my head spin.

It will take us years to find out how much money Harper really spent since he lied and denied he even did the $65 billion plus bank bail out. I am leery of future debt but let's face it, Justin is indeed off to a good start. I will give him the slack he needs to move. Time will tell if he hangs himself or restores Canadian dignity but I am hopeful it will be the latter. Justin will create his own legacy as will each one of us. Peace.
