CBC is reporting that Jeff Strom, 64, was attacked near East Cordova and Dunlevy streets at around 5:30 p.m. PT on Thursday. He was hospitalized with serious injuries but died on Saturday.
Police said James Frederick Fierheller, who has no fixed address, was initially arrested for assault causing bodily harm, but since Strom's death, the charges have changed.
"Those charges have been updated to manslaughter," Sgt. Aaron Roed said during a news conference Tuesday.
"Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who saw the attack or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the attack. The intersection is at the southwest corner of Oppenheimer Park.

At their inaugural meeting on Thursday, nine members of the new Surrey police board approved a motion to create the Surrey Police Service. It’s expected to launch the day after the city’s contract with the Mounties ends on March 31.
Board chairman and Mayor Doug McCallum, who was elected on the campaign promise to create the municipal force, said it represents more than a change in uniform.

The B.C. government approved the switch in February and appointed the board in June to oversee the new force in Surrey, a city the mayor said is growing by 1,500 new residents each month." The accusations against the two Edmonton Hells Angels regarding their mistreatment of a BC grower are believable. I'd say there is a 50% chance they are true. Locally the Hells Angels would have someone rob their own grow and make the grower pay back the debt all the time.
However, making a big deal about "illegal" pot and the Hells Angels involvement with legal pot is nonsense. Pot has been legalized. There is no such thing as illegal pot, just unlicensed pot. Obsessing over unlicensed pot defeats the purpose of the legislation and is a waste of tax dollars. Police, court and prison resources need to be used on more important things like crack, crystal meth and fentanyl. That will save lives and reduce violent crime.

In March 2020, CBS showed a video clip from an overcrowd hospital in Italy and falsely claimed it was a hospital in New York City. When they were caught they claimed it was an editing mistake. Yet the Australian News just used the same video clip pretending it was a hospital in Australia full of COVID patients.

We can debate whether or not hydroxychloroquine helps COVID but we cannot debate on whether or not it is safe. It is FDA approved and has been around for 65 years. They give it to pregnant women. Lucky Lance, the Steve Irwin corona hunter went to the same hospital to give the staff a box of chocolates for being so over worked. When he went there the hospital was empty. The nurses said they couldn't get shifts because there was nothing to do. The media lied.
CBC is reporting that "2 men from Ontario were transporting 50 kg of ecstasy, 26 kg of substances mixed with fentanyl. Although police are still testing the substances, they believe there are 50 kilograms of MDMA - commonly known as ecstasy - and 26 kilograms of various substances laced with fentanyl, all packaged in one-kilogram quantities."
"The two men, aged 41 and 43, appeared in court for a bail hearing on Wednesday and were later remanded into custody until their next court appearance."
Last December, the RCMP seized 22 kilograms of crystal meth and 43 kilograms of cocaine in Winnipeg. Why does the RCMP make drug busts in every province except BC? If they spent more time making drug busts and less time running paid ads, we wouldn't need to replace them.

The Sudbury Star is reporting that "A full-patched Hells Angels Nomad chapter member from Ottawa has pleaded guilty to a charge arising from a massive three-community drug trafficking investigation that culminated with numerous arrests a year ago.
Joshua Khosrowkhani, 33, who was facing five charges arising from his arrest Aug. 1, 2019, and was in custody at the Sudbury Jail, pleaded guilty Wednesday to cocaine possession for the purpose of trafficking.
A sentencing date will be set next Wednesday."
"The court heard that in the summer of 2018, Niagara Regional Police, Greater Sudbury Police and the Ontario Provincial Police started a joint investigation into a cocaine trafficking ring that operated across Ontario, including Greater Sudbury.
Dubbed Project Skylark, the investigation included the wiretapping of communications in April and June of 2019. Officers were investigating a network of drug trafficking in Nova Scotia and Ontario, concentrating on the Red Devils motorcycle club and the Hells Angels Nomads chapter. Khosrowkhani, a full-patch member of the Nomads chapter, was identified as one of three targets by police."
"In early August of 2019, police announced at a news conference in Niagara Falls that Project Skylark investigated members and associates of the Hells Angels Nomads, Red Devils Motorcycle Club and the Hooligans Motorcycle Club associated with the trafficking of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl in the Niagara Region, Sudbury and Ottawa."

CTV is reporting that last Monday Montreal police seized 38 kilos of cocaine, 10 kiols of heroin, half a kilo of crack and almost a kilo of fentanyl. The drug seizure follows three overdoses that took place in recent weeks in the same apartment block in Lachine. That bust saved lives.
The fentanyl seizure is the second largest carried out in Montreal since 2017, when the city was experiencing a rash of overdoses related to the drug.
To manage it, Montreal police took measures to slow the spread of fentanyl in the city. Well done. That's what you are supposed to do. It's called law enforcement and is on eof the Four Pillars Vancouver threw away.
They also seized Viagra, Cialis and 4.22 litres of GHB. That's pretty f*cked up. You're selling that to promote rape. Police say the group was headed by a member of the Hells Angels and included members of the Minotaurs MC West Montreal gang.
38-year-old Dany Durand, who police say led the group, pleaded guilty on July 3 to various charges, including gangsterism, drug trafficking, conspiracy and participation in gang activities.

For us, the higher the number the less restrictions. For example, we're still in a stage two return from lockdown which means some restrictions. Stage three for us would mean considerable less restrictions. We never had a curfew. That makes no sense whatsoever.
CTV is reporting that "Police in Maple Ridge are investigating a shooting that happened near the intersection of Selkirk Avenue and 223rd Street Saturday night around 10:30. A woman who lives in an apartment building just metres from where the shooting took place did not want to provide her name but showed CTV News what she says is a fresh bullet hole in the exterior wall just metres from her kitchen window." That's the thing these kids don''t realize. If you shoot so one and you mis you have to think about what' behind them that you might hit.
BC local news is reporting that "Local area residents reported a black SUV was seen speeding along Selkirk firing multiple shots at another vehicle."
Fatal shooting in Toronto
Global Is reporting that "York Regional Police say one person is dead and another injured after a shooting in Vaughan. Police said shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were told about a male victim with gunshot wounds who went to a Toronto hospital.
Officers said they learned the shooting occurred at a building on Freshway Drive, northwest of Keele Street and Steeles Avenue West.
Police said when they went to the scene, they found a second victim - a 29-year-old man - who was dead. He has since been identified as Oshaine Channer of Peel Region."
