Tony Terezakis' son makes a movie

Speaking of Tony Terezakis, his son is making a movie called Born into Gangs. Tony had his son film him beating the life out of drug addicts that owed him money in East Vancouver. His ex wife found the tapes and gave them to the police. Big Tony worked for the Hells Angels. As soon as he got out of prison they capped Juel Stanton who was working in Tony's area. Capping Big Tony won't change the fact that the Hells Angels endorsed his exploitation of the homeless for so many years. That's how they made their money. Blood money.

Somehow I doubt they'll include Tony's involvement with Piggy's Palace and the Pickton Farm in their movie or anything about the Dianne Rock Story. The part of the Dianne Rock story that wasn't found in court transcripts was the claim that she was gang raped on the Pickton farm by bikers and police. Which forces us to question how involved RCMP bondage freak Jim Brown was with the Pickton farm and just how well he knew Dave Pickton.

Nevertheless, the movie Born into Gangs should be a good look inside the brutality and exploitation of the homeless that the Hells Angles in Vancouver profit from. Not to mention Ricky Ciarniello and the Devil’s Butler. Much. That'll be in my eBook due to be released December 10th.

Mexican Cartel Murdered Blogger

The Daily Beast is reporting that the Mexican cartel has murdered another blogger. She used a picture of Catwoman as her avatar and called herself Felina. Felina was an administrator for Valor por Tamaulipas (which means Courage for Tamaulipas), the most popular citizen news hub in the state, with more than 100,000 followers on Twitter and over half a million on Facebook.

Early in the morning on Thursday, Oct. 16, this message from Felina @Miut3 was posted: # reynosafollow FRIENDS AND FAMILY, MY REAL NAME IS MARÍA DEL ROSARIO FUENTES RUBIO. I AM A PHYSICIAN. TODAY MY LIFE HAS COME TO AN END. The next message, sent moments later, is supposedly her warning friends and family not to make the same mistake she did, using social media to report on organized crime, because “there is no point.” After she was kidnapped and killed cartel members posted pictures of her lifeless body on her Twitter account.

All I can say is do you not fear God? I blog about the Vancouver gang war but I don't mess with the Mexican cartel. They are ruthless. I find the brutality of the murders very disturbing. Someone there needs to spend some real time with Dr. Phil. There's a lot of Catholics in Mexico. I's hard to conceive how anyone can be so blasphemous towards God with such inhuman acts of brutality.

These are the same people that the ATF were supplying guns and selling drugs for in Operation Fast and Furious. The resignation of Eric Holder does not remove Obama's culpability in that criminal act. Nor does it circumvent his legal obligation to disclose the documents he has been hiding under executive privilege. He has been hiding criminal acts. That makes him culpable to the crimes he has been hiding. In the book The Unarmed Truth, whistle blower John Dodson stated Washington was very interested in that operation from day one.

Although I am shocked by the ruthless brutality of the Mexican cartel, my beef is not with them. What am I going to say about the cartel? They sell drugs? Everybody knows they sell drugs. My beef is with the Hells Angels because they sell drugs and lie about it. They support people like Larry Mizen who brutalized the homeless for years then all of a sudden cap him as soon as he gets some bad press when they know full well what his did all along. That is messed up.

Despite my concerns about the Mexican cartel's brutality, somehow I don' think they would be involved with the Pickton farm like the Hells Angels were. Somehow I don't think gang rape and what was done to Dianne Rock sits well with them. Or the Italian mafia for that matter. Tony Terezakis was Greek. Tony wasn't the only one. He just worked the door. The rat's nest is full of them. If you wear Hells Angels support gear, that is what you support. The gang rape and exploitation of Dianne Rock and all the many others.

Selling drugs in clubs to people who want it is none of my business. Giving crack to the homeless for free them beating the life out of them for payment is my business. What they did to Janice Shore is my business. If they cap me for saying that so be it. In time they will face a much worse consequence simply because life does not end at death. No lie can live forever. Mark my word.

