God Bless Edward Snowden
I just saw the movie Snowden in the theater. It is well worth seeing. It is something we should support. I was somewhat disappointed in the low public turn out in the movie about the Gary Webb story Kill the Messenger. That was a landmark film based on a true story and the public barely noticed. Edward Snowden is a whistleblower. He reported illegal activity and they want to put him in jail for doing so. That shows you how far we have departed from the principles of the US Constitution and the Canadian Charter of Rights.
I have heard people rationalize warantless surveillance with the claim I have nothing to hide. That's not the point. The point is civil liberty. The movie clarifies that the CIA and the NSA aren't just tracking terrorists. That's just the excuse. They are tracking people for economic control and social control. Like the rest of us, Edward Snowden was hoping things would improve under the Obama Administration. They did not. Obama conned us. His education was paid for by the CIA.
Hilary Clinton was the author of Operation Fast and Furious. Her and Bill have been deeply involved in CIA drug trafficking since Mena, Arkansas. Sadly, I don't believe anything will change. At the time, they said George Washington and Benjamin Franklin were traitors. Now history knows better. Edward Snowden is a modern day Paul Revere. God bless him and God bless Lindsey Mills. Their sacrifice will be remembered. Lest we forget.

Powerful Opioid Carfentanil Confirmed In Winnipeg
Each new drug keeps getting worse. CJOB is reporting that the incredibly toxic drug carfentanil has indeed hit the streets of Winnipeg. Carfentanil is 100 times more potent than fentanyl and was originally designed as a tranquilizer for large animals such as moose or elephants.
This is why helping the Hells Angels obtain a monopoly on the drug trade is a bad idea. Greed. Enough is never enough. They are always coming up with new ways to kill people and make money off of ruthless addiction. Legalizing these drugs would be socially irresponsible. Peddling these drugs is low life scum. Carfentanil looks like acid.
Documentary on New York Cop Corruption in the /80's
I just watched an astound Netflix documentary on police corruption in New york City back in the /80's called the Seven Five. I had no idea it was that bad when I was there. I just saw the resulting crack on the street that they were all profiting from.
The documentary is about the Michael Dowd story and the plague of police corruption that infiltrated and consumed the 75th precinct in Brooklyn from 1987 to 1992. This documentary explains how it was Mayor David Dinkins that was the real author of the New York model that cleaned up corruption and got crack off the streets not Mayor Giuliani.
The documentary is astounding and you need to see it yourself to believe it. It starts off with clips from Dowd testifying before the Mollen Commission after he was caught and interviews him after he served 12 years in prison for racketeering and drug dealing. It also interviews cops and drug dealers he worked with. The candid nature of the documentary is astounding.
In 1987 the 75th precinct in Brooklyn was almost completely corrupt. Dowd and his crew were on the take tipping off his drug dealers when they were going to be raided and provided police escorts when they moved their cash so they wouldn't get robbed by rival drug dealers. His dealers set up a supermarket in Brooklyn. People would buy groceries, then go to a door in the back and buy kilos of cocaine hidden within their groceries. What I saw was the insane amount of violence on the street in Harlem and on East 42nd Street Times Square when that cocaine was turned into crack and sold on the street. I saw the enforcement on the front line that was a huge part of the famous New York model eveyone talks about.
Evidently there was another key element behind the New York Model that I was not aware of. After Dowd's arrest Mayor David Dinkins launched the Mollen Commission to investigate police corruption in New York City. In 1994 the Commission concluded that: "Today's corruption is not the corruption of Knapp Commission days. Corruption then was largely a corruption of accommodation, of criminals and police officers giving and taking bribes, buying and selling protection. Corruption was, in its essence, consensual. Today's corruption is characterized by brutality, theft, abuse of authority and active police criminality."
"The panel recommended the establishment of an independent monitor for the department that would have subpoena powers and help establish new departmental policies to deter corruption." That is what cleaned up New York. In 1995 the Commission to Combat Police Corruption (CCPC) was created. It was an independent monitor.
Fast forward to Surrey 2016. Surrey is to Vancouver what Brooklyn was to New York. Although I predominately stayed in Harlem and on the Deuce when I was in New York, I did visit Brooklyn a few times. Curtis Sliwa's parents lived there. Wonderful couple. Brooklyn was tense. The kids on the subways used to sing a song. "Brooklyn robbed my house. Then they took me couch. Brooklyn, Brooklyn." Surrey has a series of it's own jokes regarding crime and criminals. Yet over all Surrey is indeed improving. The one thing that is holding us back is the policing problem that refuses to arrest the drug dealers that sell crack or fentanyl in public.
I don't think we have the same kind of problem with police corruption in Surrey like they did in the 75th Precinct in Brooklyn but we do have a serious problem that needs to be addressed. It begins and ends with Bill Ford and Craig Callen. They aren't on the take. They're just incompetent idiots that are so consumed with sexual harassment that they refuse to do their job. That fact shows us the real corruption within the RCMP comes from the top down. When the RCMP management promote bumbling idiots knowing full well they won't do their job, the rest of us are forced to ask ourselves why don't they want them to do their job? Are they on the take? It sure looks like it.
Richard Barszczewski scuttled David Giles' arrest in the Western Wind bust from the top down. The officers on the case were very frustrated when he pulled the plug. That was a criminal act. Instead of getting fired and going to jail upper management gave him a promotion. Take a look at how the RCMP scuttled Operation Phoenix preventing Weird Hal from getting busted. That was another criminal act swiftly swept under the carpet. Are we beginning to see a pattern yet?
If we really want to reduce drug related crime and violence we need an independent body that monitors police corruption right at the top. Until we do that we are simply shooting ourselves in the foot with all this harm promotion. Gary Shinkaruk should be in charge of E Division not Bill Fordy. Getting rid of the OMGU right after their colossal success in Kelowna was very suspect. Our corruption works from the top down. That needs to be addressed just like it was in New York.

