We snowshoed up Sky Chair on Cypress last night right before sunset. It was sunny all day but just as we reached the summit a cold wind blew a cloud cover that stretched from the setting sun over the entire sky. This was the view of the sunset hidden by clouds. At least we could see the Lions face to face.
Several back country skiers and snowboarders all met up for a tailgate party after dark at the top to celebrate the end of the ski season. A lot of people went camping this weekend but it's supposed to be cloudy with showers for the rest of it.
The snow was nice. Soft and sticky from the sun all day. Snowshoes worked better than clampons. They have a webcam on top of Sky chair now so you can watch the sunrise and sunset on your computer weather permitting.
I just don't see you ever moving to Alberta, you're a B.C. boy.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think so either. Now I see the Fraser Valley as an eagle's nest. Soon it will be time for me to finally leave the nest and fly. I'm ready for the wide open spaces away from the crowds,