The thought for the day and the gym today was "Courage is the ability to accept defeat without losing heart." Life does not end at death. Like Obi Wan Kenobi, Felina has become more powerful than her murders could ever imagine. The question I have is why are there so many missing people in her city? Killing Felina has only made that crusade go viral. Without getting into cartel business reporting all the people that go missing is something the other administrators for Valor of Tamaulipas can and should do. Peace.

Diwali and the Richmond sign law

As all the drama settles, I saw an interesting article the other day. Seemingly Richmond City council is considering making a sign bylaw requiring English. Are you kidding me? Here in BC we've always raised an eyebrow at Quebec's sign law. After all it's a free country. If someone wants to make a sign in Korean or Chinese or Punjabi, who cares? Let them. Now all of a sudden some residents in Richmond are starting to get creeped out as they become the minority. All of a sudden we now see how the French feel in Quebec.

The city council has backed off on the bylaw because a lawyer told them it would violate the Charter so they decided to send someone to have a talk with businesses that have Chinese only on their signs. Say hi to them for me will ya? Give them a warm welcome for me. Chinatown is the heartbeat of Vancouver. It's never been a problem before. Now all of a sudden we're getting red neck and racist? Come on people, we're above that.

Speaking of diversity, Happy Diwali everyone. Diwali is the festival of light kinda like Hanukkah. Vaisakhi is the one with the parade. Buddhists celebrate Diwali as well. My daughter reminded me it was Diwali. That's what all the fireworks were last night. I thought it was just another night of Halloween fireworks. A friend commented on how their daughter recently had to do a report on Diwali. They thought it was rather unfair the kids can celebrate other holidays but aren't even allowed to mention the word Christmas. That's a good point. We can do both.

Nina Grewel, an MP for Surrey doesn't have a problem with saying Merry Christmas. Diversity makes us strong. I'm all for butter chicken but I have to admit the Caribbean brothers make the best curry on the planet. I love a nice curry mutton with rice and peas and a Guinness stout. Now that's multicultural.

Hong Kong Protest Continues

The Economist is reporting that "On October 21st senior officials in Hong Kong held talks live on television with protesters clad in T-shirts displaying the slogan 'Freedom now'. The encounter was the first between the two sides since pro-democracy unrest broke out in Hong Kong nearly a month ago, and the first of its kind anywhere in China since hunger-striking students in Tiananmen Square met government leaders in 1989. The meeting, however, was as unproductive as the one 25 years ago... Hong Kong’s leader, Leung Chun-ying, has said that Hong Kong is “lucky” that the central government has not yet felt it necessary to intervene."

The Guardian is reporting that China is furious with Kenny's G's support of the Hong Kong protest for democracy. Wednesday morning, Kenny G had tweeted a picture of himself making a victory sign in front of a poster reading “Democracy of Hong Kong”, and wrote: “In Hong Kong at the sight of the demonstration. I wish everyone a peaceful and positive conclusion to this situation.”

China blocks Twitter. "Within hours of his tweet, the Chinese foreign ministry had issued a frosty condemnation of his display of solidarity. 'Kenny G’s musical works are widely popular in China, but China’s position on the illegal Occupy Central activities in Hong Kong is very clear,' ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a news briefing, according to Reuters. 'We hope that foreign governments and individuals speak and act cautiously and not support the Occupy Central and other illegal activities in any form,' she added." Is that why nothing is in the local press about this and why Ottawa is putting pressure on Vancouver to stop protests outside the Chinese consulate? When are we going to send in troops and air support to help their struggle for freedom?

Why isn't there anything in the local media about the fact that Fukishima is still leaking radioactive water into the pacific ocean? Is it because Harper is determined to sell Communist China nuclear reactors giving them the technology and materials to export nuclear weapons to every terrorist organization on the planet reigniting the nuclear arms race?