Surrey RCMP bust pot shop but roll out the red carper for crack and fentanyl dealers
This is the epitome of everything that's wrong with Surrey. The Vancouver Sun is reporting that the Surrey RCMP raided a pot shop in Guildford arresting two employees and one customer. Technically pot is not legal yet so they are well within the parameters of the law. However, we all know Justin Trudeau was elected on a promise to legalize marijuana. I didn't vote for him and I don't support the legalization of marijuana. I support decriminalization not legalization. Nevertheless, I recognize the democratic process.
Recently the police made a similar raid on a pot shop in the Lower Mainland and the judge said what are we doing here? The judge was well aware the law hadn't changed yet but realized the last election showed the democratic will of the people to change that law. The law is in the process of being amended so what is the purpose of flogging the old law before it in amended? The courts understand the intent of the law.
The next concern is unequal protection or enforcement of the law. Why are they obsessing over pot but turn a complete blind eye to the public sale of crack, crystal meth and now fentanyl? Those drugs are far worse than pot and the police refuse to do anything about it. Who's side are they really on? Arresting people for pot while they refuse to arrest drug dealers that sell fentanyl to customers unknowingly is absolutely insane.
That is what has created the ballooning crime problem in Surrey. Dianne Watts obsessed over grow ops but refused to respond to business and community members concerns over the public sale of crack in Whalley and Newton. When the public calls the police and the police refuse to respond, that creates criminal culpability.
How can they obsess over pot and traffic violations when they completely ignore crack and fentanyl? That is unequal protection of the law. Perhaps it's time to fire them and hire someone else willing to do the job and represent the people that pay their wages and elect the governments that create the laws they are paid to enforce. Promoting Bill Fordy was a public disgrace.
West Vancouver Cop seizes 2,000 cars
The Vancouver sun is reporting that Cpl. Grant Gottgetreu from the West Vancouver police department is bragging about seizing 2,000 cars for speeding. This guy is a piece of garbage and is the reason this stupid law should be repealed. This is why people hate cops.
We all thought it was funny when a member of the Hells Angels was caught on camera driving like an asshole speeding excessively weaving in and out of traffic in a very unsafe manner. Yet the bottom line is that seizing people's vehicles for speeding on a open stretch of the freeway is over the top. It gives the police and the government far too much power which in this case has clearly gone to their head. This guy is no hero. He is a villain. The police are letting drug dealers sell crack and fentanyl in public in the DTES and on the Surrey strip but they are seizing cars from hard working Canadians that speed on a freeway. That is unequal protection of the law. Who do these guys work for? Themselves or the taxpayers that pay their wages and elect the government that makes the laws to protect them not enslave them. Get a life. Get a real job.
Seizing someone's car after three drinks is also excessive. Cops are the worst DUI offenders. They have a tax paid bar on site to get drunk after work and drive home impaired all the time.

David Giles found guilty - Update
Kim Bolan is reporting that David Giles has been found guilty of conspiracy to import 200 kilos of cocaine into Canada. Skeletor has fallen. Oh happy day. Well done to the team that put him down.
Update: CBC is reporting that "At another point, one of the accused claimed his father had a friend who was high up in the Osoyoos border and could provide information for northbound assistance crossing into Canada." They have posted a copy of the judges ruling on the case.

