Postmedia and Torstar cut deal to eliminate 36 newspapers

Bloody Hell. The Financial Post is reporting that "Canada’s two largest newspaper chains will close three-dozen community and free commuter newspapers after striking a deal to swap newspapers struggling with declining print advertising revenue. Postmedia Network Inc. and Torstar Corp. announced Monday they traded 41 publications and plan to close 36 papers in places where they compete. The shuttering of 34 papers in Southern Ontario, one in Winnipeg and one in Vancouver will eliminate 291 jobs and save each company between $5 million to $7 million annually." Do we see what's happening?

The Postmedia corporate monopoly owns pretty much all of the newspapers in Western Canada. There is no free speech because they have eliminated competition and the free market. When all the newspapers are owned by the same entity, they become easier to control and the content is driven to build corporate advertising. That is why all the local papers sound the same and are brainwashing us with the same corporate agenda.

The Toronto Star and the Torstar conglomerate are one of the only other media outlets in Canada. Do you see what they did? The two corporate giants cut a deal to eliminate competition. Remember the Surrey Leader? Surrey had two newspapers, the Now and the Leader. When the Postmedia monopoly acquired both papers they did away with the Surrey Leader with one sweep of the pen and fired everyone who worked there. Obviously they saved money but the integrity of the industry went down the toilet.

The Vancouver Sun and the Vancouver Province are now both owned by the Postmedia corporate monopoly. After they acquired both newspapers they had the Chief Editor of the Vancouver Sun take over that role for both papers and put the Chief Editor for the Vancouver Province back into the field to save money. What was the result of that move? Both papers are clones of each other. There is no difference between the two. Reporters for the Sun now also write for the Province and visa versa. All the local newspapers are clones of each other.

Toronto Mike has listed the 36 newspapers the new deal will shut down. Top of the list is the Toronto and Vancouver editions of the 24 hours. People may ask, why would a corporation acquire a competitor then shut it down? To eliminate the competition. Corporate monopolies are in opposition to the free market. It is the road to Corporate Communism. Especially when the corporate monopoly uses it's media monopoly to brainwash consumers with propaganda. Welcome to the Brave new World. Yet all is not lost.

As I've said before the Media Clone Wars has created an opening in the market. The free market means anyone can set up their own independent media outlet to satisfy supply and demand. The internet is free game. August this blog broke 20 million hits. 4 months later and we broke another million hits. Vloggers on Youtube like Lilly Singh actually make a lot of coin.

We also need to realize that when the local papers run a frontpage article cramming corporate corruption down our throat we can take it with a grain of salt and remember who is paying them to write that. CBC is still independent and is much more objective than the postmedia monopoly.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: God save the Queen

Well it's official. Prince Harry is engaged to Meghan Markle. Congratulations! Normally I don't give a rats ass what the royals do. It's their business. However, due to some of the insanely racist comments I will point out the obvious. Do we not know who Prince Harry is? He is the son of Princess Diana, the best thing that ever happened to the royal family.

Prince Harry has followed his heart and has chosen to marry a biracial American actress. Biracial? She's half black. Not that it matters because it doesn't. Why she's even part Irish so she is. Some Brits will be more opposed to that then her being part black.

One of the comments on twitter was our soldiers didn't die for this. Ah actually yes they did. This is exactly what they died for. Hitler was the one that talked about a superior race. Hitler was on the other side of the battlefield. In the United States Martin Luther King had a dream that one day men and women would be judged by the content of their character not by the color of their skin.

She's beautiful. They look happy. They make a wonderful couple. I cant wait to see what kind of noble acts her kind heart reveals. Let's get to know her beauty from within before we cast stones and reveal our own ignorance. It's time for our civilized society to get educated.

Michaƫlle Jean was the first black Governor General of Canada. She was a refugee from Haiti. She was genuine and sincere and cared about the people. She served well.

Senator John McCain tells Hillary Clinton to move on

Newsweek is reporting that "Senator John McCain says Hillary Clinton should not have published her book so soon after losing the 2016 election because it makes her look like she’s still campaigning and has nothing else to do. “What’s the f-----g point? Keep the fight up? History will judge that campaign, and it’s always a period of time before they do,” McCain told Esquire magazine in a long interview Monday. “You’ve got to move on. This is Hillary’s problem right now: She doesn’t have anything to do.” Exactly. It's time for her to move on.