Why isn't there anything in the local media about the fact that Obama is in contempt of court for withholding the Fast and Furious documents? They didn't let Nixon get away with withholding the Watergate tapes after the court ordered him to produce them. Is the Borderland Beat the only ones covering Fast and Furious? Hong Kong supports Snowden. NBC: Hong Kong Protests

Hells Angels lose Ontario Liquor Licence Appeal

Back on track. QMI Agency is reporting on the the decision by the Ontario Licence Appeal Tribunal to strip Robert Barletta's strip club, Famous Flesh Gordon's, of its liquor licence. The decision lists some of the criminal activity the Ontario Hells Angels have committed that support their criminal organization status.

The Ontario Court of Appeal ruled a bar owner can be denied a liquor licence simply because he is a member of the Hells Angels. The written reasons and supporting facts of the decision " reveal a dozen full-patch Hells Angels and three "hangarounds" with 105 criminal convictions between them, as well as a new support club of at least four members, with 17 convictions between them. Last week, the tribunal ruled Barletta's connection to a criminal organization suggests he cannot carry on the business 'with law and integrity and honesty' -- requirements of the Liquor Licence Act." This is a copy of the reasons for judgement. The support club is the Gatekeepers.

Ottawa Shooting

Well it's all over the news. A Canadian solider was shot dead today in Ottawa near the Parliament buildings. The timing of this staged event is obscenely suspicious. Right before Harper and Trudeau Jr. passed an illegal bill that violated the Charter of Rights, CSIS foiled a terrorist bomb plot on Via Rail they set up to gain public support for the illegal bill. In Australia, right before parliament was to debate a similar bill doing away with civil liberty, their terrorist police shot an innocent man dead pretending he was a terrorist.

Today we have a radicalized white guy shoot a Canadian solder dead. Let me tell you that radicalized Islamic terrorists don't smoke pot or do PCP. This staged side show is to give Harper support for another absurdity. After CSIS was caught read handed by the RCMP for doing Air India, instead of charging them with murder Harper wants to give them more power to continue to break the Charter of Rights and use tax dollars to set up staged events like the Toronto 18. How about a task force to help CSIS find the 3.1 billion tax dollars they stole from their budget.

10:30 AM as the news was breaking live, the US department of defense was on hand to give their report. What on earth did the US department of defense have to do with this staged event? Did they set it up like the Surrey Pressure cooker fraud? Today is the day Canadian truthers have feared. The day when Canadian intelligence organizations would cross that sacred line like British and US intelligence agencies have done in the past. When instead of simply foiling a terrorist plot they set up, they actually murdered an innocent man. Today is a dark day indeed. Before giving CSIS more tax dollars to set up any more terrorist attacks and more power to break the Charter of Rights, they need to be criminally charged in the Air India bombing.

"While it is too early to jump to conclusions, I intend to hold fast to the following: we must ensure that this appalling act of violence is not used to justify a disproportionate response... We need to protect our rights and liberties in a democracy. We do know that through history these kinds of events open the door to a loss of democracy. Naomi Klein details the elements of seizing the opportunity created by tragedy or tumult in Shock Doctrine. The title of her new and important book on climate, This Changes Everything, is correct – the threat of the climate crisis changes everything. The shootings on Parliament Hill do not change everything. It is up to all of us to ensure that, to the extent we encounter demands for change, we keep in the forefront of our minds that once we surrender any rights it is very difficult to restore them." Elizabeth May

Is BC Safe from CSIS? Certainly Not!

In contrast today's Vancouver Province is dripping with absurdities. The dramatic headline reads: Parliament Attacked Is BC Safe? Page after page was filled with ridiculous articles festering the insanity. One article citing the shooters BC connection admits he was charged with robbery December 2011. Don't you think that's a bit suspicious? Muslim extremists get all freaked out about minor religious rules. They don't steal. That's a big one. They think if your hand causes you to steal you should cut off the person's hand. It is extremism. So any guy with a criminal record for theft or having pot and PCP is not a radicalized Muslim.

