Hells Angels associate from BC arrested in Thailand
Kim Bolan is reporting that "A B.C. man who has been linked to the Independent Soldiers gang is facing drug smuggling charges in Thailand. Blair Curtis Stephens, 38, was arrested earlier this month in Bangkok, along with a Thai national. The head of the Thai Office of Narcotics Control Board said other Canadians are also involved in the smuggling operation, which was allegedly mailing heroin hidden in shock absorbers from Thailand to Australia."
"B.C.’s anti-gang agency says Stephens left Canada about six years ago when he became the focus of law enforcement in this province." Police seized 3.7 kilos of heroin in Thailand. Since he sold drugs in BC for the Independent Soldiers that means he worked for the Hells Angels.
Two previous stories about the Hells Angels in Thailand are of interest. Errol Gildea is President of HAMC Nomads Thailand. He has an interesting social preference.
The other story involves the murder of Wayne Schneider. Wayne was a full patch member of the Hells Angels originally from Australia like Errol. He was in charge of the Hells Angels drug trafficking in Thailand until he was murdered by his bodyguard so another Hells Angel named Luke Joshua Cook could take over the drug trade from him in Thailand. Luke was convicted of helping the shooter escape. As always, the president of the chapter would continue to get his cut.
Now Luke Joshua Cook is on death row while the shooter got off, so in steps BC Hells Angels associate Blair Curtis Stephens to fill the void. As always, no matter who they pick to replace him, the local President would still get his cut of the drug money. The local president also approved all murders within is jurisdiction.
None of my information came from the BC Gang Task force.

Transit Police officer shot near Scott Road SkyTrain station in Surrey - Update
CBC is reporting that "Transit Police say one of their officers was shot near the Scott Road SkyTrain station around 4 p.m. PT. A spokesperson said the officer should be OK. Surrey RCMP said the suspect remains at large and may be armed." That's a first. Usually these gang bangers just shoot each other. City TV is reporting that the shooting took place during rush hour and that the police are searching Bridgeview for the suspect. Bridgeview? Figures.
The police have released a surveillance video of the suspect. This kid is screwed. He is going to get in a lot of trouble from the people he got the gun from. They're probably going to kill him before the police do just to get the heat off of them.
Suspect named:
The Canadian Press is reporting that "Police say they have identified 35-year-old Daon Gordon Glasgow as the alleged gunman and he has a history of violence."
Global is reporting that " Daon Glasgow has a criminal record including a B.C. conviction for drug trafficking and major theft charges from Ontario. He was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large at the time of Wednesday’s shooting. Glasgow was initially sentenced to 10 years in prison, minus a year for time served."
"In 2015 the BC Court of Appeal reduced that sentence to 8.5 years, granting him time-and-a-half credit for time served prior to trial. Glasgow pleaded guilty in 2011 to manslaughter in the 2010 shooting death of Terry Scott in a McDonald’s bathroom during a drug deal gone wrong."
Glasgow was granted statutory release for that murder Oct. 26, 2018.
Suspect arrested in transit officer shooting
The Canadian Press is reporting that "Police say they arrested a man days after he allegedly shot a transit officer in Surrey, B.C., on Wednesday. McDonald says Glasgow was arrested Sunday around 5:30 a.m. at a four-plex home in Burnaby, B.C. He's being held on an outstanding warrant of being unlawfully at large. McDonald says Glasgow has not yet been charged in the shooting, but police are working with the B.C. Prosecution Service."
McCallum attack ads continue to flog a dead horse
The tainted Vancouver Sun / Province is reporting that "Surrey’s residents are being left in the dark about how and why their city plans to move from the RCMP to a municipal police force."
That isn't just uncredible, that is a bold faced lie with malicious intent. This was a front page article promoting a bold faced lie. That isn't journalism. That is propaganda. Post Media News isn't worth wiping your a*s with let alone lining the bottom of a bird cage.
