Jesse Marsch has given us some life lessons on how to stay positive. He never made excuses and took ownership of their performance at the World Cup. Never once did he say our best player was out with an injury even when the commentator gave him an opportunity to do so.
I really think it's important to stay positive in life. Dr Schuller used to say tough times don't last but tough people do. Canada and the entire world is facing some tough times. That's no reason to become bitter or blame others.
As I've said, the algorithms on social media are absolutely toxic. They show us things we like and things we hate. Even the algorithms are rage baiting us to provoke a reaction to increase polarization and further the divide.
I recently did a survey with my bank and they asked me if I felt confident in the future. My response was yes I do. They asked in the last six months do you feel more confident in the future or less and I said more. For me personally a whole lot more for more than one reason. I've overcome a debilitating health issue. I've also paid off my debts and am ready to move forward. So in that sense yes, I feel very confident about the future.
Obviously I have a social conscience and the atrocities in Iran and Lebanon really bother me as do the lies used to rationalize them but as Ziggy Marley said, we've got to fulfill the book. One of the reasons the Devil inspires bad men to get swept away with false prophecies is to discourage good men from believing in the true prophesies. Why is that? Because the true prophecies give us hope and as Solomon said, where their is no vison, the people will perish.
It has been said that one day the Constitution would hang by a thread. That day has come. It has also been said that the Constitution will be saved by righteous men and women who love and cherish freedom. I believe that. I believe in the principles of the US Constitution and the Canadian Charter of Rights.
That includes the freedom of religion for all religions not just one. I reject the idea of forming a State religion because that would violate the principles of the US Constitution and the Canadian Charter of Rights. I like the Canadian mosaic. That is the society that I choose to live in. I like it here.
I realize Canada is far from perfect but as I said before the two principles I identify with that make Canada Canada, is freedom and tolerance. Tolerance means respect. Respect for others and respect for self.
To be humble means to be teachable. Pride is a damming sin because it stops our progression like a dam holds back water. It prevents us from learning. To be humble means we don't think of ourselves all the time. It's not America first or Canadas first or Israel first. It's we the people first. It's our principles first. Our values. Netanyahu, Donald Trump and Itamar Ben-Gvir don't share those values. Jesus did. So did Ghandi, Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King.