To my surprise even Michael Smyth jumped on the band wagon by bringing up the ultimate absurdity. The headline to his column in the printed edition read: Tragedy brings back memories of BC plot. Are you kidding me? The Canada Day plot was a bold faced lie. John Nuttall was originally charged March 2nd. Long before any Canada Day foiled plot.

Michael Smyth's article goes off about "That beautiful sunny day saw the front lawn of the legislature crowded with celebrating families. The thought of anyone contemplating the murder of so many innocents — including hundreds of children — seemed bizarre and surreal that day. Then you watch and listen to the madness in Ottawa, and you suddenly realize there’s nothing unreal about terror and hate. It can strike at the heart of any of our institutions at any time. That’s why the authorities must be vigilant to protect all Canadians everywhere." Did you really write that or did they just put your name on a CSIS press release?

That was the exact scenario CSIS dreamed up. John Nuttal did not have the means or the motive to carry out such a heinous crime but CSIS did. CSIS had the means, the motive and the previous criminal record for doing exactly that. CSIS gave John Nuttall the pressure cookers. They had food in them. They had no idea how to make a bomb out of them. The BC Pressure cooker fraud is the exact reason we need to investigate CSIS for this tragedy in Ottawa.

The police are asking anyone with any information about this crime to contact them. I have a tip for the police. Investigate CSIS. When you find out this radicalized Muslim with a criminal record for theft and drugs was connected to CSIS watch how fast they shut you up as a matter of national security just like they did when the RCMP investigated Michael Riconosciuto. The dejected officer shakes his head. "We got further than anyone else ever did on this case," he says, "and nobody outside of law enforcement will ever know what we found because no one in law enforcement can ever tell anyone what we found." I can tell you that if they found out that Michael Riconosciuto was guilty they'd be able to tell the world. The only possible thing they found that they can't tell the world is that he was innocent and everything he said about then agency was true but they can't confirm that because it's a matter of national security. Not. Oath Keepers arise.

Today we read that Squamish Nation councillors were stripped of powers after $1.5 million of emergency fund largely unaccounted for. How about stripping CSIS of powers after they reported $3.1 billion unaccounted for. Instead, Harper wants to give CSIS more power and pledges tougher security laws after this attack. Imagine that.

This attack was clearly staged. It was planned ahead of time. It serves as a tactical diversion for passing illegal bills in parliament that do away with civil liberty. Compare the US Patriot Act with the Soviet Criminal Act. When diversions like this occur, watch parliament and Defend Civil Liberty. They just passed Bill C-13 which is illegal. What CSIS did to Air India is no laughing matter.

The Tomb of the unknown soldier? Really? This is something so far fetched that only CSIS could dream up. No whacked out foreign terrorist is going to know what the tomb of the unknown soldier is and what it represents to Canadians. Let's say the shooter wasn't acting on his own and that he was with ISIS. Shooting a solder standing guard of the tomb of the unknown soldier is likely the worst thing conceivable they could do to gain support for their cause. In essence it would be literally begging us to kick their ass. We were initially led to believe that Afghanistan did 9/11. The result was we joined forces to invade them. Logically anyone with a brain knows these provocative attacks will result in war not retreat.

I'm not saying we shouldn't fight ISIS. Quite the contrary. When any group rises up to oppress others it behooves us to get involved. We don't need a Perl Harbour to force us to stand up for justice. I just don't think ISIS did this. I think there is an even bigger and much more serious threat out there that we are over looking. Kinda like how in the war we were so focused on Hitler we let ourselves be broadsided by Stalin. It's the same thing.

