Surrey Civic election Saturday October 17 2026

Alberta referendum is October 19th. US Midterms is November 3rd 2026

Civic elections in BC will be on October 17th 2026. That means, Surrey, Vancouver and everywhere else for mayors and city councils. Several years ago Surrey had a political party called Surrey First run by Dianne Watts. We had high hopes and were deeply disappointed.

Surrey First turned out to be Surrey's worst when it came to fiscal responsibility. Dianne Watts became a Neo Con tax and spend junket queen. They loved spending money and raising taxes. Dianne Watts wanted to toll every bridge under the sun. In contrast, the Tax and Spend NDP eliminated bridge tolls in BC. Dianne Watts promised to be tough on crime and we were deeply disappointed. Her actions completely contradicted her words.

As a result, every single candidate in that slate were wiped off the map except for one newcomer not tied to the existing party's bad reputation. That was Linda Annis. Now Linda Annis is running for mayor under the Surrey Worst banner. She's trying to bring LRT back. LRT down 104 would have been a literal infrastructure nightmare. Grass roots activists started SkyTrain for Surrey to oppose the insanity. Now they're talking about brining SkyTrain to UBC. That's because SkyTrain doesn't impede traffic.

Doug McCallum brought SkyTrain to Langley and launched Surrey's own municipal police force. I completely supported him. Brenda Locke won the last election under very suspicious circumstances. A lot of high profile people were running for Mayor in Surrey and she wasn't one of them. She wasn't even in the top five. Yet she somehow won that election knowing that she was the only candidate that wanted to revert back to the RCMP which the Wake Up Surrey coalition passionately opposed.

Surrey was the largest city in Canada without it's own police force and all the dirty tricks the RCMP used to stay in Surrey was obscene. So here we are. Doug McCallum's back and I completely support him and his Safe Surrey coalition. Surrey Frist is a private company run by Dianne Watts more affectionately known locally as Godzilla. Why we left Surrey First.

  1. The quality of our municipal politicians is directly tied to our actions as voters. If we fail to do our due diligence and cast informed votes, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

  3. Honestly, I’m not interested in voting for Safe Surrey Coalition or Surrey Connect or Surrey First. No thank you. I’m tired of these old school politicians with their outdated backward ways of thinking. I would rather vote for a much younger that actually offers a more open minded modern day approach to governing our city.

    1. To each their own. For me McCallum's policies are rock solid. and Dough Elford is up and coming to take over for him when he finally retires. He's being coached by a grandmaster. We saw all the endless dirty tricks the Surrey RCMP pulled. We need someone tough to stand up to that.

    2. Rest assured, the RCMP will never police this town again. Ever.

    3. IHIT and the CFSEU do and they're a bigger problem than the Surrey RCMP.

    4. Doug McCallum has iron fists when it comes to zero tolerance for extortion. I noticed that extortion cases seem to have died down now. Send these low educated thugs back to where they came from.

    5. Criminals who come into this country just to commit serious crimes should be deported immediately. This isn’t racism. It’s common sense.

    6. If someone comes here and commits a crime then yes they should be deported. However, all the drug crime in Edmonton is run by the Hells Angels. Deporting the puppets will not stop the rich white man pulling their strings. That's reality.

    7. It’s one thing for the CBSA to deport the “foot soldiers“, but it’s certainly not going to stop BK from orchestrating these organized crimes. And that letter received by the Abbotsford Police Department? Yeah right, it’s false. It looks like it was written by a child.

    8. Yes that letter the mainstream media just published was indeed fake as f*ck.

    9. The language, spelling and punctuation are so poor Surely, Surrey residents are not stupid. Or are they?

    10. We’ll see soon enough. The ballot box has a way of settling these questions.

    11. As I've said, sadly, Surrey's civic election ballots are counted electronically by Dominion voting.

  4. The fact that Brenda Locke actually had the nerve to welcome Narendra Modi into Surrey for an event recently tells you everything you need to know about her character. This woman needs to go. Immediately. Four more weeks left and she’ll be out. Capital O capital U capital T.

  6. As of today, we have 30 days left until the election. Goodbye Brenda. Good luck and good riddance. Garbage in, garbage out.

  7. According to the local news, the official word is that Norm Lipinski has filed a petition in the BC Supreme Court today challenging his firing.

    1. That would be good news. So he should. Keep Norm, fire Brenda.

    3. My point exactly. Keep the SPS in Surrey and kick the RCMP out of Surrey. Send that grumpy old sea witch Brenda Lochness Monster back to the sea.

  8. There is a guy named Mike Starchuk who’s also running for Mayor. His party is called Imagine Surrey. Personally, I would not vote for him because he is a former NDP MLA, and I’m concerned about his support for building “supportive housing” units in Surrey. These developments will create drug and public-safety issues. Case in point: look at what’s happened along Granville Street in downtown Vancouver. We do not need any SROs in Surrey, nor do we need any socialists running the city.

    1. You can tell a person is a socialist when they demand a free lunch. There is no free lunch.

    2. Those "supportive housing" units are not affordable housing. They are homes for addicts who continue using drugs. They bring in a huge amount of crime and violence everywhere they are. We've talked about the one in Guildford beside Superstore behind the last RCMP community police station in Surrey. It brings crime and violence every day. The ones on Granville have created huge problems for the businesses there.
