The Guardian is reporting that "Daniel Kinahan, alleged to be the leader of the Kinahan organised crime group, has been arrested in the United Arab Emirates."
The Daily Star is reporting that "Daniel Kinahan 'to plead guilty' as cartel has £168m of assets seized in Dubai."
Dublin Live is reporting that "The evidence is so strong against Daniel Kinahan that he will plead guilty in an Irish court when he is extradited from Dubai, investigators believe."
Oh really? I hate to be so naive but he doesn't look shady. He's a legitimate boxing promoter. Now Tyson Fury and his brother are banned from entering the US. That's pretty extreme.
People had mentioned his arrest and the seizure of his property in Dubai and I said I was going to have to look into it because I was out of the loop and have never heard of this world famous Kinahan organised crime group.
Google AI claims that "The Kinahan Organized Crime Group, led by Christy Kinahan and his sons Daniel and Christopher Jr., is a Dublin-founded international cartel dominating cocaine trafficking, money laundering, and arms smuggling. Considered one of the world's most wanted organizations, they are accused of controlling over 30% of the European cocaine market, with the U.S. offering a $5 million reward for their arrests."
"Kinahan, who is in his 40s, moved to Dubai after he was the target of an infamous 2016 assassination attempt at Dublin’s Regency Hotel." There something fishy about this story.
Another super villain in the making. I'm told that the Irish Mafia is big in Medellin, Colombia. In 2025, two British men, Liam O'Brien, from Liverpool, and Robert Taylor, from Newcastle were arrested in Colombia.
"The cases against both men arise from Operation Venetic, the UK response to the hacking in 2020 of the Encrochat encrypted phone network that was used heavily by organised crime groups across the world." Encrochat wasn't hacked. It was yet another FBI honey pot that the FBI created and ran.
"Taylor, 54, had been sentenced in his absence in February 2024 to seven-and-a-half years in prison while 41-year-old O'Brien had been charged with multiple offences." Sentenced in his absence? That's a bit extreme.
The UK Sun reported that the two British gangsters worked for the Irish Mafia. "Cops didn’t confirm if the Irish mafia gang they were referring to was the Kinahan Organised Crime Group, whose leader Daniel Kinahan is holed up in Dubai."
Are you sure they were working for the Irish Mafia not MI5?