Anyone who knows anyone who was involved in the first and second world war knows that after the war there was a fair bit of animosity towards the Germans. We all thought how could they be so brainwashed to follow such a mad man. Well wait 'till I tell ye. Hitler burned down the German Parliament buildings and blamed it on terrorists so he could get extras powers. Then he burned down a German radio station and blamed it on Poland to justify and invasion. That's how. So ask yourself as you scoff at truthers, if we lived in Germany during the time of Hitler and terrorists burned down our parliament buildings would we not have done the same thing to rally together to opose the terrorists? Are we any different now then the Germans were then?

The greatest threat to Canadian civil liberty is not ISIS. The greatest threat to Canadian civil liberty is Stephen Harper. He's the one who desperately wants to burn the Charter of Rights. ISIS isn't the greatest threat to world peace either. All the Muslim countries hate ISIS. In Syria the government who used chemical weapons it bought from England says it's not us it's the other guys. The rebels trying to overthrow the government of Syria says it's not us it's the government. We can help the Muslim countries repel ISIS but ISIS isn't a real threat because the majority of Muslims hate them. The greatest threat to world peace is Stephen Harper. He's the one selling out Canadian sovereignty to Corporate Communism. He's the one helping Communist China and North Korea obtain and export nuclear weapons to every terrorist organization on the planet by selling them Canadian reactors. Clearly Stephen Harper is a much bigger threat to world peace than ISIS.

Harper's offensive fund raising in the wake of a soldier's death.

Canadian discusses the real motive behind the Ottawa shooting.

The Abby News is reporting that Federal NDP leader Tom Mulcair on Wednesday said last week's shootings in Ottawa were not 'terrorist' attacks. "When you look at the history of the individual, attempts to get help, even to be in prison to get help if that turns out to be the case, I think that we're not in the presence of a terrorist act in the sense that we would understand it," Mulcair said today. "I think that we have to be very careful with the use of the word 'terrorism', make sure that that's actually what we're dealing with."

Safe Surrey campaign video

The Huffington Post is reporting on a new Safe Surrey campaign video that admits Surrey isn't so safe. First I'll say it wasn't me. If it was I would have signed it Tom Jones or Agent K. If you check my podcasts you can tell that's not my voice. Doug McCallum says it wasn't him but it was obviously someone who supports his candidacy. I do support Doug McCallum's return to the mayor's office but I am concerned about his position on the Gateway Casino scam which greatly supports all the crime and corruption that video reported on.

There are indeed two sides to Surrey. A thriving metropolis and a seedy underworld which plagues most major cities and small towns in the world. Surrey has always been the brunt of jokes. The Surrey version of the Harlem shake was but one example. People who vocally complain surrey jokes are getting old are delusional and are in denial. The problem in Newton and around the Front Room in Whalley has become exponentially worse. Letting crack dealers sell crack in public is not the answer.

Monday night I cruised the strip outside the Front Room and was amazed at how the numbers have increased so dramatically. Nightshirt ministries were handing out food to a full house in front of the old liquidation world and there was still several angry mobs outside the strip preying on anyone who dare cross their path. It's not just a matter of homelessness. It's a matter of predatory drug dealers who exploit and brutalize the homeless. Like the DTES the Front Room has become the Zombie apocalypse.

A couple of Thanksgivings ago my daughter bought an extra turkey. She said she wanted us to cook it up and hand it out to the homeless on the street. We parked by Pigeon corner in East Van and started dishing it up out of the trunk of my car. One appreciative recipient came back for seconds and said wow this is a real home cooked meal. I commented on the fact that we were from surrey and he started to go off about the Front Room. He said he was just out of jail and was at the Front Room. He said that place is violent. If you don't jump in and help them give someone the boots, they'll give you the boots. I got out of there and came down here instead. My daughter and I thought it was ironic that someone left surrey and went to the DTES because they thought it was safer. The fact is, the area outside the Front Room is violent and predatory. That needs to be addressed because Dianne Watts and Surrey's Worst refused to do so.