Honduras Election

It is somewhat amusing to see how the American media is spinning the Honduran election. Reuters is reporting that " A TV host was on course for victory in the Honduran presidential race on Monday, in a dramatic election that upended forecasts of a win for the country’s U.S.-friendly incumbent. Flamboyant entertainer Salvador Nasralla, 64, was ahead by a 5 point margin with 70 percent of ballots counted, election official Marcos Ramiro Lobo told Reuters. That was too large a lead for his rival, center-right President Juan Orlando Hernandez, to overcome, Lobo said."

The New York Times is reporting that "A TV host was on course for victory in the Honduran presidential race on Monday, in a dramatic election that upended forecasts of a win for the country’s U.S.-friendly incumbent.". Now The New York Times is very credibility. However, *someone* is feeding them information that might not be entirely acurate and it *might* be the same ones that were involved in the Honduran Coup back in 2009.

Article 239 of the Honduras constitution clearly prohibits a president from serving more than one term and indicates that anyone who tries to amend Article 239 should be removed from office and disqualified from performing any public responsibilities for ten years. In 2009 when Zelaya tried to hold a referendum to amend the constitution the US (Hillary Clinton & the CIA's drug traficking network) supported a military coup removing him. Fast forward to 2017. Conservative President Juan Orlando Hernandez amended the constitution to let him run again without a referendum and the US supported it.

Why did the US support a coup against a president who tried to hold a referendum to amend the constitution to let him run a second term but support a successive president who amended the constitution without a referendum? Simply because Juan Orlando Hernandez is conservative while Manuel Zelaya was a liberal who formed an alliance with the left. That was his crime.

The people of Honduras don't like Juan Hernandez because he changed the constitution without a referendum. That's why they voted him out. It has nothing to do with being pro or anti America. In contrast we must ask is America pro or anti democracy? That is what's really on the table.

Update: CIA suports Honduras voter fraud

Montreal Police crack down on fentanyl, Vancouver Police promote it

The Revelstoke Mountaineer is reporting that after two people died of fentnyl overdoses in Montreal six weeks later the montrel police "had conducted six raids, arresting 13 drug dealers linked to the two deaths. They seized $19,000 in cash, along with fentanyl, about 500 grams of heroin, meth and other drugs. Montreal police chief Philippe Pichet was blunt commenting after the last raid: 'We will follow and stop those who put (fentanyl) into narcotics.' Note his choice of words. Pichet was announcing the priority for his department’s drug enforcement efforts, he was declaring war on fentanyl to stave-off a public health crisis.”

Why do we promote poison in lethal injection sites? It is a conflict of interest. Why do we give the fentanyl dealers police protection in the DTES and on the Surrey strip? That is illegal.

Site C company tied to South Korea coruption

The Times Colonist is reporting that "In November 2015, B.C. Hydro announced that its preferred proponent for the Site C main civil-works contract was Peace River Hydro Partners, which includes Acciona Infrastructure, Petrowest Corp. and Samsung C&T.

As was first raised in this space more than a year ago, all three were facing problems at the time. Samsung Group was under investigation for bid-rigging and corruption in South Korea, Acciona was under investigation for corruption in Spain — two executives were arrested by Spanish authorities less than a month after the Site C deal was signed — and Petrowest was “living on borrowed time” from its lenders. There have been a few developments since. In August, the head of Samsung, Jay Y. Lee, was sentenced to five years in prison for bribery, after being found guilty of “offering bribes to the country’s former president and other crimes.” Petrowest finally succumbed to borrowed time and went into receivership in August. As for “on time and on budget,” Site C is neither and likely never was, despite B.C. Hydro claiming otherwise."

Samsung Group was tied to bid-rigging and corruption in South Korea which triggered massive protests causing the president to resign. Meanwhile back on the ranch, massive project overruns on the Site C dam and nobody cares. Evidently they only convict corruption in South Korea.

