Mounties were called to an industrial area in the Cariboo community on Tuesday evening, RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson said in a news release on Thursday, after someone called 911 saying they heard shots fired. Saunderson said investigators arrived to find a person dead. The victim died as a result of homicide."

"During the course of the investigations, police seized more than five kilograms of cocaine, and more than $900,000 in Canadian currency," the RCMP said in a news release. Martin, who pleaded guilty on June 24, 2021, will serve both sentences consecutively, minus time already served. La Presse is reporting that "Suspected drug traffickers, linked to the Hells Angels and established in east Montreal for several years, were arrested Thursday for murder and other violent acts committed in Montreal last year, for gangsterism and for drug trafficking."
