Boycotting FIFA over Israel's participation

Canada is hosting some of FIFA's World Cup Soccer and sadly enough its time to boycott the whole thing. We know a lot of people from Colombia and Central America who love soccer and the world cup but they also support Palestine. 

The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver was a wonderful thing. The world was so united. Now we are literally witnessing atrocities rationalized with lies and extremism. There's no one love or global unity. Only punitive extremism.

There was talk about some Iranians and Palestinians being denied passports to attend FIFA in Canada. That's not fair. Although Palestinians in Gaza are more worried about food and shelter than attending an expensive sporting event, banning them is unjust. As is allowing Israels participation while they commit genocide on two separate fronts. 

Donald Trump has lost his mind and his original support base has split and splintered. Yet while America turns the world upside down with an unprovoked war in Iran to serve as a diversion for Netanyahu's invasion of Lebanon, having them co host FIFA is ironic at best. Trump is not promoting world peace.

So yes, I agree with boycotting FIFA this year. I will not be covering it. Not like I was able to afford a ticket to attend. It's just that it was such a positive wave your flag kind of event I thought it was worth supporting. Yet the whole thing has become divisive and oppressive so it's time to pull the plug.

Spain recently announce it will not broadcast Eurovision this year due to Israel’s participation. I think that's a positive step. We can't solve all the world's problems but we can record our dissent when we witness such extreeme injustices.

It's like Germany hosting the Olympics or World Cup during Hitler's Holocaust. It would be insanely hypocritical to support it.

The Lebanon invasion is based on false prophecies from right wing extremists. Just what are right wing extremists anyways? They're Fascists. In Trump's first term ANTIFA called anyone who disagreed with them Fascists. Even when they weren't.

Yet now that Trump 2.0 and Netanyahu's atrocities have become unhinged, they have completely embraced Fascism and the fake news isn't saying a word about that. 

Japan embraced Fascism during the war. That's what the rising sun flag with the red rays represented. The red rays represent expansionism which represents Fascism just like Netanyahu's current quest. The new term Zionism means expansionism which is Fascism. That's not what Zionism originally meant. 

The fake news is running with the viral video of the Israeli soldier defacing a statue of Christ in Lebanon. The IDF is in damage control and claims the soldiers involved have been disciplined. So they claim. Yet they keep doing it. 

What about the Christian civilians in Lebanon and Gaza who have been brutally murdered and their homes destroyed? That's OK but defacing a statue isn't? I think Christ is far more concerned with the people being murdered than a statue being defaced. Yet it's all about optics. 

What about the soldiers caught on video sexually assaulting Palestinian Prisoners? Does it matter if they were Christians or not? The court let them go. Extremists stormed the courthouse demanding the soldiers be released. That is an abomination. We are literally witnessing atrocities. Sexually assaulting prisoners is far worse than defacing a statue. 

What about the surgeon in Gaza who was tortured, sexually assaulted and murdered by the IDF. His only crime was providing medical aid to people who were in need of it. 

It's like the new era of double taps. Bombing the same place twice to murder rescue workers. This is far worse than defacing a statue yet it goes on and on and on with no end in site and no united voice denouncing it. This is why I think boycotting Israel's participation in FIFA is the least we can do. 

We can't do everything but we can do something and we owe it to ourselves as humans beings to do that. Boycott Israel. 

The other day I was at the grocery store picking up Mandrin oranges. I looked where they came from. Some were the US. Some were China. Some were Portugal. Some were from Israel. I saw the Israeli ones and said nope. I'm not buying those. 

It's sad because I worked on a kibbutz in Israel when I was young and one of the jobs was spraying the orange trees with pesticide. Under normal circumstances I would embrace Israel with open arms. These aren't normal circumstances. Right now Israel is lead by a Fascist just like Japan was during the war. 

Yitzhak Rabin was a good man. Netanyahu is not.