Larry Mizen found dead - Update

CTV is reporting that Surrey's most ruthless drug debt enforcer was found dead in a Surrey basement at 136 Street and 110A Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night This is big news. If he wasn't responsible for Janice Shore's murder he knew who was. One source claims he used to work for Len Pelletier and Lenny's his bodyguard John Crowston.

Kevin Diakiw wrote an article on Larry Mizen.

Above is an old picture of Len Pelletier standing beside Chuck Liddell with John Crowston on the far left of the picture and his cousin Bob Green on the far right of the picture. I have a source that claims John, Lenny and Eric Montgomery ran houses in Surrey, Langley and Aldergrove. Eric Montgomery is Cliff Mongomery's brother. Eric moved to Abbotsford while Lenny kept doing business in Surrey for you know who. He went to Burnsview. His son took over the 856.

Evidently Larry' Mizen's employer terminated his contract. Everyone in the club seems to hate Lenny but put up with him because he makes money and hides behind Bob Green.

There seems to be a fair bit of overlap in jurisdiction when it comes to Surrey. Bob Green and Glen Hehn are with the Nomads but long time Surrey crystal meth cook worked for John Punko and the East Van Hells Angels. The court was told the East Vancouver Hells Angels hired contract killer Mickie (Phil) Smith to kill Paul Percy Soluk at a crack house in Surrey. Smith said a man he called Yurik helped him chop up and dispose of the body. Smith said "Yurik's not an Angel but he works with the Angels. I know he's done a lot of hits." Yurik didn't just do a few hits, he ran several crack houses in Surrey for the Hells Angles at the time. He's dead now too.

According to a US Indictment Randy Jones and the Whiterock Hells Angels (I mean the new Surrey Girls chapter) are deeply involved in the Surrey drug trade as well. Randy's brother Trevor is still waiting to be extradited on those charges. That was another huge cross border pot for cocaine drug ring tied to the Hells Angels. TBarz which is now called Shakerz was listed in court documents as the hub of that operation.

The road was still blocked off Monday night and IHIT had a tent set up. He was found in the house beside the apartment building. Locals say all the windows in the house were smashed and it was boarded up but apparently it was still being used as a crack house. All the pictures I have of Larry are from his public Facebook profile and are copyright free. The media is free to use them at will.

Right after Larry was found dead Scan BC reported that #Surrey #RCMP are investigating multiple reports of two vehicles shooting at each other at 100th Ave & 129 St. Casings found on the ground.

Update: Front Page of today's Vancouver Province was a picture of Larry Mizen holding that giant meat cleaver sword with the caption Whalley Monster Taken down. Very dramatic indeed. Yet this time the story calls for it. My pet peeve is the ridiculous reference to the Bacon brothers as being notorious that all the media outlets keep repeating like parrots. The Bacon brothers were not notorious. They were suburban princesses empowered by Larry Amero and the Hells Angels.

Although Larry Mizen was much more notorious than the Bacon brothers it's still not a word I'd use to describe him. I'd refer to him as ruthless and deranged not notorious. There is not a snowballs chance in hell Jamie Bacon would try and tax Larry Mizen simply because like the Ryan the Surrey meth cook, Larry was already working for the Big Red Machine. Why do you think he lasted so long?

In today's article the Vancouver Province interviewed a couple people who knew Larry. Let's apply those states to the test of believability so we can separate fact from fiction to clearly discern what has happened. Two facts presented in the article are the claims that Larry was associated with bikers and the Surrey House of Horrors. Those are facts. The claim that he was a renegades that would steel from the gangs including the Hells Angels is absurd. If he ever stole from the Hells Angels, he would not have been permitted to work for so many years. He was permitted to work so long because he was working for them.

It's quite possible the Hells Angels pulled a Juel Stanton and terminated his contract. Not because they didn't approve of all the hard work he did for them over the years but because he got them some bad press. The article claims "according to neighbors who have spoken with detectives, Mizen’s bloody body was found in the bathroom of his suite." I spoke with one of his neighbors Monday night. He said previously all the windows in that place had been broken and were boarded up. That would have been a message to leave town and that his contract was terminated. They came back to finish the job.

