The Solemnities of Eternity

Today I got up early to get some groceries. The rain had finally stopped and the ground was wet. From a distance I hear an eagle cackle. I look up and see two seagulls were soaring over my head. That's not it I thought. I kept hearing it but I couldn't see it. Then I looked closely at the top of a familiar old cedar tree and there it was perched at the very top. I could see it's head turn and look straight at me as I bowed in respect.

I guess it migrates and stops there every year along it's journey. Then at Superstore I heard them play I'm not OK by Jelly Roll. That's the first time I've heard that song. That ain't me.

It has a peaceful tune and a good intent but I'm not sure I can relate. I am OK. I also have difficultly buying into Merk's obese facial tat victim drama the Babylonian horde follows. I find it very ascetically unpleasing and painful to watch. Let's do what we've got to do and move forward. Tomorrow will be a better day.

As Daniel said, "O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong." Joshua said the same thing. Two of you shall chase a thousand. Word.

  1. Eagles don't migrate like Geese and fly south for the winter but they do move around. Mid November we see them all at Kilby on the Harrison River for the Salmon. Then mid December we see them at Brackendale outside Squamish. A lot of them nest in the Gulf Islands but we also see nests here especially in Richmond as well as Tofino and Desolation Sound.
