Doug McCallum takes back Surrey. Nice. Safe Surrey swept Council except for two seats. This is a very positive change or should I say a very positive restoration to the very abnormal and suspicious last election. I find it hard to believe Brenda Locke actually got second. The Surrey Conservatives had a good platform but no one knew who any of them were.
Pete Fry beat Ken Sims for Vancouver mayor. I didn't know who Pete Fry was but I do know Ken Sims was facing backlash. All I know is what we are doing in the DTES is wrong and Ken Sims was trying to do something about it. Pete Fry is from the Green party which makes sense since a lot of Vancouver is green.
Green got four seats on Vancouver city council and Cope got four out of ten seats total. Cope does not support fixing the DTES atrocities we are committing so it doesn't look like anything positive will be happening there.
Sadly, Pete Fry is a mental retard when it comes to drug addiction and crime. Looks like Vancouver will end up fulfilling it's destiny by being destroyed in a major earthquake. Sadly, Jim McMurtry didn't make Delta School Trustee.

And the winner is…Doug McCallum!!! Finally! So glad Surrey voters finally smartened up. It’s good to have him back.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a big sigh of relief. Maybe Norm Lipinski will get his job back.
DeleteWith Doug McCallum and the Safe Surrey Coalition back in charge at City Hall, I have no doubt the Surrey police transition will move forward without further roadblocks or unnecessary delays. That’s why I’m glad Brenda is gone. Good riddance. It’s time to get the job done.
ReplyDeleteYes. Getting rid of the Surrey RCMP once and for all will be another sigh of relief.
DeleteThe last remaining RCMP relics at the Guildford/Fleetwood District 2 office, no longer have Brenda to back them up. Good riddance.
DeleteIndeed. They're going to have to finally hand over the keys to the stingray antenna outside my house.
DeleteHarry Bains from Surrey Connect is the only lone counsellor on Doug McCallum‘s team. He’s going to have to learn to work respectfully with Doug and the rest of the Safe Surrey Coalition council members.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's the updated result. When I looked Mike Bose was in. Now he's not.
DeletePete fry is the son of hedy fry.
ReplyDeleteMaybe so but his position on drug addiction and crime is mentally retarted.
DeletePete Fry is a leftist just like Gregor Robertson and Kennedy Stewart.
DeleteHedy Fry the pioneer of race based politics in BC.

Ken Sim had 4 years and the DTES is worse than when he started. His ideology appeals to the simple minded the same way Giuliani did: when your only tool is a hammer every issue resembles a nail. Sadly, unlike Giuliani he was bad at task delegation.
ReplyDeleteYou don't know dick about east van, stick to surrey.
That is a delusional lie and I know a lot more about the DTES than you do. I patrolled there as a Guardian Angel late at night in the /80's and served many the homeless for years there including with the Harbour Light food line.
DeleteI rode through the DTES a couple of times about a month ago as was amazed that there were noticeably far less addicts on the streets. It was still a sh*t hole but the sheer volume of addicts has been greatly reduced so to say it is worse than before Ken Sims started is a bold faced lie.
My daughter's ex occasionally works at job sites in the DTES and commented on how there are fewer addicts on the street now. He was all worried they were doing something shady with them like all the Colombians that go to Mexico for work and end up dead on some rural farm. Perhaps they've been offering them MAIDS. I don't know. I just know there is a lot less now than there was 4 years ago.
Don't get me started on Giuliani and the New York model. I was there. He transformed New York though enforcement, one of the crucial four pillars. He made New York safe and prosperous. Then Bill De Blasio flushed it down the toilet.
If people voted for Pete Fry and Then all of a sudden complain about these drug induced SROs, then they have no one to blame but themselves. Vancouver voters are idiots.
ReplyDeleteVancouverites wanted a woke circus, now they got it. They made their bed. They’ll sleep in it. Nimrods.
DeleteUntil the walls come crashing down in the big one.
DeleteGlad Doug McCollum‘s back. Did you notice how Beau Simpson didn’t even win the council seat? He used to be the editor of the Surrey now leader. That paper is absolute shite.
ReplyDeleteBut it wasn't when he was with it. Harry Bains had a name.
DeleteSo long, Brenda Loch Ness Monster! Back to the sea, you go. They say it’s good to live by the three Cs: Cool, calm, collected. In this case, good to live by the three Gs: Goodbye, good luck, good riddance. Let’s not forget…Game Over. And my personal favourite G word? Garbage in, garbage out.
ReplyDeleteNow that Brenda’s packing up her things, she’s not worth a passing thought. Let’s not talk about her anymore. There are a lot of ridiculous comments on Facebook, bashing Doug McCallum left and right all coming from poorly educated racist white trash malcontents. The local lame stream media vilified him for many years and it’s amusing how they’re losing sleep over the election results. Serves them right.
ReplyDeleteOne troll on here and a coworker both said McCallum's supporters were all brown. If they were all white they'd still complain and call him a white supremacist. Wake up Surrey supported getting rid of the RCMP. They supported Doug McCallum. It's that simple.
DeleteSadly, there are trolls out there in general using Doug McCallum‘s victory as an excuse to attack the South Asian community. Not acceptable at all. Social media can be a good thing if only people would stop misusing it. It’s a shame how it brings out the worst in people. Wake up Surrey did the best thing taking a stand and rest assured, the Surrey RCMP no longer have the previous mayor to back them up. Before you know it, the Surrey RCMP will be a distant memory. The trolls, whoever they are can go right back under the bridge from where they crawled out of. Some people are just sore losers.
DeleteSore losers. Exactly. Trolls talk shit because that's what they do. Doug McCallum won. The Alberta separatism vote failed.
DeleteDoug’s 82 years old, but he’s still sharp as a toothpick. Nothing stops him.
ReplyDeleteI remember the election before last. I was sitting in the back at a debate. The guy sitting beside me was with another party. He leans over and whispers to me, how's Doug doing with his age? I said I'm just trying to sus that out. Then Doug spoke and I turned to the guy and said, yup, we're good. He nailed every point. He had a very clear platform that I supported. The most important was Sky Train over LRT.
DeleteDid you hear about Linda Annis' dog bite story?
Yeah, I heard about that dog bite story. Maybe that’s what might’ve cost her a vote or something. I didn’t like her idea of revisiting the LRT. I respect Doug because it’s thanks to him that we have the Sky Train line extended to Langley and we’re finally getting rid of the RCMP.
ReplyDeleteRevesting the LRT would have been insane. A coworker just told me about her lying about the dog bite story. I totally missed it:

Doug McCallum has done a lot of wonderful things for Surrey more than people want to realize, and I defy anyone to tell me differently.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Save the Surrey RCMP lunatics would love to sh*t talk McCallum but I don't want to get into a pissing match over it here. They're gone and that's good. Full steam ahead.
DeleteWell said, Dennis. Case closed.