Pentatonix Christmas

Vancouver Christmas Market

We checked out the German Christmas market in Vancouver today. It was nice to go before the crowds get crazy. Now it's at Jack Poole Plaza where the Olympic Cauldron is beside Canada Place. The Christmas market is a great place to get authentic food and handmade crafts. It costs $10 to get in but if you pay an extra dollar you can get a seasons pass which is well worth it. I don't like the mulled wine. Sugary red wine just isnt my thing. I prefer the dark beer myself.

The Trans Siberian Orchestra is another Christmas tradition. They're awesome.

Calgary: largest fentanyl bust in ALERT history

CBC is reporting that "Investigators confiscated record-setting amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl pills in a year-long operation dubbed Project Offshore that Calgary police say took more than $4 million in drugs off the streets. Over the course of the operation, 11 houses in Calgary were searched, turning up 15,757 fentanyl pills, 28 kilograms of methamphetamine, 6.7 kilograms of cocaine and 75 kilograms of cocaine buffing agent, ALERT says."

"The fentanyl seizure is the largest of its kind by ALERT, while the meth seizure nearly doubles the previous record for all of Alberta. Given the health crisis our communities have faced over opioid abuse, there is no doubt in my mind that lives have been saved." No kidding.

This is how you save lives and confront organized crime. By getting fentanyl off the streets. Not with Lethal Injection sites. Public opinion claims the Edmonton Police Service is compromised. That's why ALERT is the one confronting drug trafficking not the EPS.

Now the BC Gang task Force is compromised. They no longer target drug trafficking. They give the Hells Angels drug dealers police protection in the DTES and on the Surrey strip and pay millions of dollar to Hells Angels drug dealers and enforcers in exchange for letting them continue as long as they rat out a few small time rivals. In Alberta the gang task force is confronting organized crime. In BC they are promoting it.

The Sonoma Angels Indictment

The Aging Rebel is reporting that "the United States Attorney for the Northern District of California released the indictment that actually charges 10 members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club and one former member with racketeering. The indictment, titled U.S. v. Jonathan Joseph Nelson at al., is a 17 page document appended to 20 pages of indictment sheets. The club members belong to three charters: Sonoma, Fresno and Salem, Massachusetts."

Last year we cited a San Francisco Gate article stating "When a 49-year-old Santa Rosa woman learned her husband was about to be stripped of his membership in the notorious Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, police say she met with a member over the weekend to get answers. Instead of receiving an explanation, officials say she was sexually assaulted by the former president of the outlaw biker group’s Sonoma County chapter and forced to comply for the sake of her husband’s safety. Her attacker, 53-year-old Rohnert Park resident Raymond Michael Foakes, was arrested Monday night on suspicion of sexual assault, victim intimidation, stalking and gang participation."

Ray Foakes was the former president of the Sonoma County Hells Angels. As the Aging Rebel points out, the rape allegation and the murder of a third person in the Fresno clubhouse are the big charges. The rest appear to be minor charges of assaulting people and stealing their motorcycles. Who does that anyways? Only rats steal motorcycles. Freaking rodents. I thought rape was against the HA rules? Evidently not. What they say and what they do are two different things. Mom Boucher got his patch after getting out of jail for armed rape.

In 2006 Ray Foakes was charged with possessing and distributing crystal meth. In 2008 his brother in law was shot dead beside him in the truck he was driving after Hells Angels in a prosession behind him swarmed a vehicle in a road rage incident.

Credibility concerns at the Kevin LeClair murder trial

Kim Bolan is reporting that "A defence lawyer for alleged gang hitman Cory Vallee said in B.C. Supreme Court on Wednesday that a key Crown witness made up a confession from his client in order to get a deal from police." The lawyer then cited some details of what the witness claimed to police that Vallee told him about the LeClair hit that did not line up with other evidence called earlier in the trial. There has been huge credibility concerns with paid crown witnesses lately.

Aside from the credibility concerns of the paid police witness, the actual testimony he gave about the murder confession is absolutely absurd. The crown claims As Vallee sipped his soup, D said: “I just looked at him and I said `Everything went OK? And then he just kind of looked up at me and nodded and gave a smile, yep, and he just went back to eating his soup.” I don't really see that as a confession to the murder. Is everything OK? Yes it is. There was no confession.