I have a source that claims Larry worked for Len Pelletier. Does that mean Pelletier's next to get capped? Unlikely because he is a money maker. Ron Lising and his merry band of misfits liked to TAX Lenny's guy's at every opportunity. It became a good source of income for them. The claim that Larry frequented the Surrey House of Horrors but never participated in any of the tortures that went on there is not believable. The Hells Angles ran the House of Horrors. Larry was an enforcer for them. He was directly involved in the violence associated with that hell hole.

The October Surprise

No, we're not talking about the Great Pumpkin. According to Wikipedia, "in American political jargon, the October surprise is a news event deliberately created to influence the outcome of an election, particularly one for the U.S. presidency."

Wikipedia also reports that "In the 1980 presidential election, Republican challenger Ronald Reagan feared that a last-minute deal to release American hostages held in Iran might earn incumbent Jimmy Carter enough votes to win re-election. As it happened, in the days prior to the election, press coverage was consumed with the Iranian government's decision—and Carter's simultaneous announcement—that the hostages would not be released until after the election."

"It was first written about in a Jack Anderson article in The Washington Post in the fall of 1980, in which he alleged that the Carter administration was preparing a major military operation in Iran for rescuing U.S. hostages in order to help him get reelected. Subsequent allegations surfaced against Reagan alleging that his team had impeded the hostage release to negate the potential boost to the Carter campaign."

"After the release of the hostages on January 20, 1981, minutes after Reagan's inauguration, some charged that the Reagan campaign had made a secret deal with the Iranian government whereby the Iranians would hold the hostages until after Reagan was elected and inaugurated."

"Abolhassan Banisadr, the former President of Iran, has also stated that the Reagan campaign struck a deal with Teheran to delay the release of the hostages in 1980, asserting that by the month before the American Presidential election in November 1980, many in Iran's ruling circles were openly discussing the fact that a deal had been made between the Reagan campaign team and some Iranian religious leaders in which the hostages' release would be delayed until after the election so as to prevent President Carter's re-election. He repeated the charge in My Turn to Speak: Iran, the Revolution & Secret Deals with the U.S."

That is what the real October Surprise was about. The allegation that Earl Brian along with George Bush Sr. and William Casey from the CIA met with Iranians in Paris and bribed them to keep the hostages until after the election so President Reagan and Vice President Bush could get elected over Jimmy Carter. The allegations include the claim that the money they used to bribe the Iranians to delay the release of the hostages was from the $50 million Earl Brian embezzled from Nesbitt Thompson clients in Canada. That was the real October surprise. Which forces the question, if they bribed them to delay the release of hostages, did they set the whole thing up and bribe them to take the hostages in the first place just to win the election?

Iran contra was not about selling Iran arms to release hostages. The New York Times reported that "Congress moved quickly to get to the bottom of the affair, in which the Reagan Administration sold arms to Iran and diverted some proceeds to the Nicaraguan rebels." Iran contra was about selling Iran arms to fund the contra rebels in Nicaragua.

They were selling chemical weapons including mustard gas to Saddam Hussein and arms to Iran both at the same time. It had nothing to do with supporting democracy. It was about making money. The Gary Webb story showed the CIA was also letting their contra assets bring cocaine into the US to raise money for their cause creating the US crack epidemic. The exact same time George Bush Sr. was leading the war on drugs in the media he in reality created the problem.

The Site C Dam is better than a Nuclear Reactor

While we're on the subject of sustainable business, we need to talk about the Site C Dam. The mob is fickle and the politicians are spineless. As we speak an oil tanker is drifting aimlessly without power set to crash into the Haida Gwaii off the BC coast. Are we supposed to sit back and watch it happen? Of course not. The coast guard was able to tow it away from running aground temporarily to buy enough time for some tug boats to get there to take control of the situation.

