Brockton Point on Mount Seymour

Today was a beautiful sunny day so we strapped on the snowshoes and hiked up Brockton Point on mount Seymour. It was the first time my son in law has been snowshoeing and the second time he's seen snow. We took him up Cypress in the fall for him to see an early snowfall right before ski season started.

I guess today was closing day for skiing and snowboarding for the season on Seymour. Same with Cypress. I thought they all had another week. Looks like they're shutting down before Easter. I guess Grouse is staying open until April 21st 2025.

Spring skiing is in my opinion the best of the season. It's warm and the melting snow isn't icy. It's a bit sticky as in not as fast but skiing in the sunshine is awesome. There are still more snowboarders than skiers out there and although the line ups for the chairlift were pretty long by late afternoon, everyone was having a tailgate party in the parking lot.

After next week we won't have to park so far away since the ski hill will be closed. I had crampons again today but broke one as soon as we started so I made the trek with just one crampon. I'll have to get that fixed or replaced for next time. The snow is melting fast so we better get on it.