Hells Angel puppet club in Newfoundland busted for drugs and murder
Big news on the east coast. CBC is reporting that "An arrest and charge has been made in connection with the killing of Dale Porter, more than two years after the man's death. Al Potter, 53, was arrested yesterday in London, Ont., and was charged with second-degree murder. Porter, 39, was stabbed on his North River property in June of 2014. RCMP said he later succumbed in hospital to multiple stab wounds." Court documents filed after Dale Porter's death in June 2014 show the RCMP believe Al Potter and Daniel Leonard - both biker club associates - were suspected of murdering the North River man. CBC is also reporting that 10 men have been arrested following multiple raids in Newfoundland surrounding the Vikings MC and their clubhouse. The raids took place the day after Al Potter was charged in the murder of Dale Porter.
Evidently in Newfoundland they're allowed to take pictures inside the court.
All but two of the men arrested are members of the Vikings Motorcycle Club. A local doctor and the son of one of the club members are considered associates of the Vikings Motorcycle Club, which police said Thursday is affiliated with the Hells Angels. During the raids Police seized over 2 kilograms of cocaine and 27 grams of powder sold as Heroin that actually contained Fentanyll. Back in in February 2016 a member of the Vikings MC in Newfoundland was charged with charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
This is big news because it is a direct connection between the Hells Angels and the Newfoundland drug trade including Fentanyl. Before this we only had indirect connections to the Hells Angels. This is a direct connection and is the perfect example of how pride cometh before the fall. I've been bending over backwards trying to give these guys the benefit of the doubt saying they're not all criminals just a few of them who use the name of the club for criminal activity. Then they keep screwing up over and over again. If they are that determined to attain criminal organization status, who am I to try and stop them. Have at it you f*cking clowns.
Brave Enough
Hats off to Lindsey Stirling. She put on a great show in Vancouver. I was there. She's certainly no Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears trailer trash skank. She has a lot more class than that. Lindsey is a violin virtuoso. Her show was energetic, talented, tasteful and most of all inspiring.
Her new album Brave enough is referring to being brave enough to come back after she lost her best friend to cancer. The album starts off dark but step by step gets more posative as she processed the hurt and anger over the loss of her friend and became filled with gratitude for the time they spent together.
She talked about how she tried out for numerous talents shows including America's got talent and each time the door was closed in her face. They kept telling her she'd never make it. She'd never succeed. They said she sounded like rats being strangled. Yet she persevered. She is doing her own thing and it's good. She is proving them wrong and is a shining example of overcoming hateful critics. We all have trolls. They aren't worth the time. She has risen above them.
A shout out to the Federal Empire which is a new band that opened for her. The lead singer has long hair and plays an acoustic guitar. He's accompanied by a keyboardist and a guy on the electric guitar. I liked them. It's different and it's new. They are humble Americans with heart. The lead singer is like a young modern Ricky Nelson singing new beats. One of my pet peeves is all these Zoomers living in the past. I scan through the radio and all these local radio stations in Vancouver stuck playing old music from when we were kids. There's nothing wrong with playing an old classic once in a while but we've gotta move on and try something new. We've gotta grow. These guys fit the bill. Creating new positive music. Cheers.
I totally understand why Zoomers listen to old music though. It's because the new music sucks. Pop, disco, techno - it's all garbage. That's why there are so many local radio stations that play old music. However, it is worthwhile to embrace new music that is good.

Hells Angels associate accidently shoots himself in the groin
This is a picture of Omar Chaouk with members of the Hells Angels at the funeral of his father, Macchour Chaouk, back in 2010. Omar was released on bail to attend his father's funeral. When he was released authorities said his safety could be a risk. They never imagined it would have been from himself. The New Zealand Herald is reporting that:
"The son of a murdered Melbourne crime boss pulled down his pants and started crying when he thought he might die after he shot himself in the groin. A bullet grazed Omar Chaouk's testicle after he reached into his pocket for a cigarette, accidentally shooting himself with a gun he had there, Daily Mail reports. Son of the late Macchour Chaouk, the 25-year-old pleaded guilty on Tuesday to being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm over the accidental shooting in 2015." Sounds like one of those cases where if he had half a brain he'd be dangerous.
Control the muzzle. Finger off the trigger. Don't put one in the chamber until you're ready to fire. Idiot. The Age in Australia is reporting that Omar plead guilty to three counts of theft and a single charge of armed robbery. He stole a Harley-Davidson and two other vehicles after taking them for a test drive. Defence counsel Grace Morgan said Chaouk's drug use was "out of control" at the time, as he was smoking ice daily and also using GHB. Ms Morgan asked judge Damian Murphy for her client to be assessed to determine whether his low IQ and mental-health problems contributed to his offending, which could show his moral culpability was reduced.

Kelowna RCMP Under Investigation
Castanet is reporting that the Kelowna RCMP is under investigation. All we are being told is that it involves a series of allegations as opposed to a single allegation. Kelowna Superintendent Nick Romanchuk's sudden leave of absence has magically turned into a retirement.