I am a Surrey resident and I most certainly am not left in the dark about how and why city plans to move from the RCMP to a municipal police force. That was one of McCallum's two main campaign promises. He won the election by a landslide. Post Media Propaganda promoted the other tax and spend candidate because his fiscal irresponsibility fit in with their corporate sponsors. As soon as McCallum was elected they launched two separate campaigns to overthrow the results of the democratic election by keeping the RCMP and the LRT.
Well guess what, the Mayors council recommends Skytrain over LRT as the recommended transit to UBC. No kidding. When Matsqui and Abbotsford amalgamated they chose a municiple force over the RCMP. This isn't rocket science. It is a natrual consequence of growth. Surrey has outgrown the RCMP. That's all there is to it. Surrey is the largest city in Canada that doesn't have it's own municipal police force. The sour grapes opposition to that progress is suspect.
Councillor Laurie Guerra said "I am very concerned about public safety but we as a council have voted in favour of a municipal police force and I don’t see the need nor do I have the desire to rehash old debates.” Exactly! That's what the election was for.
Murder charges stayed against Billy Ly
Kim Bolan is reporting that "The witnesses against Ly were expected to be some of the same former United Nations gangsters identified only as A, B, C and D, who testified at the trial of UN gang hitman Cory Vallee." That is freaking hilarious. Blaze and his fly sh*t rat pack of unscrupulous witnesses had no problem lying in court about Corey Vallee. That was easy money. Testifying against Billy Ly isn't so easy. Not even they are that stupid.

Hells Angels lawyer complains about David Eby
You know you're doing something right when a lawyer for the Hells Agnels complains about how good a job you are doing and tries to gain public support for his own pathetic pity party. Matthew Nathanson wrote a conflicted rant about David Eby which smelt foul.
First he went off on a dramatic red herring about ICBC to generate public pity. You can tell he's worked for the Hells Angels. His real concern was David Eby's attack on money laundering in BC Casinos. After all he represented the accused. That makes every word that comes out of his mouth conflicted. David Eby did not fabricate the extent of money laundering in BC Casinos. A police task force on organized crime did. After that report was published Rich Coleman and the BC Liberals did away with the police task force investigating money laundering in Casinos.
Matthew Nathanson is a criminal defense lawyer. That means he represents criminals and people accused of committing crime. His specialty is to portray criminals and those accused of committing crime as innocent to create enough doubt that his clients get off. That's what he does and that is what he is paid to do. Everyone is entitled to a lawyer. Even Clifford Olsen. Criminals and those accused of committing crime are innocent until proven guilty.
Nevertheless, money laundering in BC Casinos is a huge problem. David Eby didn't make that up. He finally tried to do something about it. Matthew Nathanson's foul smelling rant is conflicted. Canadian lawyers are a source of money laundering. William Majcher testified to that fact.
However, I do agree that seizing the proceeds of crime is not the answer. That is not the New York Model. That is the corrupt LA model during the time of Freeway Ricky when the US crack epidemic was at it's peak. The DEA was on the take.
The New York model was about enforcing the law and disrupting street level drug trafficking. That was only made possible after the Mollen Commission rooted out police corruption in New York. BC needs an organized crime task force. The RCMP have been very clear in that they have absolutely no desire to investigate organized crime. That is why we need to give the job to someone who will. A regional task force is needed. Quebec has one, BC doesn't.

Canada's ambassador to China is fired for telling the truth
They say the truth will set you free. Not now. Now the truth will get you fired. The Canadian Press is reporting that "John McCallum has resigned as ambassador to China at the request of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in the wake of comments he made about a Huawei executive detained in Canada. The prime minister did not immediately issue an explanation, but the move came just hours after McCallum was quoted in a Vancouver newspaper as saying it would be "great for Canada" if the United States dropped its extradition request for Meng Wanzhou."
What John McCallum said was true. It would be great for Canada if the United States dropped its extradition request for Meng Wanzhou. The charges are bogus and diminish all of us. The US doesn't care about Communist China executing political prisoners to order. They only care about making money and fabricating charges in a trade war.
