CBC is reporting that "The RCMP say one of its officers was likely injured by police gunfire near the community of Midway, a small town in B.C.'s Kootenay region just north of the Canada-U.S. border. An RCMP spokesperson said Kelowna RCMP identified a suspicious Ford F-350 pickup truck around 10:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday and began following it."
"Police say the truck, which was monitored with air surveillance, eventually began driving up a forest service road near Midway around 1:30 p.m., when plainclothes officers from Penticton and Kelowna and dog handlers attempted to pull it over."
"Police arrested two people, and during the arrest, a dog bit a man, according to an RCMP statement.
A police officer was also shot and wounded, the statement said, noting it appears the wounded officer was shot as a result of police gunfire. The officer was taken to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released."
Be aware of what's behind your target.
If you can't see what's behind your target it's not safe.
Can you imagine what it's like to have to work with folks you can't trust to keep their finger off the trigger? Wonder if the shooter will be reprimanded for being a moron. Clown shoes for everyone.
ReplyDeleteAlways thought that stood for all cops are bastards
ReplyDeleteWell that's not very appropriate. I'm hoping it wasn't intentional. Basic safety rules are important.
DeleteAcab as all cops are bastards has been a thing since George Floyd or longer. It's a social justice warrior / lefty term.
DeleteACAB has been around for a lot longer than George Floyd. It was in use before the guy was even born and before SJWs were even a thing. Wikipedia says it first came into use in the 1920s. Check it out.
DeleteYeah that acronym is somewhat ridiculous. It's like AC/DC saying if you're evil you're a friend of mine. Betraying your brother is evil. Raping children is evil. You can't be a friend of mine if you do that. All cops aren't bad. Most risk their lives to save others. I support law and order. I also support Police on Guard because the Charter of Rights is the law they all swore an oath to defend.
DeleteThey need to hire Dennis as a Firearms Instructor.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing I could tell them that they don't already know. My range buddy teaches cops gun safety at the Justice Institute. They probably just got carried away with adrenaline in the moment.
DeleteIt's like that shooting in Whiterock with the full auto. The shooters all spread out at first which was wise. After the main shooter unloaded in the car he started to chase the car. That's when his buddy decided to take a shot at the car. The only problem with that is the situation changed and the main shooter was between him and the car. Adrenaline often causes people to stop using their brain.

Lol , I think most would have shot but if it ventured more to the right maybe not so.
ReplyDeleteLOL you're obviously referring to the picture. That was my exact thought. It would be tempting indeed. As you say if it ventured more to the right it would be even less safe because there could be hunters in those trees aiming at it from the other side.
DeleteHowever, we're taught that if the target is on top of a hill and you can't see what's on the other side of the hill, it's not a safe shot. Bullets that miss the target travel over the hill into a completely blind area. There could be people standing there.
