There was an industrial fire in Guildford today. All the roads were blocked off on our way to Cypress for the sunset. On the way back the business looked gutted.
Tomorrow is Vaisakhi in Surrey. Big parade, lots of food and lots of fun. Religious service in the community. It's a big deal here. The Sikh motorcycle club are a big hit.
Everyone here knows about samosas and butter chicken but veggie pakora is also very nice. Tonight we discovered Mary Browns Chicken. It's from Newfoundland. It's awesome. Canadian owned and operated. There's also a lot of nice Korean chicken places in Surrey now as well.
MSN is reporting that "China poses the biggest geopolitical threat to Canada, Liberal Leader Mark Carney said on Friday, citing issues including foreign interference, Beijing's support for Russia's war in Ukraine and its interest in the Arctic."
Now do you see the problem? If World Economic Forum Mark Carnage claims China is our biggest threat, maybe that erroneous claim is a distraction from last years $62 billion debt and how China and Russia are seen as a threat to the UN's New World Order of Communism and fake environmentalism.
You didn't believe it when CSIS and the CIA's drug trafficking network said it but when Chrystia Freeland's bff Carney says it everyone should stand up and take notice. There is something else at play here. Mark Carney and the WEF are a bigger threat to Canada than China. We don't need the WEF to save us from China in the same way Poland didn't need Stalin to save them from Hitler. We need to step back and see the big picture.
Mark Carney was the guy that went to China as Justin Trudeau's economic advisor and secured a loan for Brooksfield. Now he says China is the enemy? Who's he trying to fool? This is the guy that has campaigned for a carbon tax based on fake environmentalism his entire career then as soon as the polls reveal Canadian's true feelings about the carbon tax he says see I'm such a great guy because I paused it when he was the one that pushed so hard to get it approved in the first place.
As my Russian neighbor said, first they give you cake. Then they starve you. After that, you take whatever they give you.
CTV is reporting that "A shooting that left multiple people injured in the southeast community of Albert Park/Radisson Heights on Tuesday night was related to organized crime, according to Calgary police. Police were called to the 2700 block of 12 Avenue S.E. around 6:55 p.m. for reports of shots fired. It is believed gunfire was exchanged between two vehicles in the area. The suspect fled before police arrived."
"Rosenberg and the 11 other members of the ring — all Israeli nationals — were believed to have stolen up to $25 million, according to Channel 10." 11 other Israelis stole $25 million from Seniors. So how does Pierre Poilievre feel about that?
Global is reporting that "A retired RCMP officer who is accused of foreign interference and being an agent for China was in Vancouver for a court appearance on Tuesday. Taking a break from a hearing on his bail conditions in Vancouver, Bill Majcher made his first statements to Global News about the charges against him. 'My response, initially, amazement. And I 100 per cent reject it. It’s totally false, without foundation.'”
I've seen the merits of the case. There's no way it's going to trial. They just delayed it until after the election.
The National Post is reporting that "A Chinese property tycoon linked to a massive banking scandal in China’s industrial north is at the centre of more than $500 million in B.C. property deals, a joint investigation by Postmedia and global due diligence firm IPSA International shows." Careful. They're going to charge you with foreign interference next.
The opposition with Dan Knight is reporting that "A serving RCMP sergeant and retired national security detective accuse Trudeau-era ministers—and now Mark Carney’s inner circle—of illegal surveillance and intelligence cover-ups."
OK so it was a 10 minute flight. Pretty cool. Like the weather balloons with a gopro attached to them. You get on the edge of the atmosphere and can clearly see the curvature of the earth. The bible does not say the earth is flat and it isn't. Let's move past the mental illness and get healthy. Onward and upward.
Update: Just because the capsule's door was opened from the inside before Jeff Bezos officially opened it for the camera doesn't mean the entire mission was fake. Every building has an emergency exit. I find it hard to believe that they would put all those women in a capsule with no door handle on the inside in the event of a fire. You need professional help.
The BBC is reporting that "An Israeli air strike has destroyed part of al Ahli Arab Hospital, the last fully functional hospital in Gaza City. Witnesses said the strike destroyed the intensive care and surgery departments of the hospital."
"Video posted online appeared to show huge flames and smoke rising after missiles hit a two-storey building. People, including some patients still in hospital beds, were filmed rushing away from the site."
France 24 is reporting that "Since the outbreak of war, tens of thousands of Gazans have sought refuge in hospitals across the territory, many of which have suffered severe damage in ongoing hostilities."
"The strike on Al-Ahli Hospital in northern Gaza —- also known as the Baptist or Ahli Arab Hospital —- caused no casualties, but came a day after Israeli forces seized a key corridor in the territory and signalled plans to expand their campaign."
"It also comes after the United Nations warned that medicines and related supplies are rapidly running out in Gaza as casualties surge. 'The bombing led to the destruction of the surgery building and the oxygen generation station for the intensive care units,' Gaza's civil defence rescue agency said."
"The strike came "minutes after the (Israeli) army's warning to evacuate this building of patients, the injured and their companions", the agency said. AFP photographs showed massive slabs of concrete and twisted metal scattered across the site after the strike."
"Patients, relatives, and medical personnel evacuated the Al-Ahli hospital in haste following the military's warning to evacuate. Many now remain stranded in the surrounding streets."
Paul Palango is an accomplished Canadian author who has written several books about crime. Many of which are critical of the RCMP like Dispersing the Fog. Turns out he's also a podcaster. Today he and criminal defense lawyer Adam Rodgers talked quite a bit about the Bill Majcher case over in Vancouver.
Turns out Majcher is pronounced Miker. I did not know that. They talked quite a bit about the case at 22:01in today's podcast and continues to 37:11. Paul had written about Majcher is his book Dispensing the Fog saluting his competence.
