CTV is reporting that "The chief of a Manitoba First Nation has been charged with sexual assault and child luring, RCMP announced on Friday." News 4 Winnipeg is reporting that "Police say they began an investigation after learning of inappropriate text messages between a 16-year-old female and a 65-year-old male. The investigation led police to identify Keeper as the male."

"Keeper has been charged for his alleged involvement with Luring a person under 18, two counts of Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault with Weapon, Being a person in a position of authority, touch for a sexual purpose, Careless Storage of a Restricted Weapon, Possess Restricted Weapon without a License and Possess Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence."

Fatal shooting in 100 Mile House

Castanet is reporting that "Police are investigating a murder following a shooting in an industrial area in 100 Mile House. Mounties were called to an industrial area in the Cariboo community on Tuesday evening, RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson said in a news release on Thursday, after someone called 911 saying they heard shots fired. Saunderson said investigators arrived to find a person dead. The victim died as a result of homicide."

New Brunswick Hells Angel convicted of drug traficking

CTV is reporting that "New Brunswick RCMP say a full-patch member of the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle club was sentenced Monday in the Bathurst Court of Queen's Bench to six-and-a-half years for conspiracy to traffic cocaine and one year for "commission of an offence for a criminal organization." Police say they arrested Emery Joseph (Pit) Martin in June 2018 after two lengthy RCMP investigations into drug trafficking that began in 2016 in the Acadian Peninsula of New Brunswick and in Restigouche, Madawaska, and Victoria Counties."

"During the course of the investigations, police seized more than five kilograms of cocaine, and more than $900,000 in Canadian currency," the RCMP said in a news release. Martin, who pleaded guilty on June 24, 2021, will serve both sentences consecutively, minus time already served.
