More Fentanyl Overdoses

There has been more Fentanyl overdoses in BC. The Daly Hive is reporting that there was 11 in one day in the DTES. Maple Ridge has been hit hard as well. September the Maple Ridge times reported four more Fentanyl fatalities. There was 63 in BC for the month of October alone.

Yesterday the Vancouver Sun / Vancouver Province highlighted the death of 21 year old Charly Ann Torikka in Maple Ridge Novemeber 6th. Another young woman who did a line of cocaine recreationally and ended up dead because it had Fentanyl in it. Just like Leanne Yardley in Surrey.

Leanne was at Shakerz in Surrey and simply did a line of cocaine recreationally. She did not know it was straight fentanyl not cocaine and died. It wouldn't be very hard to conduct an investigation into finding out who was the drug dealer that sold them the tainted drugs and arrest them. That would be the logical conclusion to such a malicious crime.

Failing to do so isn't just stupidity, it is criminal culpability. Instead of implementing the Four Pillars and enforcing the law by arresting drug dealers that sell tainted drugs, the extremists cry out for more lethal injection sites to help these predatory drug dealers do more business and make more money. That is the biggest human tragedy we now face in Canada.

  1. Ross K at the Pacific Gazetter had a post up yesterday about the Fent. crisis. Today we have =the Queen of the photo ops "taking" the issue to Ottawa. Right, as if that is going to work. Now what RCMP squad was it the B.C. Lieberals disbanded?

all we can expect from our Premier Photo op Queen is a steady stream of photo ops blaming Ottawa for the crisis. I would suggest the BC. Lieberals aren't going to do much about any of it until approx. 150 middle class citizens per month are dying. Christy Clark wouldn't even ban the sale of pill presses. She said that was Ottawa's responsibility, yet Alberta banned them. Who knows perhaps there is a pill press lobby Like how do we know what goes on at those pay to play B.C. Lieberal fund raisers where they pay $10K and up to chat, drink wine, etc. with Premier photo op queen Christy clark.

Christy Clark appears not to care about having the highest rate of child poverty in Canada for 15 years. She doesn't seem to care about children dying in care of the ministry. So what makes any one think she cares about people dying from fent.?

  2. Why aren't people of BC - Canada taking this to the Streets?
where is the courage, where is the desire to do the Right Thing for the Right Reason? I don't see people stand up for their Rights.. Why not?
Get your lazy asses off the couch and protest, we need a Global Revolution, and if people can't unite, well then,
shut the fuck up and keep going as you always have and support the corrupt government that rules us on every level.

  3. Because you're too apathetic and non-confrontational. And really, from their point of view who cares about a bunch of bodies blocking traffic for a day or two, just the cost of doing business.

  4. Things like this will only increase and become worse because the culture of the day wants to be able to do anything they want. This includes the use of drugs and with the federal government of Canada having a self-admitted drug user for Prime Minister who wants to legalize drug use.

It can only go so far.

  6. the fent. "crisis" has been coming for a long time. nothing was done about it. Now its out of control and everyone wants Ottawa to do something. What they really want is for Ottawa to give them hundreds of millions of dollars which will not be spent on what it was intended for. the provincial government here was way to slow doing anything.

There are insufficient rehab centres and those that are there aren't adequate unless they are expensive and private. Surely the police know who is manufacturing this stuff and if they don't they aren't doing their job. they could get a teenager to find out for them where its being manufactured, bust the places and leave it at that. But that doesn't seem to be happening so my conclusion is that at some level this is working for the various politicians while First Responders deal with the mess.

    1. "What they really want is for Ottawa to give them hundreds of millions of dollars which will not be spent on what it was intended for." Exactly.

Most of the rehabs in Surrey are tax paid flop houses. The one's that actually help people get off the drugs can't get government funding. You only get funding if you abuse the methadone program.

  7. For the fent. crisis to be dealt with the province needs quality treatment centres with medical staff, not some private "flop house". This province needs at least 100 rehab beds in hospitals just for teens and young people, but don't be expecting that to be done. That costs money and the only ones who get money from the government in this province is those who "pay to play"

You've been writing a long time about the issues, yet we have yet to see any health authority do anything about it.

when people come out of rehab they have no where to go nor enough money to survive on, so they are right back where they started from. this must be working at some level for some one, just not the people who are dying or the First Responders.

  8. The police know who sold leanne the fentynal, why this man has not been charged with a serious crime yet is a tragedy, they have the information, no idea what they are waiting for, so frustrating.

  9. Obviously you people don't get it... most of them would be out of a job if they fixed the problem, therefore they thrive with the problem.
