Alberta Hells Angels associate sentenced to 10 years for smuggling crystal meth into BC

CTV is reporitng that "A 51-year-old Alberta man who told investigators he feared for his family's safety when he was caught trying to smuggle 650 kilograms of methamphetamine into Canada aboard a speedboat from Washington state's San Juan Islands has been sentenced to 10 years in U.S. prison." This is the clown that was posting pictures of himself in Hells Angels support gear on social media. His lie about not knowing what was in the duffle bags failed the test of believably.

  1. I'll bet he doesn't get approved by the Americans to return to Canada to serve his sentence either. Arkinstall was lucky to have been nabbed on our side of the line.

    1. Seems like treaty transfers aren’t happening lately especially under current minister of public safety. Not that we want to pay for their incarceration.

    2. Yeah from what I hear all transfers are on hold. Makes no sense.

    1. Likely. 10 years for that much crystal meth is pretty surprising for the States.

    2. Because he was arrested by the American Feds it's a Federal sentence. These run in 5 year increments and American judges at the Federal level don't have the leeway that State judges have. "Mandatory minimums". Also USA Fed time is 90% of the sentence, no such thing as getting more than 10% off for good behavior whereas at the State level all kinds of things are possible. This is why Emery did 4.5 years of 5 years before being released and Rouche will probably* do 27 with good behavior, since he was sentenced to 30, which would make his release date 2036 at the earliest, 2039 if he's determined not to qualify for good behavior.

      * because who knows where the world will be by 2026, never mind 2036.