Initially the police claimed the Bacon's ordered the hit on Kevin because Kevin was cooperating with the police with regards to the Surrey Six along with everyone else who saw that outrageous event as a turning point in the public's conscience about murder. However, it appears the police were lying to that witness in hopes they would testify against the Bacons.

My concerns remain consistent. The police are not trying to stop drug trafficking, they are only trying to seize the proceeds of crime in exchange for letting it continue. The police have no regard for truth or justice. Putting Blaze on their payroll is evidence of that.

Chinatown sues City over lethal injection sites

The Vancouver Sun is reporting that "Chinatown’s business association is taking its fight against Edmonton’s newly approved safe injection sites to court. In a federal court application filed earlier this month, the Chinatown and Area Business Association is seeking a judicial review of the federal health minister’s Oct. 17 decision to grant an exemption to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for three of the four planned community-based safe injection sites."

Thank God someone has a brain. The Majority of taxpayers in Edmonton did not want lethal injection sites but the special interest organized crime lobbyists crammed it through anyways. Lethal injection sites are illegal. They knowingly and intentionally break the law. Its about time someone took them to court over it. We need treatment for addicts not poison promotion which directly increases violent crime. Treatment saved Kati. Lethal injection sites did not.

In June of this year the Edmonton Sun reported that "Nearly 200 protestors gathered outside of the Alberta Legislature on Saturday to speak out against a concentration of safe injection sites in the Boyle, McCauley and Central McDougall neighbourhoods that they say is part of a larger issue of systemic ghettoization.”

In October of this year CBC reported that "A central Edmonton resident says she has evidence city officials planned the locations of supervised drug injection sites long before community residents were consulted." Health Canada is a criminal organization. They do not promote health. They promote the pharmaceutical fraud they are tied to.

Man shot near Surrey School

The Peace Arch News is reporting that "Police are looking for a suspect after a man was shot near Surrey’s Royal Heights Elementary school Thursday morning. Surrey RCMP say a call came in about a shooting near the Surrey/Delta border at 96th Avenue and 116th Street at about 8:40 a.m. Police say the victim is a 33-year-old man from Surrey. He was taken to hospital and the extent of his injuries is not yet known." Royal Heights is actually North Delta.

New Brunswick first province to secure marijuana supply

The Times Colonist is reporting that "New Brunswick says it has become the first province to fully secure its supply of recreational marijuana. It announced a memorandum of understanding with Zenabis to provide four million grams (4,000 kilos or 4 tons) of cannabis and derivative products with a retail value of about $40 million." Zenabis is located in Atholville, NB and Delta, BC.

"The Zenabis deal is expected to create about 450 jobs over the next two years in the village of Atholville." The "location in Delta, B.C., which will be growing 4,000 kilograms of marijuana and sending it back east every year as part of the new deal."

The next question is what about the free market? That is what Marc and Jodie Emery are pushing for. Free market pot is like generic drugs. Everyone hates pharmaceutical monopolies. The NDP government has been big on generic medicine to break the monopolies and provide affordable medicine. Time will tell if they apply that to free market pot in BC.

Although I did not vote for the legalization of pot and prefered the decriminalization of pot, now that it is being legalized I support free market pot. You can't legalize pot then say only the big pharmaceutical companies can grow it. That's like saying your not allowed to grow tobacco or tomatoes if you want to. It's absurd. If the Hells Angels want to grow and sell legal pot let them. Just dont let them have a monopoly on the market. Let anyone grow it. Supply and Demand yo.

Mr. Bill strikes again

Why is this not surprising? The Telegraph is reporting that "Bill Clinton facing four sexual assault lawsuits after fresh allegations made against the former president." I don't want to minimize the recent trend of reporting sexual harassment and since I mentioned George Bush Sr's new allegations it's only fitting I mention Bill Clinton's new allegations just so we show that both sexual harassment and drug trafficking are non partition. In Fact, the Bush Clinton Fraud was joined at the hip since Mr. Bill was a brother from another mother yo. Barry Seal and Chip Tatum what?!