China is being absurd about it as well. Canada has an extradition treaty with the United States. Canada can't simply break that agreement. They are legally bound by it. China arresting random Canadians in retaliation is petty and childish. On top of that it is bad business. They just killed their tourist industry. Who's going to want to visit China now? Not me. Before that I sure was.
I used to think it would be nice to visit the Great Wall and see the Terracotta army. I almost sent my son there on his way home. Now that's just not on the table. Their petty childishness has shot themselves in the foot. What, you have a seven year old kid running the CPC? That's what it looks like to the rest of the world. Now those greedy Communists are losing money.
In this dispute China is the biggest villain. They torture political prisoners and execute them to order for organ harvesting. Their politicians are the highest paid in the world. There is no social justice in China. Their secret prison camps are no longer a secret. They can censor the internet in China but we all know what happened at Tiananmen square. The Communist party used live ammunition on protesters. That did happen. They can lie about it all they want to their own people but we know the truth. China's current Communism is no different that Stalin, Lenin, Mao or East Berlin. It is filled with lies and murder. We need to withdraw our pension funds from China.
We should be far more concerned about that then a bogus arrest in a trade war. Hats off to our Chinese Canadians who share their culture with us in a free and democratic state. Chinese culture predates Communism by thousands of years and will continue to prevail outside of China.
Ontario stuntman murdered before being sentenced on drug charges
The Toronto Star is reporting that "Ontario-based stuntman Dean Ilia Copkov, 52, has been identified as one of two men killed in a double slaying in Collingwood, Ont., last week, shortly before he was due to be sentenced in Montreal on drug offences."
69-year-old grandfather gunned down in East Vancouver
CTV is reporting that "A 69-year-old man was shot dead on the doorstep of a home he shared with three generations of his family, including five children, one as young as two years old, neighbours say. Zenen Cepeda Silva was killed just after midnight on Fraser Street just south of 51st Avenue Sunday. His horrified wife and some of his children stayed in the house next door while police combed the lawn for evidence and dusted for prints."
CTV is reporting that "A man in his 50s has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a shooting in East Vancouver. Police announced the arrest of Alvaro Julio Roche-Garcia on Tuesday, three days after a grandfather was shot dead outside his family home. The 58-year-old suspect remains in custody, officers said."
Vanier Park Kite flier passes away at the age of 90
The Vancouver Sun / Province is reporting that "Ray Bethell, the self-taught kite flying maestro, who was a fixture at Vanier Park and an international star, died on Dec. 18, 2018, aged 90."
When my kids were young we loved going to Vanier park and take the passenger ferry over to Granville Island. We would get a year membership at the Vancouver Planetarium and go on a virtual voyage through space. We even took up flying two string kites thanks to Ray.
I remember seeing him there one day masterfully weaving three two sting kites at once like a conductor in a symphony. He made it look so easy so I decided to buy one in Gastown. Only it wasn't that easy. We couldn't figure out how to get the two string kite in the air. So I went back to the kite shop and they gave me the magic key.
They said hold your arms out straight parallel to the ground and move back until the kite strings are taunt. From there, take three steps back while gradually bringing your arms down to your sides. That was it. It worked. From there were were air-born.
One time I saw him there flying 21 kites at once. He had a two string kite in each hand and another connected to his hips. Then he had seven kites on each line. It turns out he wasn't just the average guy, he was a world record holder. There's lots of videos of him on youtube. Let's keep the tradition alive. It's great fun for the kid in all of us. The kite shop in Gastown has closed down but the one on Granville Island is still there.

Happy Birthday Amadeus
Today is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthday (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791). To commemorate the event the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra held a Happy Birthday Amadeus concert at the Mount Baker Theater in Bellingham. It was awesome. Specials guest appearance from the legendary Martin Kuuskmann performed a flawless rendition of Mozart's bassoon concerto. Preserving the art is a worthwhile cause. Civilization is diminished without it.