Some people will complain about anything and everything no matter what. There is no pleasing everyone. Some people even complained about the wind generator they put on Grouse mountain. Come on. Are we really supposed to sit at home in the dark without computers, iPhones or Internet and not go anywhere? Oil spills, tar sands and toxic tailing pools of fresh water are legitimate environmental concerns. Nuclear reactors are another.

As we speak the Fukishima reactor is still leaking radioactive water into the pacific ocean contaminating an ocean of fish and an entire food supply. Instead of arguing back and forth trying to hide and deny that fact, let's put our heads together and stop the freaking leak. We can argue about clean up until the cows come home. Until then let's stop the leak and stop it from getting worse. Hiding that ongoing disaster is not socially responsible.

There are huge concerns with nuclear reactors. As we have seen, they are dangerous and can create serious health risks in any natural disaster. As we have seen, they produce radioactive waste that is virtually impossible to dispose of safely. Not only that, but when we give China, Libya or anywhere else nuclear reactors we give them the technology and materials to make nuclear weapons. That is not socially responsible. As we speak Stephen Harper has relaunched the nuclear arms race.

In contrast, hydro electric dams are much safer and environmentally friendly. Next time you go to Grouse mountain, stop off at the Cleavland Dam and take a look at the horrible environmental damage that longstanding dam has done to the ecosystem. It has created a wonderful park and lake that is still used as a water shed for drinking water. It is totally clean and has powered Vancouver for many years.

Have you ever gone boating on Stave Lake or Alouette lake? Those lakes were created by hydro electric dams. There are numerous dams in the lower mainland that have served us well. They are clean and sustainable. As I've said, some people will complain about everything given the chance. Flooding a forest is an initial concern. So log it first before it's taken out by a forest fire or the pine beetle. If people own land that will be flooded, they have to be fairly compensated.

Years ago I was handing out flyers in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery. A couple of transient punk rocker kids were giving me a hard time and yelled out "How many trees did it take to make your flyers?!" Without hesitation I yelled back "How many trees did it take the last time you went to the bathroom?!" He stopped in his tracks and with a stunned look on his face turned to his girlfriend as if to ask what the hell I was talking about. She finally broke the awkward silence by saying "Toilet paper. Everyone uses toilet paper and it takes trees to make toilet paper." The guy just kind of pondered that for a while and realized that he and everyone else uses trees to some extent. The challenge is to be sustainable. Cut down a tree and plant three in it's place. That's responsible. Clear cutting forests without tree planting is not.

When I look at the Site C Dam proposal it looks like a freaking park with a lake that would be teaming with boaters and recreational uses. It's a lot better than a nuclear reactor. It never ceases to amaze me that with all the relatively modern technology of splitting an atom, all the brain surgeons do with it is create heat to boil water to turn a steam turbine that generates electricity. The same thing a hydro electric Dam does only not as effective. Hydro electric dams are the power of nature. Imagine tapping the power of the Niagara falls. That's what hydro electric dams do.

The only real concern that I can see is the risk to spawning salmon. So how do we respond? We create a fish hatchery which improves the survival rate of the Salmon. On your way to Grouse mountain and the Cleavland Dam on Capliano Road, stop off at the fish ladder and hatchery on the way. You can see if for yourself and hike all around that wonderful sustainable ecosystem.

Take a look at the location of the proposed Dam. There are already two dams on the same river up stream. Stave Lake and Bunsen Lake are a chain of dams and tunnels that lead into other dams. That's good business. We would be much better off helping China build hydro electric dams then helping them build coal plants and nuclear reactors to reignite the nuclear arms race.

Note: Using the site C Dam to collect water to sell to the US for fracking would be a bad idea. Using the dam to generate electricity is a good idea. Electric cars need electricity to operate.