A party bus burst into flames in Vancouver

CBC is reporting that "No one was injured after a party bus burst into flames in downtown Vancouver Saturday night. Several witnesses shared video of the fire on social media, which officials said was burning in the rear of the vehicle when crews first arrived around 10 p.m.

'They did have a challenge with shutting off the engine,' said Assistant Chief John Zacharuk with Vancouver Fire Rescue Services. 'They had no way of shutting off the engine as the cab was burnt, so they had to manually choke off the air filter.' Zacharuk said the fire also spread to a nearby tree and part of a storefront awning. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation."

Hells Angels might lose Niagara clubhouse

The National Post is reporting that "The home of one of Niagara’s most notorious criminal organizations may soon face the wrecking ball. Lawyers representing the owners of the Hells Angels clubhouse on Darby Road in Welland, Ont., have until Dec. 6 to appeal a ruling that the building be forfeited to the Ontario government. If they don’t appeal or an appeal fails, the fortified building will likely be demolished, police sources tell The Standard."

“Based on this evidence, I conclude that the clubhouse is used as safe haven to plan illegal activities, including the drug trade, and to guard against police interference with those activities,” Akabarli says. “I am satisfied that church meetings were not simply opportunities to discuss clubhouse maintenance but that the clubhouse was used to hold these meetings in order to facilitate and plan unlawful activity.” She also says it was reasonable to conclude that members of the Hells Angels used drug money to pay club dues which were then used to pay the mortgage on the buildings. “I thus conclude that the mortgage was paid down, at least in part, through funds acquired through unlawful activity. (The clubhouse) is thus proceeds from unlawful activity.”

Gerard Ward and the Niagara chapter have a long history of drug trafficking. It doesn't look like there is much grounds for an appeal. Former Niagara Regional Police constable Frank Dean Rudge was convicted of leaking information to the Hells Angels in 2013.

Zavisa Drecic, a former member of the Niagara Hells Angels, had been transferred to the Woodbridge chapter when he was caught trafficking the date-rape drug and cocaine in the Toronto area. Hells Angels associate Nicola Nero of Niagara Falls served nine years for selling cocaine to a police informant while on bail for stealing $2.7 million from an armored car in 2003.

Rabih Alkhalil, who is from Surrey, was caught in a huge 400 kilo a week Hells Angels cocaine ring out of Niagara. Larry Amero was his co accused in that case. Rabih Alkhalil has also been charged in the murder of Johnnie Raposo in Toronto. Nic Nero was his co accused in that case.

Orlando Bowen: Assaulted, charged and acquitted

More actuations of Toronto police planting cocaine on a suspect after they assaulted him. This time on W5. Orlando Bowen was a long time CFL football player with a long history of community service. Tonight W5 ran the story of how he was assaulted by police and was charged with drug possession after they planted cocaine on him. In court the two officers testimony was filled with contradictions. Then when one of the officers was charged with cocaine possession on a separate matter, the judge dismissed the charges against Orlando stating that the police officer's testimony was not credible. W5 did a great job covering the story.

One of the officers, Sheldon Cook, left the police force after his cocaine charges in an RCMP sting where he stole a brick of fake cocaine believing it was real. The other police officer, Grant Gervais, is still with the force and ended up getting a promotion. Sound familiar? Orlando's civil suit was settled out of court.

More recently, four Toronto police officers who were accused of planting cocaine on a suspect walked away from more than two dozen perjury and obstruction-of-justice charges over trial delays that resulted in the polices refusal to comply with disclosure of evidence. The Toronto police department need to leave Marc Emery alone and start cleaning up its own corruption. Especially after the news of a promising new officer just died of a suspicious fentanyl overdose.

Montreal warned Toronto about drug officers

The Singapore Drug Model

It's pretty obvious Canada's drug model is a colossal failure. Harm reduction has become harm promotion. By removing the other three pillars in the four pillars program all we are doing is promoting addiction and organized crime. One concerned citizen fed up with the pharmaceutical fraud burning tax dollars on promoting poison instead of treatment cited the Singapore model. I would like to suggest a balance between the extremes.

The first policy on drugs that stands out in Singapore is the fact that drug trafficking is punishable by death. Obviously that is an abused extreme. However, recognizing that fact is not justification for us to jump to the opposite extreme. Neither extremes are healthy elements of a free republic. You ask all the businesses in Whalley and they will tell you straight up that they are fed up with harm promotion. People need food and housing not drugs.

Illegal lethal injections sites don't make drugs free. By promoting addiction they also promote crime because addicts steal to pay for the drugs since when it comes to addiction, enough is never enough. Everyone agrees we need more treatment. However, most drug rehabs houses in Surrey don't help addicts get off drugs. They are just smoke and mirror distractions trying to pretend we are are supporting rehab when we are doing the exact opposite. By providing the drug dealers police protection in the DTES and on the Survey Strip we are promoting crime and thereby supporting lawlessness. Not only that but we are also promoting a huge pharmaceutical fraud that is burning tax dollars faster than we can collect them.

Not arresting the drug dealers selling fentanyl on the Surrey strip is insane. Not arresting the drug dealers selling fentanyl outside rehab houses is even worse. It forces us to ask which side are the police on? Going after Marc Emery for selling pot knowing pot is being legalized federally, while they offer police protection to drug dealers selling fentanyl makes the whole system look corrupt.

We need three things. Enforcement of the current laws which we are knowingly breaking in the DTES and on the Surrey strip. Addicts need treatment. Treatment saved Kati, lethal injection sites did not. We also need prevention. We need to educate people and tell them the obvious: drugs are harmful. They are poisonous to the body. We need to stop denying that obvious fact.

Former methadone clinic doctor says he was told to "get them on a high dose and keep them there". Welcome to the Great Canadian Pharmaceutical Fraud.

A space to shoot up, but no space for addiction treatment.

Andrew Weaver's position on the Site C Dam

Gordon Clark from the Vancouver Province put out a redeeming editorial about B.C. Green party leader Andrew Weaver's position on the Site C Dam. In the editorial he states: "I asked why the Greens were so opposed to what is one of the greenest power-generation projects imaginable and something he had previously supported."

"He agreed that B.C.’s low carbon footprint, by First World standards, is largely due to the hydroelectric dams built in the past, but for him the issue comes down to cost. He is less concerned about issues raised by other environmentalists in and outside his party, such as the flooding of the valley, loss of farmland and native concerns. Weaver said he supported Site C when it was expected to cost $4.5 billion, but not now that estimates have soared to $12 billion or higher." Hydro electric power is green. It's a lot better than nuclear reactors.

As for the massive over budget costs, that can be easily explained by the involvement of one of the world's largest criminal organizations, SNC-Lavalin. Weaver supported the Dam when it costs $4.5 billion, but now that costs have skyrocketed to over $12 billion he no longer supports the proposal. That is a colossal project over run. That is the method of operation of SNC-Lavalin and Lockheed Martin. They under bid and overcharge contracts. No one complains because they give the politicians kickbacks and campaign contributions which perpetuates the tax fraud forever.

Speaking of Lockheed Martin fraud, I notice that Boeing has started putting out commercials about how they support Canada. Indeed they do. The Financial Post lists several reasons why Boeing is good for Canada. Boeing is good. Lockheed Martin is bad. SNC-Lavalin is horrific. We need to ban SNC-Lavalin from BC. That would be in the taxpayers best interest.

Trump slams Lockheed Martin over F-35 Cost overruns. "Based on the tremendous cost and cost overruns of the Lockheed Martin F-35, I have asked Boeing to price-out a comparable F-18 Super Hornet!" Now that's what I'm talking about.

Thanks to Gwen Morgan, the corruption ridden SNC-Lavalin now works for Translink. The Evergreen line has consequently met with budget over runs. Imagine that. The problem is, SNC-Lavalin also builds light rail. Giving SNC-Lavalin the contract for the LRT on 104th Avenue that no one here wants, would be an act of treason. Even Rail for the Valley would oppose that.

Dianne Watts ran for the federal Conservatives. SNC-Lavalin gave massive political donations to the Conservatives and the Liberals both. Dianne Watts is pushing the Surrey LRT insanity down 104th. Do the math. More tax fraud just like Campbell Heights.
